AMERICAblog: Goldman Sachs well below quarterly earning estimate

  • RonNYC · 1 year ago
Just a question: With over 94 million visitors, does the Obama campaign group ever contact you? Do they ask for advice?

My feeling is whatever is posted here on Americablog...sort of becomes a talking point a week later.

I wish that were true. I've just taken a look at Obama's site and not a mention of the meltdown. Today in the Times Bob Herbert discusses McCain's "health" plan. This and the GOP attack on Social Security should be front and center. Really, I just don't get it. Just don't. I think if you picked randomly 5 Democratic supporters they could run a better campaign. Obama must read comments like these; they're not hard to find. Is this going to be Dukakis 2? Even worse, it would be like Roosevelt losing to Hoover.

Is it playing on tv or just the internet?

There should of been a FULL PAGE AD in the Washington Post.,,,,THEN someone like me would have the full page and make a poster out of it.

Well, that's an improvement, as short as it is. But really, there's just so much more they can do, as I mentioned: Social Security, McCain's phony health plan. Perhaps they believe they know more than we do. I haven't seen new polls: Have they changed at all? I know that Daily Kos saw some good news in Palin's numbers but really, that was just minor stuff. Has the Obama campaign tried to figure out what it is about McCain/Palin that holds so much appeal to independents?

not being a member of the campaign i have no idea.

i am assuming the ad is runnng in toss-up states.
but i live in a solidly red state, so i have no idea what the civilized world is watching.

and yes, i agree they should do more and get much more aggressive. just saying they are not silent.

Idiot America does not understand anything more complex than what Caribou Barbie is wearing today or what McSame's wife chooses for her faux Chanel. Idiot America only sees a skinny black man with a Muslim middle name. That is all you need to know about why the polling data is so close.

O.T. Chris, check out the new CA budget proposal that will increase the withholding takeout from paychecks to help offset the state's debt. RepubCo gets to claim no new taxes but that's only because they are accelerating the removal of existing taxes. Sounds rather Ponzi. And very scammy. I've got less money in my paycheck but they claim no new taxes. Huh?

I'm so friggin' fried over the lies and distortions of the Republicans, this twisted thought just popped into my head: as a ground attack pilot in Vietnam, the only candidate in this election with the blood of scores of innocent children on his hands is John McCain.

Hmmm. Henry Paulson is the former chairman of Goldman isn't he? This would be a major conflict if they have to "help" Goldman.

Talk to enough experts and you can find out a lot of info. Turns out Goldman Sachs knew it had problems seven years ago. However, deregulation allowed them to skate past those problems.

Somewhere from the depths of the Republican Party I hear the words, "Let them eat cake"!
