    I have a wingnut sister in law who writes for major newspapers. She was going to do a huge piece on the dangers of allowing gay marriage, but she couldn't find enough material. And she was trying very hard!! She scrapped the idea.

    I'm not a fan of Bill O'Reilly in the least. But I have to give credit where credit is due. He gave the guy every opportunity to give an answer. The guy's answer was essentially "it's always been that way;" or marriage should only be between a man and a woman because marriage IS only between a man and a woman. O'Reilly then, rightfully, said: "You're going to have to do better than that."

    Um, I, uh, just don't like it, okay, and therefore, i.e., uh, to sum it up, well, all people must live by my rules! That's just the way it needs to be. What's so wrong with that?

    My husband and I have been married for 25 years. My sister in law and her lover will be getting married in California as soon as they can get the licence (June 17). I am in no way threatened by this; my marriage is in no danger because two same sex people who love each other want to make the same lifelong committment that I have. The guy on O'Righty who could not come up with reasons against gay marriage will never understand that there are no reasons to be against it. How sad that he's even trying.

    It is interesting that the person attacking gay marriage rights, and who is referred to as a "Family Law Attorney" has a pretty checkered past. If I am not mistaken, Don Schweitzer is California attorney Donal Phillip Schweitzer of Pasadena . If true, he lost his job as an Orange County District Attorney, and was suspended from law practice for felony assault against his wife while they were engaged in a custody battle. Odd spokesman for protecting the 'sanctity' of marriage.
