AMERICAblog: GM chops and chops and chops and chops

Universal Health Care, and now! I would like the same coverage Congress has for themselves.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
I'm growing more and more concerned about how Cheney is going to afford all the health care he requires after he leaves office. The health care the government has provided him for over seven years is in the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars, provided gleefully by the American taxpayer.
He's going to have to steal oil money at a much faster rate in order to afford what he has been provided.

No worries, I think they continue to receive the same "free" health care when they are out of office. It's a sweet deal considering this rich man could well afford paying for it himself rather than living off the country's benevolence.

Wasn't GM bailed out by the government in the early 80's?

Aww...what a shame for GM...quelle domage...fuck you GM...you had the EV1 all electric car in the late nineties...you teased a bunch of fanatics with some bullshit lease deal in CA....then you retrieved them all and sent them to the crushers....because you fucks played golf with Chevron and Exxon execs and they basically told you to fuck that electric car idea...we want people driving on gasoline. Well it's too late now. They fucked you but good. You all are playing a dangerous little game with the GOP, the Bush Cabal, Houston execs. And you are playing with dynamite...

Fuck you GM. Rest in Peace. I hope you die. You had a chance to really make a fortune selling little EVs all over the place and you deliberately killed it.

"They have no disregard for human life..."

Dumbass on terra-ists at his attempted Obama teevee blockade/presser...I'm sure GM took heart from the Decider's "faith" in our psychological economy...

Kerry, it was a Chrysler bail out in the 70's. I was there.

Bostonian Queer - "fuck you GM"? - regardless of your opinion of GM decisions regarding their products and financials, your lack of vision for the remaining employess is appalling. If GM dies, the number of people that will be thrown into the streets here in Michigan and around the country will be stunning on the already battered economy and yes, YOU. And, by the way, there are many gays and lesbians who work for GM and other auto companies.

Why would you wish that hardship on them???

    Tell me, please?????

Oh, Chrysler. Thank you. I was pretty young at the time but do remember the huge issue of the feds bailing out a car co......
  • Bubbles · 1 year ago
Not exactly a bail out. The government co-signed some loans. That made the interest rates cheaper. Chrysler paid all those loans back, and ahead of schedule. The government didn't spend a dime directly on chrysler.

GM could have pressured the govt to get single payer health care but didn't. They marketed Chevy Suburbans and Tahoes as what "real men" drive while our boys die in Iraq

devlzadvocate; your right. The workers suffer because management don't have a clue what the consumer really wants. I have a buddy working in a dealership nearby. He said that a recent survey the got from head office said the number 1 request of consumers is "How many cup holders". I asked if it was remotely true , he said he is always asked Gas mileage. never had anyone ask about cup holders.
At any rate, the workers get it up the end. They will lose their benefits, health care and their pension in short order. The company like the others in the big 3 are doomed. They have been out managed by foreign companies and the executives who have big stock options and have taken huge bonuses for years are sitting around with their dicks in their hands. CEO Rick Wagoner was paid $14.5 million in 2007. I would have bankrupted the company for $45K. This is where America is at. We have corporations who are mismanaged by unethical, incompetent asswipes and the american worker is the one held accountable. A co worker mentioned this story at break this morning. He blames the workers because they get paid $55 an hour or some such crap. I told him if that was true it is a good thing because they might have saved a few bucks to survive on.
The boys at the top survive, everyone else is looking for a straw cause the pond of shit they are swimming in is getting deeper.

Only the Wall Street and Banking crowd should vote for McSame and, of course, those who can be fooled yet once again by the Republican divisiveness and slime machine. The logical results of the upcoming election ought to be the greatest landslide in our history given what has been done to this countrry by the real elites during the past 7+years.

Maybe ImBev could buy GM instead of A-B? GM is cheaper.
