There is no scandal. Gay Republican Governor Crist is not closeted. Like eveyrone in Florida, he's discreet. Not only is always-tan, John, he looks great in a polo shirt. He knows it, too. As for the likes-women publicity, well, you see, Republicans have this need to lie to themselves about basic issues. They have that right. It changes nothing. Governor Crist is very handsome, slightly sun-burned, and everyone understands. He's musical. It's a Southern thing.

The closer Senator Obama gets to the actual nomination, the more Fox News competitors, CNN, MSNBC etc. sound just like Fox News.
But just had this thought as I listened to Wolf Blitzer describe his upcoming segment w/James Carville, Gary Hart & someone from Obma's church.

Yeah, and folks like Liberace and Rock Hudson were chick magnets. I've even had a woman propose to me insisting that she didn't expect any sex, she just wanted a husband. Let me assure you that during my years of blissful fag-haggery – again, to use your term -- there has never been a time when I did not enjoy a satisfying and fulfilling heterosexual relationship with a delightful male of my selection while engaging in serial and multiple close friendships with my gay-male friends. Moreover, there has never been a moment of conflict or subversion or sycophancy among any of those relationships, gay and/or straight.
Finally, if you can find a heterosexual male who is willing to pay many hundreds of dollars for tickets and who has the fortitude to sit through Wagner’s complete Der Ring des Nibelungen -- or Alban Berg’s Wozzeck, or Lulu -- I would like to meet that man. I’m sure he must exist out there somewhere in the planetary universe, but I’ve yet to meet him.
But, hey, not to worry, because I have my opera-loving, ballet-loving, chamber music-loving gay-male friends on speed dial…and vice versa. Actually, we go to movies and baseball games, too. Go figure. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That wins the award for THE most uncomfortable fake smile I've ever seen on a closeted conservative posing with a "lady friend." ("Hold it...hold it...hold it...got the picture? Good!" *Shoves the lady aside to flirt with the hot young male bartender*)
The thing that frustrates me is that when these guys are finally outed, it's always in some skanky predicament, like Foley stalking children online or Haggard taking meth and sleeping with a male prostitute. THEN we get the fun of the media associating things like pedophilia, prostitution and drug use with these guys being gay...
When do we finally get the powerful politician who gets discovered having a secret life of..of...of weekends spent in a secret suburban home with his male partner, their adopted kids and three dogs? (Ok, so I'm going a bit over the top here, but seriously--why is it always the child-stalking and the prostitutes whenever a politician is outed?)
