More about the Yule Goat
Then what is stop-loss?
The right wing current of the Democratic party, characterized by its neoliberal economic policies, support of Israel, desire to increase defense spending, and links to heavy donors and fundraisers.
Believes that "left-wing" positions are not politically viable. Describes itself as "moderate and pro-growth". Probably responsible for erosion of the Democratic Party's historical labor and minority base due to support of treaties like NAFTA, lack of support for affirmative action and poverty programs, and their siphoning away of campaign funds from minority groups.
At the national level, the movement was founded by the Democratic Leadership Council (501c4 educational non-profit, founded 1984) and includes the House New Democrat Coalition (founded 1997), the Senate New Democrat Coalition (founded 2000), the New Democrat Network PAC (founded 1996), the misnamed Progressive Policy Institute (501c4 think tank, "Bill Clinton's idea mill", founded 1989), and the umbrella funding group The Third Way Foundation (501c3 non-profit, founded 1996).
Since coming to power within the Democratic Party with Bill Clinton's presidency, the New Democrats/DLC have worked towards "essentially the same purpose as the Christian Coalition... to pull a broad political party dramatically to the right" according to John Nichols of The Progressive.
DLC operatives actively worked to sabotage Howard Dean's candidacy for the US Presidency in 2004, claiming that the "far-left" Democrat was wrong to attack George W. Bush's tax cuts and national security policies.
Corporate contributors to the DLC and New Democratic Network include Bank One, Citigroup, Dow Chemical, DuPont, General Electric, Health Insurance Corporation of America, Merrill Lynch, Microsoft, Philip Morris, RJR Nabisco, Chevron, Prudential Foundation, Amoco Foundation, AT&T, Morgan Stanley, Occidental Petroleum, Raytheon, and many other Fortune 500 companies.
The New Democrat Movement is sometimes referred to as the Dixiecrat movement due to the DLC's origination in the southern states, their desire to get rid of affirmative action, and their membership's overwhelming whiteness.
"[Democrats should] shift the primary focus from racism, the traditional enemy without, to self-defeating patterns of behavior [among blacks]" --Chuck Robb, 2nd DLC Chairman, Governor & Senator of the Great State of Virginia, White Man, 1986.
"I'm from the democratic wing of the Democrat Party" --Paul Wellstone, progressive Democrat, criticizing the New Democrat Movement.
"Democrats for the Leadership Class" --Jesse Jackson, progressive black Democrat, describing the DLC.
Those members, as promised:

That's Bullshit that McCain would say "only a fool or a fraud would attempt to glamorize war".
A guy that glamorizes war is not the guy you need to be following like a lost puppy.
I want McCain to make a speech without teleprompters. He reads like a turtle on Valium.
When did he become aware that this was going to be a problem? Is he concerned that he's breaking the law? What's he doing about it?
He can't even balance his own campaign budget.
If the guy can't even run his own campaign competently, legally, and responsibly he isn't up to the job as president.
That would be a big win.

But wait! There's more . . . as a contented Florida retiree, I'm pleased to see McCain and Romney together. Our beloved gay governor, Charlie Crist, is good where he is.
Feel better about yourself, come bask in the Florida sunshine. It's good for you. Bring money.
When I asked the operator why the IRS didn't check out the tax sites they recommend as competent to do this, I was yelled at by the operator (a civil servant, paid by tax dollars, duh). She may send it or not. I'll know in a week.
Meanwhile, I think I'll just go back to bed. Tired of the incompetence. Maybe she was upset that she didn't get that bonus like her supervisor did? Why the hell are govt employees paid bonuses? Could be that contracting bids are jacked up to include those bonuses? More govt debt...
On another note, I give (reluctantly) kudos to hillary for telling those of her supporters that are saying they will go for McCain over Obama that they need to think again. After all her touting of McCain in recent weeks, it's good to hear a different tack from that campaign.

Senator Charles Grassley, a Republican said he is absolutely convinced we will capture Osama bin Laden before the election...
I'm a war president. I make decisions here in the Oval Office in foreign-policy matters with war on my mind. Again, I wish it wasn't true, but it is true...
And I made the decision, obviously, to take our case to the international community in the hopes that we could do this — achieve a disarmament of Saddam Hussein peacefully. In other words, we looked at the intelligence...
I went to Congress with the same intelligence — Congress saw the same intelligence I had, and they looked at exactly what I looked at...
In other words, you can't rely upon a madman, and he was a madman. You can't rely upon him making rational decisions when it comes to war and peace, and it's too late, in my judgment...
See, free societies are societies that don't develop weapons of mass terror and don't blackmail the world...
and what does number 322 mean ??

Senator Casey's endorsement of Obama is great news to wake up to!
--------
Yes, that is good news.
I was afraid the whole state was in the bag for Hillary, like Ohio was.
(And don't those Ohio voters feel stupid now that we learned Hillary had a leading role in passing NAFTA, which devastated their state.)
When I asked the operator why the IRS didn't check out the tax sites they recommend as competent to do this, I was yelled at by the operator (a civil servant, paid by tax dollars, duh). She may send it or not. I'll know in a week.

Should have reported her, if you got a name.
Bush_Bites, PA is already narrowing. I don't care if hillary wins it as long as the margin is small. The MSM talking heads are already saying she has to win by a wide margin and if Obama can keep that from happening, the talk will be how a hillary win, wasn't much of a win.
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. forces were drawn deeper into Iraq's four day-old crackdown on Shi'ite militants on Friday, launching air strikes in Basra for the first time and battling militants in Baghdad.

The “Round-up” is very long and very, very bloody -- read it and tell me if it looks like the “surge” is working by any stretch of the imagination.
And Juan Cole has more very bad news on Iraq – very bad, indeed:
Mahdi Army Stands Firm in its Basra Neighborhoods;
Demonstrations in Baghdad against al-Maliki
http://www.juancole.com/
The Arabic press [Al-Hayat] reports that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki continues to refuse to negotiate with the Mahdi Army militiamen, and said, "They have no other choice but to surrender."
But, al-Maliki is already showing signs of becoming wobbly – he just extended the hard-and-fast 72-hour deadline for them to "surrender heavy arms” to 10 days – largely because Muqtada al-Sadr and the Mahdi Army have essentially told al-Maliki to fuck off, and al-Sadr is calling for negotiations while sending tens of thousands if Iraqi Shiites into the streets to peacefully protest the al-Maliki government's hard line.
Also, Al-Maliki promised monetary rewards to those Mahdi Army members who would agree to comply with the new 10-day extension of the deadline. And that's al-Maliki's idea of taking a hard line?
What a mess…and then some.
