AMERICAblog: George Will goes hard left, leaves Democrats in his dust

  • gonzalez · 1 year ago
I keep saying that most of the democrats don't have the courage to tell us what we need to hear or do what needs to be done. Just look at Iraq!. They've seen the republicans win by telling the voters how great everything is going.

The blogosphere has been screaming to high heaven about this. I, for one, have complained we should never be calling our system "capitalist" when the only people who don't get bailed out are the poor. We live in a capitalist system, "may the best man survive" when it comes to the middle class and poor. When it comes to the rich, they fail UPWARD! I know many who have been complaining about this whole socialism for the wealthy bullshit. Point taken as far as Democrats are concerned. We sure as hell don't need George Will telling us how unfair our system is. We need our Democratic representatives championing it, unless of course they are enjoying the system too much, themselves... (which, I'm sure, is the case)

    "gonzales"

Remember all of us screaming about Iraq and how angry we were at our representatives being a bunch of little scared children and voting with Republicans?!!? I do.

Our Democratic representatives have been their own worst enemies. Case in point, Hillary Clinton. By trying to look tough, she has proven she doesn't have good judgment. The rest of us were WARNING our Democratic reps not to go along. Every single one of them that have been enablers need to be voted out with the Republicans.

Gawd, is anyone watching Keith Olbermann? Hillary Clinton isn't doing herself any favors with her calculation that laugh of hers will get her off the hook in re: well, anything. Keith is asking her about her Richard Mellon Scaiffe connection and she is cackling like a hen. Her laugh is offensive, sounds weirdly calculating and ridiculously inappropriate when being asked serious questions. Someone needs to tell candidates they need to stop acting so glib during this election cycle. Things aren't going so well, for the average American, and their giggling and laughing when asked serious questions makes them look foolish and trite. This American would like our candidate when asked a serious question, to straighten up and ANSWER IT! One thing to remember. The President is Commander-in-Chief and, yes, they are a civilian but they also need to have some military bearing when answering questions and not be giggling like school children.

"Will argues that as a condition of accepting Fed bailouts, the banks' executives should agree to restrict their pay to $124,010, the maximum for federal civil servants."
    What a novel idea!

cowboyneok, I've come to think that Hillary's cackle is her "tell", seems to happen when she's the most uncomfortable and is about to LIE her ass off...

Hey "sukabi1" - ya know, I think you're right. I'd fold if I were playing poker with her and she started giggling like that. It certainly made me uncomfortable listening to her.

It's sad that it should come as a surprise to left wing bloggers that a conservative such as George Will would oppose a government bailout. These Republicans have been calling themselves conservatives for so long people actually believe them. True conservatives don't favor the rich over the poor (though if you're a betting man, you know which one to pick). No government bailouts go against what an honest conservative believes. This is how screwed up our porltics have become, when we can't recognize a basic position for what it is. All conservatives should be angry at this balilout, more so than liberals, who typically see a larger role for government controls.

    Absolutely LOVE it!
and the great thing is, the principle is already WELL established by Bushies...any organization that even mentions abortion gets no money, states that don't go alone with national ID don't get money for roads, etc, etc.

The principle is found all over with the Bush administration, let's hold feet to the fire to make them either make it consistent, or give some valild reason why not.

    Remember, I said VALID....

That is what the old conservatives really were about. The conservative movement is dead. What Rush L. Bushco McCain all are not conservatives. They really need a new label that does not even contain the word conservative in it. "CORPORATE ELITISTS?"

Today's corporate executives would never accept such a puny salary because ill begotten gains are their primary means of measure. If these Republican big boys were forced to use concrete measurements such as an honest balance sheet or a wooden ruler, the results would be woefully inadequate.

cowboyneok & sukabi1: Yes indeed I was watching Keith and his confrontation with The Bitch and beyond being mindlessly angry with him for giving her yet more airtime, the CACKLE again raised my hackles. She's been criticized for this before and I can't understand why she continues to think it is an appropriate response to ANY topic she really doesn't want to deal with. But then one might as well ask why she thinks that talking louder and longer and more emphatically and nodding her head will have some positive effect. It betrays what can only be called her contempt for the electorate; increasingly she reveals herself as despicable, a liar and opportunist. No wonder she is so quick to praise Insane McCain while knocking her own party opponent.

If Obama was smart, he would pick up George's talking points and make them his own ,..... before McCain does it.
