AMERICAblog: Get our blog posts via Twitter, and a question about Facebook RSS

I use facebook mobile and think it would be cool to get post announcement text messages when new stories are posted. I don't do anything with RSS, so no help for ya there.

Okay, the thing is that you can use RSS to feed the blog posts via Twitter (which I did, all you have to do is join our twitter feed), and via facebook, but it's how to do it via facebook, and how to do it wisely, that I'm trying to figure out.

    Hi,
You could build a Facebook app that contains your feed of blog posts. Probably the easiest thing is to use a quick widget that goes into Facebook as an app on something like Widgetbox (free) or Blogfuse (paid). Or you do something on your own, basically you make a wrapper for your feed that works as an app on Facebook. If you want some more advice or help, let me know.. it'd be pretty straightforward to make.

Sorry, I just can't go near anything named "Twitter." What a godawful piece of branding.

My two cents, which may be incorrect: You should probably get a web programmer familiar with the Facebook API to build an app for you. Simply creating a "Facebook" user won't work very well, I think; you don't get notified of your friends' every action, so some of your Facebook friend Americablog's posts would get missed. By building an Americablog Facebook API app, you'd be able to push your content to anyone who'd installed that application. It's kind of tricky to program, though, and requires your own server space to host the app.

You can just stream the blog onto facebook into "notes" . That's what I do with my blog. So basically the posts show up on your wall and get into people's front page streams if they allow them. Not sure if that was what you were thinking.

On the wall on your personal page, click on import with the RSS feed and you can see all the options

I got the hang of Twitter quite late but now I do find it very useful.

I have also been using this new similar tool called Fidjit. Read the related article at http://stockmode.com/tech/post/Fidjit-Twitter-b...

It is quite like twitter with a few add-ons, do check it out.

The thing that bothers me about Facebook is that, according to the agreement you sign, they own your content - anything you post on your Facebook page is theirs to use in any way they like. I'm not sure if that applies to content within a widget that happens to be on your Facebook page, or only content that you post directly on your wall or elsewhere in your Facebook account.
