Anyone make the connection of the Shiia militia that John McCain disrespected in his confusion, then had to be corrected by Lieberman, of all people. Bring 'em on in gang warfare. .....yea, the McCain prediction was right, the factions in Iraq are going to sink his candidacy. Who would ever think if you send a senile man into delicate negotiations something could go wrong?

    And they criticized Pelosi.
ot:Obama and Pelosi, the only ones to mention helping Tibet so far.

    Obama/Webb '08

    sheesh.

    Glenn Greenwald recommended this piece:

"People who supported the invasion of Iraq were fatuous, bloodthirsty, a historical, immoral, politically naive, callous, unthinking, reprehensible morons--to the man. The proper attitude is contrition, silence, and contemplation."

Speaking of spin, am I the only one to hear the White House is now calling the home foreclosure disaster the "Great Endless American Camping Outdoors Initiative" as a followup to their blabbing endlessly about their "ownership society" back when they were pushing their subprime credit schemes to show everyone owns a home?

A few Bush Cheney Policy Initiatives:

    "Healthy Forest Initiative"
    "Clean Skies Iniitiative"
"Great Endless American Camping Outdoors Initiative"
"Alternative Fuels Celebration" (when a homeowner burns down their house in an attempt to escape their mortgage without foreclosure)

"There is plenty of reason to doubt the White House spin."

Oh Gee. You think? That's the biggest understatement since Noah said "it looks like it might rain".
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
McCain said it was going to be easy. I wonder if he prays to George W. Bush.

Lindsey Graham even went so far as to say that McCain never stated that it was going to be easy. Olbermann mentioned this just tonight.

mirth, that would certainly be a smart move on Obama's part if he announced Fallon.

Meanwhile, with less than a year in office, Bush is negotiating with Maliki a permanent presence in Iraq for years and years. And don't call it a treaty, because that would require Congressional approval. Has anyone in the MSM noticed? Is Froomkin going to write about this?
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
You know what's interesting about this quote from Froomkin. It's plain, blasé, and pretty damn weak. It does nothing to stir your mind. Its like saying someone miss-spoke, when instead they lied. The media is clearly delusional and treasonous. There mere fact that anyone gives this fucker (booosh) any credibility is outrageous. and tip toeing around with words like: "plenty of reason to doubt". PLENTY OF REASON?? PLENTY OF REASON??? ARRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! How ridiculously weak is this statement on its face????

When on the other hand we have likes of Elliot Spitzer: "who wrote and published in the Washington Post on Valentine's Day, February 14th, the day after his admitted tryst in DC, Spitzer wrote: "Even though predatory lending was becoming a national problem, the Bush administration looked the other way and did nothing to protect American homeowners. In fact, the government chose instead to align itself with the banks that were victimizing consumers."

The hit was called. Elliot's stupidity and hypocrisy got the best of him. The booosh crime family corporatist cashed in a chip.

How's that 4000 dead working for ya???

the American people have vertigo from all the spin this outlaw regime has spouted

"There is plenty of reason to doubt the White House spin."

Doesn't this statement apply to every issue, every day? It's kind of like "there's reason to believe the sun will come up tomorrow."
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Typical.

Whenever there's been bad news in Iraq, they've tried to spin it as really good news.

Remember when the riots were a "jubulent display of freedom," or some such?

Then, remember when the bombings got real intense, and they said it just showed the enemy was getting desperate?

Black is white, up is down, day is night.

Now, go back to American Idol and quit asking questions.

And speaking of the Green Zone:

When you talk about the life in the Green Zone, one of the things that interested me was your phrase, the "brat pack." What did you mean?

It was a bunch of young kids -- had no experience managing finances -- who were given the task of running Iraq's budget. It turned out that this group of kids who had come over together couldn't quite figure out why they'd been chosen. They finally discovered that what had tied them together was that they had all applied for jobs at the Heritage Foundation, this conservative think tank in Washington.

What happened was that the hiring was done by the White House liaison to the Pentagon, an office of the Pentagon political appointee. This office served as the gatekeeper. Instead of casting out widely for people with knowledge of Arabic, knowledge of the Middle East, knowledge of post-conflict reconstruction, they went after the political loyalists and canvassed the offices of Republic congressmen, conservative think tanks and other places where they knew they would find people who would be unfailingly loyal to the president and to the president's mission in Iraq. …

The hiring process involved questions that would have landed a private-sector employer in jail. They asked people what their views on Roe v. Wade were, whether they believed in capital punishment. A man of Middle Eastern descent was asked whether he was Muslim or Christian. People were asked who they voted for for president. …

    Hi Karol :)

If Newsweek is reading this right, one way for Obama to get military cred would be to announce his Sec if Def before the General election. Maybe Admiral Fallon? Y'know, someone who actually knows something about the military and, apparently, stopped an Iran strike before he was ousted.
  • LeslieB · 1 year ago
Fallon is a Bushie. The only reason he opposed an Iran strike was because it would stretch the military, which is already stretched. In other words, he was only against for logistical reasons.

    AdrianBrowne,
Love the quote and thanks for the link.

    Obama/Bloomberg?

  • mirth · 1 year ago
    LeslieB:

What evidence do you have that Fallon is a Bushie? Fallon called out the "accidential" loading of nuclear warheads that were flown across the country in an apparent US/Israel collaboration against Iran, and (probably because of that) he was forced out of his CENTCOM position for defying Bush.

I'm interested in how you connect Fallon to Bush policies.
