Obama admin's OPM, headed by a gay man, reportedly blocks lesbian from getting health benefits
He's gone.
You be da man, Michael Steele. You be da man!
He had to be doing this as a slap in the face to the rightwing nutjobs and fundamentalists who have taken over the party. If the republicans are ever to be relevant again, they'll need to cast off the Jesus Party moniker, of which abortion and stem cell research are just dog whistle code for ANTICHRIST. Steele is publicizing his 'moderate' bona fides. He'll be able to use those cards later when the inevitable Rushpublican implosion occurs.
Smart, ballsy, or just pissed off? Would like to see more of it from the other sheep in the republican flock.
Enjoy.
I think much of what Steele has said wouldn't be that bad, if he had some strong support, or perform some miracles like the Republicans winning one of the Houses of Congress in 2010. However he is babbling when the sharks are circling before this, and the doubt was already there about Steele. The Republicans want order and power. If Steele is alienating all Republican factions, or saying contradictory things, he is going to have to resign.
Missime, I liked your post. Here's another one: Gov. Stanford of South Carolina wants to refuse a large portion of the stimulus to his state, and SC has an unemployment rate above 10%, one of 4 states in the nation to be in double-digits. He claims it will hurt his state more in the long run if he accepts the money. Trouble is, people don't eat in the long run, they eat every day.
