AMERICAblog: Got a question for John McCain? He's doing a tele-Town Hall meeting at 7:00 PM for Virginians tonight at 7 PM

Hey John McCain, do you remember what you had for lunch today?

What do the voices in your head say to you?
Polly_Tics

Dear Senator McCain: Why do your eyes bug out when you don't want to answer a question?
Is that smile from a happy marriage or just gas?
When you hire someone to work for you, why is it that everyone else working for you hates them?
Do all of your friends exhibit elements of disorientation or is it just because you like the company?
Do you believe that the country is suffering from a mental recession or a mental lapse?

McCains first wife, he left her for a shinny new girl when he hit mid-life family crisis point. Somehow I think the same happened to jr as this is all the he/she (my bet is she) ever posts about.

Are YOU going to need to be wired for the debates with Obama?
Who answers the phones at your houses at 3 in the morning?

I guess these hearing will go nowhere too. We have had so many investigations and hearings about the criminals in the WH. Rove has been arrogant and defiant, and refuses to turn up, and these hearings seem to be staged events to make people happy. Who has been held accountable so far?
Careful! Dialing *67 blocks caller ID, but does NOT block ANI, which is what toll-free services use. You can dial *67 all you want, but if they have the right things in place (likely), they will get your phone number. If you're worried about it, it's definitely best to call from a pay phone, assuming you can find one.

The one thing nobody thinks about is that the north Vietnamese were more humane than anyone else in the region. As much as I dislike John McCain, I'm still glad he didn't get the Khmer Rouge treatment. Sadly, that's legal too now.

My Q:
Sen. McCain - you have repeatedly said the "surge" was working and Iraq is improving. Now Mr. Maliki wants a time table for withdrawl of US troups.
If the war in Iraq is going so well, why not turn things over to the Iraqis?
ShirleyGoodnessanMercy
If the surge is going so well, why are those 5 million Iraqis who fled for safety in Syria still not moving back home? And if it's working so well, why is there no electricity there? And why doesn't McCain buy his 9th home there to vacation in?
true... Russia (especially the new head of Russia) doesn't really like us right now...
... and they're still a bit pissed off that the US trained bin laden and his 'terrorists' that drove Russian out of Afghanistan.
unrepentant_expat

Considering (Remember the Maine) McCain's inability to recall most of what he's ever said, he should be asked to respond to one of his own outrageous statements but inaccurately attributed to one of his advisers and then asked if the person who would have said anything this outrageous should be expelled to Belarus.

I hear he has trouble keeping his lies straight:
Asked what first comes to his mind when he thinks of Pittsburgh, McCain chuckled, "the Steelers. I was a mediocre high school athlete but I loved and adored the sports but the Steelers really made a huge impression on me particularly in my early years."
And then McCain told a rather moving story about his time as a P.O.W. "When I was first interrogated and really had to give some information because of the pressures, physical pressures on me, I named the starting lineup, defensive line of the Pittsburgh Steelers as my squadron mates."
"Did you really?" asked the reporter.
"Yes," McCain said.
"In your POW camp?" asked the reporter.
"Yes," McCain said.
"Could you do it today?" asked the reporter.
"No, unfortunately," McCain said.
Here's one reason he likely couldn't do it today -- the Steelers aren't the team whose defensive line McCain named for his Vietnamese tormentors. The Green Bay Packers are. At least according to every previous time McCain has told this story. And the McCain campaign just told ABC News that the senator made a mistake -- it was, indeed, the Packers.
off topic but, did you know that Bush pressured Merkel over the Obama speech in Berlin. The german newspapers and the news broadcast for the evening reported that this was the case. That is why she suddenly has a big up her ass over Obama speaking. And why the rest of Germany is po'd at her for being Bush's lapdog.

From towleroad.com:
Alabama Attorney General Troy King Preparing to Resign Over Gay Sex Scandal?
A spokesman for the Alabama Governor's office has denied that Alabama Attorney General Troy King is preparing to resign as rumors swirl of an explosive scandal involving King, his wife, and a male aide:
"The word is, according to multiple sources in Montgomery and elsewhere, that King was recently caught by his wife in a gay affair with a male aide and banished from his home. According to Tara Hutchison in the executive office of the governor they have heard of no plans in the works for King’s resignation. She said she had not heard that he had been kicked out of his home because of a gay affair. Governor Bob Riley’s press office had refused to return multiple phone calls from this independent press outlet even though some sources accuse Riley of perpetrating the leak. The attorney general’s press office also declined to return phone calls seeking comment."
King is apparently a big homophobe who called homosexuality "the downfall of society" in a 1992 editorial in the U. of Alabama's Crimson White.

LOL, heck now that would be interesting!
But you know, I actually had a food co-op in my basement and lived in a house with 7 people, so it was pretty darn close to a commune (just without the bad food).
And you can always borrow my shoes...
mirth

I'm a good cook and I love to bake. We'll spend a lot of our time making delicious food - carbs and fats, each to their need - while the country ambles on down the road to complete destruction. Pffffft on fascist government and their enablers. Let them bake their own damn cake.
I was born in the wrong year, Polly. I'm envious of your experiences.
PS: I dig shoes, too. 8 1/2?
Polly_Tics
Wow, fancy that; I'm a really good cook as well (even used to cater when biz got slow on occasion). So this could be a great pairing and one where we will keep our cakes to our own damn commune.
The 60's were a great time to be young, everything was so new and different back then; even though we had certain similarities to today's culture. We had Viet Nam, drugs, worries about being spied on by the government, conventional family structure issues, a new sexual awareness and we wanted to do it all differently. THAT was both the problem and the sweetest part of the era.
By the way, I wear 8 1/2 - 9, so we are on track darlin'! I hope you like heels...
mirth
Some of my heels are 9 and I have killer stilettos. We can play dressup! While we cook!
Until the country wakes up, let it crumble. In our paradise, we'll all be phat and mellow and fine.

Now THAT does sound like a paradise to me!
Hope you like jewelry to go with those shoes while we cook....
mirth

Oh hell yeah on the jewelery thing. We will sparkle as we slice 'n dice.
Hey! I'll bring my long black feather boa, too. You can wear it on MWF and I'll wear it TTS and Jeff/expat/Daniel/Busboy can haggle over who gets to wear it on Sunday.
Polly_Tics

Now that would be one hell of a Sunday!
Polly_Tics

LOL Mirth, but you are far too young to remember any such groups! I was never much of a commune gal myself, I liked to lock my room when I wanted to be alone and was never much of a fan of brown rice (plus I always had a bit of a fetish for nice shoes which was not looked upon in a friendly manner).

My question: Senator McCain is anti-choice. So what pro-family policies will you institute to help families? Universal health insurance? Affordable, quality day care? Livable wages so parents make enough at one job to support their families? More generous maternity/paternity leave policies? What?
