the dems could have started impeachment hearings with dick cheney. cutting away at bush's underlinks would have cause a great upheaval in his administration. they have the evidence but the dems choose not to use it. it is turning out the attorney general is a stone waller (thanks shumer and feinstein). the dems have caved in on everything. throw the bums out and vote for any other dem to their seat. the status quo in the democratic party can not stand,

obama made a major mistake voting for FISA.

I just don't understand it. Why are the polls even close? Why would anyone want the same old, same old. Why does Europe get it but we don't? Is it because Obama is black or is because he is a Democrat? Our morning paper is showing an almost dead heat here in MN and this is a fairly Democratic state. Depressing.

Don't believe the polls, polls are a tool of the oligarchy too sway your mind. The polls are saying that Obama is behind in some states and ahead in others, could this be any more obvious? The polls are used as a divisive tool to make you think otherwise. I think Obama will win this election hands down. But the polls won't tell you that....

I so hope you are right.

McCain is the quintessential bitter old whiner. It's hilarious watching him stutter his way though interviews, press conferences, and Town Hall meetings. Honestly, I'm confused by the polls, which very much conflict with what I'm witnessing in my community in New Hampshire. A traditionally Republican city, it's turning a deep blue as residents have had it with Republican failures. To get a sense of what a community turning from Red to Blue looks like you should visit http://www.laconaidemocrats.org and browse around. There's a great gallery of photos from the Independence Day Parade where Democrats dominated the streets, and another of Carole King's campaign stops in the area.

This weekend the Obama campaign is conducting '100 Days Canvass', marking 100 days until the election. We have Obama staffers, Fellow and volunteers preparing for the Saturday event. After years of playing second fiddle to the Repugs it's great to be leading the way.

Don't you mean < http://www.laconiademocrats.org >? I will admit that I am shocked to hear that that region of NH is going ultramarine. I would have expected that they would always remain ultramontane.

    "hear dick cheney's motorcade"?

does that mean the noise of all the flying monkeys circling overhead?

The comments about Obama's speech, coming from the McPain campaign, and other rethugs are so laughable. It really sounds petty.
Ole Mac says he would not make such a speech, unless he was Prez, but then someone comes out and says, he DID make speeches in Canada and the UK(?). Obama did say at the beginning of his speech, that he was just an American making a speech. He did not act or presume he was a President.
I sense envy and desperation in the McPain campaign, every time Obama shines. What won't they say and do, to try and bring him down!

Most Americans are basically indifferent to the whole process. If only they would take some time to analyze the last few years, and ask themselves if that is what they want for the next few years, they would not want to vote for Ole Mac. Mac is definitely not suitable to be President. He cannot remember important stuff, and unfortunately, his gaffes remind me of Bush in many ways. We don't need a Bush lite in the WH, continuing Bush policies.

Breakfast TV with the networks: Isn't Caylee an innocent little angel! A tragedy! And those wrenching 911 calls! OMG! there was a Qantas flight of terror! Those masks dropped and everything! John McCain hit Obama hard on winning a campaign, but losing a war! Miley Cyrus is getting a huge turnout in Rockefeller Plaza, even bigger than the one that happened yesterday to some one-term Senator in some place in Europe, where he was quoted as saying America isn't perfect and that he's not really an American, but a "world citizen" whatever that is. But we covered that yesterday enough, so we're moving on... Is Caylee's mom guilty?!....

I have reading the right wing blogs, and I cannot believe they are attacking Obama's speech. What has McCain got to offer? Absolutely nothing. They attack because they have nothing substantial to offer.

BUSHboy is repeating the right wing meme that: the biased liberal media is once again rearing it's ugly head.

We all know it's the other way around. The REPUKES have no better tactic then to lie about the substance of their argument. Pitiful.

Its hard not to give up on this country, watching middle aged women swooning over a 15 yr old self-promoter with little talent and spending thousands taking their own little girls to admire something they shouldn't while neglecting their own children's development.

All TV is pretty much Whore TV these days. That's become a common phrase in this house.

You know what's even worse, Older? Being in a gay bar and hearing some 22 year old twink saying that he cannot be bothered voting because he can't be bothered learning about candidates and he's too busy watching "American Idol". Or worrying about Madonna's baby. Or watching makeover shows. And when asked about his civil rights, he is clueless that he can lose his job here in Texas simply for being out. It's a right to work state.

Agree. Also disgusting was the report on NBC last showing showcasing an obviously affluent family of 5, 3 teens (huge McMansion, huge refrigerator) and the food wasted by them (supposed to be a piece on how "America" is "cutting back). This child-worshipping mother was complaining about throwing out 6 steaks (she doesn't know how to freeze?), unopened containers, produce not eaten, etc., crying that she felt "guilty" if she didn't have what "they and their friends" wanted...

It was a total obscenity, considering so many have so little, not just in the US, but the world.

OH darlin come to Dallas, Plano, new money mcmansionland...watch a child
throw out an entire lunch because he does not like what mommy packed...watch
him run the printer in the computer lab sending out 45 sheets so he can
print ONE picture on a website...watch how mom leaves her Hummer running for
one hour with AC going in carpool, so she can be first in line....watch how
the clothing in lost and found, after one week, has four hundred garments in
it....watch how soda cans never get recycled...and watch them make fun of
the teacher riding a bike to work because he is too poor to own a Land Rover
or Hummer.....the corporate world has been brilliant at creating a consumer
    nation.

Total waste. I'm not worrying at all about these idiots except they should be forced to feed the homeless, destitute and down and out in their area. Of course, the selfish morons won't. And they're teaching their kids to be even worse than them--no empathy, no compassion, nothing but self-interest and greed.

I can't stand the Progressive Insurance commercial where Flo shows a blond woman that Progressive saved Steve $227 (State Farm $808, Progressive $581) on his car insurance and the blond says "Wow, that 's a new pair of shoes". I'd take that $227 and spend it on food, gas and maybe a cheap pair of shoes.

i just watched Obama's entire speech from Berlin.
if you haven't heard it, go do it...youtube has it up... it's on the Obama website as well.

His speeches are so unlike the typical political speech. They have a beginning, a middle and an end, telling a story and so clearly setting out what he intends all of us to join in doing. It is fantastic. The wingers may attack it out of fear, but there aren't enough wingers in this world to crush hope.

I few years ago I was driving down Connecticut up near the Naval Observatory and damned near got run off the road by the sumbitch's motorcade because I wasn't going fast enough and just following the speed limit. Of course, we now know that Fourth Branch doesn't need to obey any laws. He's a true royalist through and through. We need to bring Madame Guillotine back for this bunch.

"we'd love your candy"-cable news anchors in a child like state as they jump into McCain's bus
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
And while I'm bitching this am, another "child expert" on NBC this am was advising mothers not to potty train their kids until they are 3 years old...for chrissakes, any child who is put in front of a computer at that age damned well better be able to take care of their own toilet needs. Geeez, we musn't toilet train until the kid knows how to ask to go to the toilet, according to this "expert."

Just another little "tip" to make your child dependent for his or her entire minority and beyond.

If a child isn't potty trained by age 2, assuming they're "normal", the parents just aren't paying attention. Nothing worse than seeing a 3 or 4 year old weighing 50 lbs in a "pull up" sucking on one of those ubiquitous "sippy cups". Have you ever had to change the diaper of a 50 lb kid? Gross. Most daycares won't even accept kids into preschool at age 2 unless they're potty trained.

it's all he has left, other than slander
  • KansasModerate · 1 year ago
Let's not get too over-confident that McCain's campaign is crashing.

While the polls that will be taken after Senator Obama's trip to the Middle East and Europe may give Obama a bounce, recent polls have shown his lead over McCain narrowing. Several polls all showed the same thing, the race tightening in some of the key battleground states.

I'm really surprised that a cranky old man who looks at the past instead of seeing the future's promise is keeping this campaign so close. But everywhere I go I hear people saying the same thing, they just aren't sure about Obama. It's clear that he (we) must do a lot more to close the deal with voters.
