Thank-you Chris for reporting on this. I've been asking John for some time to talk about this young lads plight. I mean this kid was 15 years old, a child soldier. This tape was taken when he was just 16. They keep calling him Mr., well he maybe a Mr. now as he is 21. Frankly I think Mr. should be reserved for adults not children.

Too bad Chris didn't report more of the story and Khadr's background. At 12 I was working for the family business running heavy equipment. He murdered at 15 and glorified in it! I would like him to hear from the family of the American he killed, and then maybe he will do the right thing and slit his wrists!

Yeah asshole, before you make those statements give some references. BTW, this is a child after all. The crime here is brain washing. The adults, his father... are at fault. It's child abuse IMHO.

Actually he was shot in the back and the US military has been forging "evidence" to make him guilty.. the Canadian gov has already found examples of it.

Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Spent $200M To Buy Influence
    in DC

The Politico has an article today detailing the influence Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae have bought in Washington over the past decade. The government-chartered companies had to get bailed out by the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve earlier this week. To read more about the bailout go here. To read about the millions spent on Washington lobbying see an excerpt below or go here.

There will be a reckoning. Uncomfortably, the entire nation is accountable. That includes us.

When he was caught after throwing a grenade and killing an American soldier--his family in Toronto where he was really raised were all shouting "allah akbar"- for they are known as the "Canadian Taliban". His father was a very close friend of Osama bin Laden, his one brother was killed in Afghanistan fighting Canadian and American soldiers another brother was killed somewhere else, and another brother is being tried in Canada for terrorist activities related to suspected planned bombings! I have seen the family many times on Canadian tv spouting all kinds of murderous type activity to be espoused and glorified!
They showed him in one tape crying for his mother but didn't show the other tapes where he bragged about killing Americans and Canadians!
He was alot of talk till he got caught and now has reaped what he has sown! I don't want to here about child soldiers- his case(rich western family ISN'T the same as kidnapped child soldiers in the Congo or elsewhere in Africa!
The only reckoning should be a demotion for whoever took him alive! He should have been shot down like the dog he is!

and you are full of shit....I hope you have no children of your own. Yes he had brothers, older. However, the problem here is the parents and not the child. As far as I am concerned this is as bad as child abuse and child slavery...enslaved by his father and abused and forced to do these things.

pretty sure that most americans still have no clue about the horrors commited in their names in the past 6yrs, not too mention the leadup to it going back to the 60's with the CIA torture 'science'. we are even worse than mengele from the nazi era - at least his acts were known. not sure how they will ever clue in.

We invaded a country and one of our soldiers was killed there, and they are charging the guy with murder? That seems a bit crazy to me.

There were 21 children in Gitmo, one as young as 11. They were tortured and hung by their wrists, with their feet and toes barely touching the floor.

    Guantanamo Disgrace
The shocking video of 16 year old Omar Khadr under interrogation by Canadian intelligence agents in violation to his child status and in complete violation to UN's convention on child soldiers is a shame for humanity. Some of Khadr's wounds were still raw and seeping even though he was captured several months prior to this interrogation. The unconscionable comment by a Canadian interrogator that "you are receiving pretty good medical treatment" has shocked most Canadians. In fact the entire world is shocked as can be gauged from the linked article:

    http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,2144,348920...

The Canadian interrogation was chilling enough but it was probably a great deal more civilized than what American interrogators would have subjected Khadr and others inmates to. Thank God for Canadians courts giving us an insight to this hell hole called Guantanamo. Stephen Harper needs to step up to his responsibility and have Khadr brought back to Canadian judicial system.

Guantanamo is George Bush's shame and this is his legacy. It is time to shut it down. The military tribunals are a farce. If the inmates are guilty of terrorist acts, try them under criminal law and if innocent, let them go.
