    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!

    there IS a goddess!
  • Webster · 1 year ago
And that Goddess is named Rachel Maddow! As far as I'm concerned, this is the best news since the resignation of Richard Nixon.

Will Dan Abrams appear on MSNBC in another slot?
  • MarkoSparko · 1 year ago
Comcast moved MSNBC from channel 31 - standard cable - to channel 183 - a digital package... those b*stards. Of course, CNN and Fox are both still on the basic cable lineup. I still get the channel, but it still sucks! (Pittsburgh area BTW)

At least you can get MSNBC. I switched to Verizon FIOS earlier this year. Here in northern NJ, due to some agreement MSNBC signed with Cablevision years ago, Verizon is not allowed to broadcast MSNBC, I almost switched back toCablevision. It really pisses me off.
  • MarkoSparko · 1 year ago
I'm sorry to hear that! I wonder if you can stream MSNBC somewhere?
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
i DVR Countdown with Keith Olbermann every night.
I will certainly do the same with Rachel's show.
If I am near the computer I can watch Olbermann online at
    countdown.msnbc.com

Yippee! I was in Seattle at a forum put together by am1090, and Rachel was there. Afterwards she was signing stuff and taking pictures with people, and I told her "MSNBC needs to give you your own show!" She said "I'll tell them that." We both laughed.

I bet she already knew. ;) I'm thrilled they're finally doing this. And the show had better be availably thru itunes, like Countdown is. That or I get a dish, since I have the dreaded comcast too.

I can't wait! I wish she was replacing one of the other schmucks like David Gregory or David Shuster!

    Take that Rick Davis!!!!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Yes. I bet pat bucanhon is pissed. And joe Scarborough. Maybe now Air America will give Sam cedar her timeslot.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
B-b-but! What does Rick Davis, Nicolle Wallace, and the McCain campaign have to say? Is it just going to be 5 more hours a week of bashing a war hero-victim-former POW? Did Phil Griffin run this by the head honchos at General Electric?!
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
This is good news. Baby girl is about as sharp as they come. I'm tired of watching Abrams and his jackass Republican panels. I hope she has a no-nonsense show about the issues that matter.

    YIPEEE!!!! At long last!

An OUT Lesbian has her own cable ******SERIOUS NEWS****** show...FINALLY....way to go Rachael....one of the most brilliant woman on the tubes.
  • jixter · 1 year ago
Yes! This is happy news! KO said that he didn't know whether her new show would be shown twice in the evening - but to hell with that! Why doesn't the front office at MSNBC get smart and begin showing KO and Maddow IN THE MORNING as well as the evening. Why limit this delicious honeytrap to Prime Time?

Congratulations, Rachel! All the best to you!
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
Barack is on cnn live stream right now giving a speach in Raleigh N.C.

the speech is a his normal format and so far he has thrown in a few zingers at McCain.
  • MElouise · 1 year ago
    Oh this is TERRIFIC news!!!
  • AlGoretex · 1 year ago
Keith and Rachel. There's a one-two punch for ya. She's really great.
  • DavidinChelseaMA · 1 year ago
There's a DIGG listing on Crooks and Liars for the Rachel Maddow promotion. We need to DIGG THIS UP TO THE TOP.
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
    Wow, this is great news!

I never could get into that Verdict show. Abrams is only OK at best, but his regulars and guests are mostly horrible. And then when he drifts off to that FOX news type stuff about missing girls, Paris Hilton, etc., I turn him off. Still, if it were up to me, I'd bump him to 10pm instead of getting rid of his show entirely. I'd rather watch Verdict than a re-run about pedophiles or murders.

As for Rachel getting a show on MSNBC, we now will have a heckuva time trying to defend MSNBC from those who say it's the liberal version of FOX. The one difference will always be that MSNBC does not present the actual news with a liberal slant as FOX does with their conservative agenda. But, having three Democrats/liberals in a row (yes, Matthews is a Democrat) from 7pm to 10pm, it's going to be hard to refute the claims of liberal bias.

Well, all I can do is add my own hallelujah, since all the good words have already been taken. One of the best deeds KO has done is to bring Rachel on as a commentator and her a chance to get established on MSNBC. She's been really excellent in every way. What a nice change. Goodness and reason take root and expand in the universe.

    YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and we get the added bonus of NOT seeing Dan Abrams after Olbermann. I can never get to the remote fast enough when he comes on.
  • Patriot · 1 year ago
    YES!!!! Great decision from MSNBC!
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
Wonder what Abrams did to tick someone off? They sure are in a hurry to get rid of him. But then, I wonder if Pat Buchanan will appear on Rachel's show as he did on Dan's? Rachel usually gets the best of him.

Can a gay man fall in love with a lesbian?
Wow, she's intelligent, attractive, and nice. Plus she has positive-attitude & fun personality!

    Congrats Rachel! YOU DESERVE IT!

    Change is a coming .
    Living it and loving it!
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
    Hooray!!
Rachel is smart funny and scrappy. She is fantastic. I enjoy and admire her and my teenage daughter was so happy tonight when we saw the announcement on Countdown. She will bring humour and intelligence to the debate and she will not let the right wingers get away with anything.

Believe it or not but this was leaked in the Advocate magazine that came out yesterday in a small three or four sentence blip about Ms Maddow. Someone at the Advocate new this days ago for it to appear in print. I am so excited I can't wait to see what she does with her own show. I'll bet it will be better than anything we've ever seen.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
I am so happy for her.

    Go Rachel!
  • DavidinChelseaMA · 1 year ago
I've always liked the segment on her radio program when she scratches at "the soft underbelly of the right-wing scheme machine."

She pushes away all the right-wing, and neocon b.s., and exposes their lies and all their nonsense.
