More about the Yule Goat
Needless to say, we cut the flower off and put it in water and it is now on our back deck.
Which of these is like your Stapelia?
http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=stapelia&w=9730...
We gave a cutting to a friend in SoCal years ago. He can grow them outside there. He sent us a video one time of his blooming and the center of one of the flowers was just crawling with maggots. It was awesome!
We also have a Stapelia flavopurpurea but it has yet to bloom. Thanks for the link to that Flickr page mirth. Those are amazing photographs.
As far as orchids go, we've got some run-of-the-mill Paph getting ready to bloom and some generic grocery store Oncidiums currently blooming. Couldn't tell you what kind though.
Nice change of pace.
Thanks, John.
O/T did Franken lose the re-count?
They don't have to have them recounted until Dec 5th
But this is way pretty, I love the Orchid Blogging. I do well with my outside plants, but growing stuff inside, I can just never seem to get the hang of it. I love seeing when someone can. Great job John!
