AMERICAblog: Franken-Coleman recount starts today: “The scoreboard reads 0-0 with 2.9 million to go.”

Who knows what the real vote counts were anywhere, really? Only these races where there is a recount carefully supervised will we know the true outcomes.
Yes, Obama won, but actually by how many votes? Will we ever know the true figure? I suspect it was more than 52-48...but for the Rethug machinations in many states.

Well to be fair, I am no Lieberman lover by any means; but how is he expected to help in a recount? Tell them to vote again?

Because Al's good enough, he's smart enough, and doggonit, people voted for him!"

Sitting on pins and needles waiting for a Franken win hoping on the lines that more Democrats in the senate will mean Lieberman gets booted. On another note I’ve noticed on the web a silly bit nonsense that goes along the lines of “this person achieving that office won’t make the world perfect“ who in there right mind thinks this way? Is this what right wingers thought when the rethugs took power? We on the left have just started moving gaily forward it’s a good start and every day it’s looking better but it’s only just begun.

ok, since you brought up lieberman, check out the funny essay at DKos on the "lieberman effect":
Yesterday I got stopped for speeding. I told the cop he was a terrorist sympathizer who wants America to fail. He let me off with a warning. I complained. He took back the warning and let me go after giving me his handcuffs as a gift. ...
Yesterday I appeared at the trial of my uncle to defend him as a character witness against false charges of pedophilia. I decided instead to tell the jury that, yeah, he probably was a pedophile because sometimes he gets that look in his eye. As he was led off to jail to begin his 20-year sentence, he waved and said I could have his Ferrari.
LMAO.

btw, the turnout in AK was about 66%, very much in line with previous years. earlier it was looking suspiciously low. guess we have to get used to the Alaskan sense of urgency.

I'm naive here -- what can influence a recount? What could even a sleazebag like Lieberman do to make a difference, other than volunteering to be a counter (not that he could be trusted with that)?
Whereas there's real campaigning to be done in Georgia, isn't Minnesota just a matter of auditing now?

Joe campaigned heavily for Norm Coleman, surely the sight of two such odious cretins backslapping around Minnesota must have moves hundreds of votes to Franken. I think Joe already did his part to help Al get elected.
harry reid should tell LIEberman if he wants to keep his committee assignment, he has to make a PSA endorsing franken...otherwise, he loses that chair.
if that's the "game" LIEberman wants to play, then harry should take of the gloves and show he's not a jellyfish.
oh, my bad, they've already given the fox the keys to the hen house.

I'm all for Lieberman helping people out as penance for his douchebaggery (douchebagness?) but how is he supposed to help Franken with the recount? I thought the recount was supposed to be a fair, just and non-political process of simply manually recounting the votes that were cast. I don't understand how he or anyone else could help Franken out? Praying maybe?
