  • offspring · 5 months ago
god bless the guard he saved many because none of has any doubt as deranged as this man was that if he would have gotten in more would have died thank you officer, and my thanks and prays go out for a hero that died today thank you for your brave sacrifice

So, how is that Rethug law allowing people to carry guns in National Parks going to play out in the future? Rightwingers are notorious "survivalist" types as well and will gather in those places, as they have in the past. How long before they start picking off those they hate?

A stupid law for stupid people.

This killer already was convicted of a crime involving a gun. My feeling is that one gun-related incident and your right to bear arms is forfeited and you are subject to random searches of your home and other property.

Shouldn't even have a department of homeland security, just that fact that its called "homeland" means it's pure neocon propaganda.
  • Chris From Maine · 5 months ago
and then 90minutes later Glenn Beck tied the shooter to Barack Obama and Rev. Wright.
  • naschkatzehussein · 5 months ago
Maybe, Chris, maybe, but Obama is the one who quashed Napolitano's report under pressure from the religious right and the GOP. Napolitano is probably the best defender of the civil rights of the vulnerable, and he didn't support her but caved into them. There's no getting around that.
  • Chris From Maine · 5 months ago
I agree, but my point is that dont give Fox too much credit for admitting they were wrong.

And that report was pretty prophetic if u ask me.. there has been at least 3, and maybe more, domestic terror attacks in the past week or two.
  • Ginger_FL · 5 months ago
Don't forget the shooter down here in Oakaloosa County FL who killed 2 police officers at a shooting range.......
I suspect if stats were collected...we'd see that the RW nuts come out of the woodwork under a Dem administration and they go back under their rocks to plan while there is a Rethug administration.
    Just an unfounded hunch...

but it does appear that there is far more danger in the US brought on by WHITE - Domestic - Terrorists than any brown skinned - Muslim.
    Alas...I digress.....
  • naschkatzehussein · 5 months ago
I give them absolutely no credit, and I think the right, religious and otherwise, are going for broke. They aren't getting their way so it seems perfectly acceptable to maybe start another civil war. We may now be reaping what Fox has sown.
  • vkobaya · 5 months ago
Hell just froze over. Someone on the right admitted they were wrong.
  • GoBlue · 5 months ago
Never fear: by tomorrow someone, Rush or Beck or Savage, will be saying that when the liberals refer to the reich-wing nuts as haters, the libs themselves are expressing hate.
  • vkobaya · 5 months ago
It all fits together with the other news today. In 2013, we will be inaugurating co-presidents, Carrie Prejean and Sarah Palin on the platform of killing Jews, gays, and liberal abortionists. Will be wishing for the good old days when the Mensa scholar, George Bush, was president.

Here's another good one from TPM. Shepherd Smith examines the hateful emails he gets from Fox News viewers in connection to today's shooting:

THANK YOU. I hope on of the people in charge of this site see that. That has to be posted as a story unto itself.

This is a monster of FOX's own making.

FOX has to bear A LOT of responsibility for this, not just the blogs as Smith tries to deflect to in the clip.

They have fanned the flames - now they're concerned about the fire?

"In April 1983, Von Brunn [the shooter] was sentenced to at least four years in prison for attempting to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve board. Records show that he was arrested after entering the board headquarters in Washington with a bag that was found to contain a revolver, a hunting knife and a sawed-off shotgun."

This is total crap! No one acknowledged the DHS report in the beginning because they either knew nothing about it or said it is fake because there is no way the government can be so tyrannical. NOW, after a staged gun-attack happens...(come on an 88 year old man slips through security with a gun...gimme a break!) the media is now saying maybe this is a good thing!! People wake up to the totalitarian shift our country is going through! Please, the republic depends on it!

What the hell kind of drugs are you on?

I think Fox is using this as an excuse to give the nutty Birth Certificate issue some airtime.

Stephen Tyrone Johns, the security guard that was killed by the white supremacist Von Brunn, was African-American:

shepard smith has had a surprising amount of moments of honest reporting during the past 6 months or so. although it really isn't that hard to be a diamond in the rough when you are surrounded with shit.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 5 months ago
i wonder if he was tempted to mention bill o'reilly as among the "really way out there" (see the link posted earlier: http://www.gotchamediablog.com/2009/06/shepherd... ).

Too bad Janet Napolitano caved in to the faux outrage on faux.

"I'm not running away from it, BUT...." she says.

    *BUT*??? No butts about it!

This is what FOX has been fomenting. Their concern about these nut cases is phony, just like their news.
