AMERICAblog: GOP staged fake military funeral for their convention

  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
And is the mainstream media reporting this story? No, of course not. Filthy bastards.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Michael Moore said it best in his Oscar acceptance speech: a war waged for fictitious reasons by a fictitious president who won a fictitious election.

Now a fictitious war hero and maverick and a fictitious Christianvalues hausfrau, who is a fictitious reformer and fictitious maverick, want to impose a nasty Dry Drunk's fictitious reality on the rest of us for four more years.

    GOP fake Patriotism. Sick indeed.

I'd like to ask Bush and McCain why they want to dishonor our soldiers killed in war by flying them into Dover Air Force Base after dark.

Anyone who votes for these people is sick too.

If it is the REPUBLICANS then you can bet its FAKE!
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
The republicans, their convention, their lying talking heads, their fakery are all boring the hell out of me. I can't even be that mad as they are coming across as so ridiculous.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
well... it IS illegal to use troops for a political purpose (although, that never stopped chimpy) such as a commercial.

what DISGUSTS me about this thing is...

HOW DARE JOHN MCCAIN HAVE THE GALL TO USE THE IMAGE OF THE ARMED FORCES FOR HIS PURPOSES WHEN HIS VOTING RECORD SHOWS HE DOESN'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK FOR THEM!!!

this is going to be slammed by the MSM... to which they'll reply, 'he's a former soldier! he was a POW!!!'

he should be disgusted with himself.

I just read that Obama will probably raise approx. $10 million or over by the time of McCain's speech. Ain't bad for 24 hours, Palin is a very negative person, just like the repugs.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    Yep...
$8 million raised since Palin's speech from over 130,000 donors - on pace to hit $10 million by the time John McCain hits the stage tonight.

I haven't donated yet and I am tonight...I have been saving it for McCrazy's speech.

That meshes nicely with the fake Thanksgiving turkey for the troops.
The fake Jessica Lynch rescue from the Iraqi hospital.
The Pat Tillman friendly-fire cover up.
    etc.
    etc.
    etc.

Howard Fineman just dropped a BOMBSHELL on Hardball. He said the McCain campaign is trying to intimidate the press and control and force them to be "nice" to Sarah Palin and not ask Palin tough questions! WOW!

The McCain camp SUCKS SO BAD they are afraid to answer questions of the Fourth Estate so they are trying to control the media just like the Soviet Union did PRAVDA.

Now how is that any worse than Obama's Styrofoam Grecian columns?*

    *caveat snarcus
  • roooth · 1 year ago
God, if you can't figure that out, you must be a Rebuplican. Seriously.

Although, maybe this explains the GOP's absolute lack of concern for the real military lives that are being lost in Iraq. They aren't any more real to any of you than styrofoam, are they?.

And, before you get too snarky, remember that W used a similar stage set in 2004 to accept his speech. It's a stage set, nothing more. And, unlike the GOP, no actors were used to pretend to be burying dead American soldiers.

Last night Jon Stewart showed two clips of Rove, One explaining how Gov. Kaine had no experience to be Obama's running mate because he was just a governor and the other explaining how Palin is qualified to be McCain's runing mate because she has been a governor.

Now you're being snarky at Obama in the same hypocritical way.. But, what's worse, you're doing it to distract from the very real topic of the death of our troops being used as political backdrops for the GOP, intended to whip up fervant patriotism to keep them in power and allow them to keep our troops dying into the next century.

And you wonder what makes the left angry. This is it, right here..

'Snarcus Caveat'... So sorry if something was lost in translation. I totally agree with you on this issue. Go through my previous posts and I think you'll agree that I'm not A Repug. And thank you for your lengthly post. it shows you care. If I hadn't given up on America years ago, I'd be voting for Obama. Now as a member of the rest of the world, I still care.

I thought troop funerals were off limits. But faked ones are somehow ok?

Fake or not, Rovian political tactics work.

Seeing them using the Towers going down (for what, the 10,778th time?) made me almost vomit. But I wasn't surprised.

and Republicans who were NOT in uniform were saluting the American flag. It is VERY inappropriate for men who DON'T EVEN HAVE A SERVICE CAP on their head to salute the flag. Its devalues those people who ARE in uniform and it also promotes an inappropriate image of militarism. The military regs say any member NOT in uniform is to place their hand or cap over their heart when showing deference to the flag.

Of course, the only time anyone would EVER have a problem with breaking military regulations is when a Democrat does it. If a Republican does it then everyone just nods and ignores it.

I also loved the reference to Martin Luther King. Oh yeah, McCain has proved himself to be a huge fan of King, giving him a national holiday and... oh wait a minute...never mind!
  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
Well we all know that the Republican Party is the only patriotic pro veteran party. Interesting since the President does not even allow the media to report on actual funerals.
