AMERICAblog: Great reviews of Obama's speech

  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
I loved the speech, but he never touched on The Patriot Act or holding Bush accountable for his crimes. We need meat!
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
The meat will be served, hang in there. Sarah Palin is McCain's VP pick. McCain went for the Hillary voter's. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure she's bright and capable, but after only more than a month as a governor of the state of Alaska--could she step in and lead.

She's no match for the likes of a Joe Biden! I think this is good for the Dems.
  • MrsTarquinBiscuitbarrel · 1 year ago
Palin will say, "I have a Down syndrome child," when McCain isn't saying, "I was a POW." I can't wait for the Veep debate; Joe Biden will turn her into a small pile of ash. She'll mention her child, he'll mention that his first wife and daughter were killed, fer cryin' out loud, and then go on to real issues.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
She has a young child and it has Down Dsydrome?

Dr, Laura will not be pleased...that a mom with a child like that is going to spend that much time away from her child?

You won't see Dr. Laura giving high praise....I know I Know it's Dr. Laura..but still....they even loose Dr. Laura's support.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Dr Laura is a Republican who makes over 250k a year. Her tax breaks mean more to her than any physcho babble she inflicts on her moronic listeners.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
And unlike Biden who put his kids before his political career, Ms Palin baby is only 4 months old with severe challenges and she uprooted her to be the token vagina on a losing ticket. Typical GOP values. Pro-life only until they are born, then they are on their own. I can't wait for the majority of Repug men who have such serious penis issues voting for the first VP (next to Cheney, of course) that truly has the best chance of stepping in as Commander in Chief with such an old President. They need to get a mighty large strap on for Ms Palin if she is going to appeal to the skin heads and fundies who believe women are there only to serve their men. LOL

Even worse for McCain, I think Hillary was a potential undercover ally, but McCain reared way, way back an administered the worst slap in the face he could. I still don't trust Bill, but McCain guaranteed that Hillary will do everything in her power to defeat McCain ... the McCain/Palin ticket. McCain has to be far, far ahead of Bush in the dunce race. I don't think Rove was advising McCain or if Rove was, Rove is too blind to realize how angry this will make Hillary.

Hold on....were are only just finished cocktail hour.....

The dinner Party has just started....all the guest have now arrived.

    :) :)

Wow. I honestly cannot remember so many traditionally antipathetic pundits ever complimenting an 'opposition' speech like this. Can this be the turnaround? I hope the gloves come off a bit more, actually, stop saying nice things about McCain and just light into him some more. It works!
  • MrsTarquinBiscuitbarrel · 1 year ago
    Yessssssssssssssss!
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    excellent.

and now the GOPer ticket is set as another ultra-conservative, far right, bush-loving train wreck about to happen.

    no thank you very much.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
And, of course, Peggy Noonan gave the ultimate Republican praise, saying Obama's speech was a a "FLOP-o-lini." Many, many, thanks to Noonan.

Wasn't that the end all? I could NOT believe my ears when I heard her comment on the speech. Actually, the others on the panel had their mouths gapping open when she said it.

Except Andrea of course...she defended the speech a tiny bit but then giggled with Miss Piggy.

    Sarah Palin??
Michael Palin would be more qualified and he's a .......lumberjack! (And he's okay...)
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
LMAO! That was my favorite of their skits...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    A couple of things...

Just learned something else. Chuck Todd just announced McCain loves playing dice. Nice. We all need another President who gambles with America's future. That's just great... It is VERY OBVIOUS, McBush likes to gamble by picking an inexperienced governor from the boonies in Alaska. He could have picked a U.S. Senator from Texas, Kay Bailey Hutchison, and he picked HER?!!? Wow, BAD JUDGMENT!

My take and feel free to comment...
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
psst, cowboy, even McLame isn't stupid enough to pick Kay, but he sure could've picked Condi...at least she has some experience...and a brain.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Hey, I'm no fan of ANY of John McCains possible VP picks, but you have to admit Kay is better than this pick. This is just a BIG GAMBLE. Its no secret McCain LOVES to play dice and he is rolling the dice with America's future. I think we've had enough disastrous gambles taken this last eight years.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
The speech was all of that and more. It was the singular best speech I have ever heard. I was awfully young when Kennedy made his, but this one meets what I remember and exceeds.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
What are those cheerleader's shouting at the V.P. event on MSNBC? Do they have the crowd shouting, "LAME MCCAIN? LAME MCCAIN?"

It sounds like the crowd is shouting, "LAME MCCAIN! LAME MCCAIN!"

    LOL

Andrea Mitchell needs to shut up. She is really showing her partisanship again. She is trying to call this a REAL game changer. Whatever, Mrs. Greenspan. Dream on.
  • dreadpiraterobert · 1 year ago
Bill Kristol didn't call it "generic?" Stop messing with my mind!

I bet he's already writing an article on how McCain's speech was FAR better...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Its obvious McCain is gambling again. He loves to gamble, and needs to stop gambling with our nations future.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
When FOX and Pat Buchanan review the speech like that, well, its beyond a home run.

By picking Palin, McCain just split his party again. The Mormons are fuming! Utah just went from bright red to pink. LOL
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
McBush can't say he is going to change things when he has been PART OF THE PROBLEM for so very long!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Uh oh! THERE IS A HECKLER in the audience! LOL
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
What he hell is going on there? WHY isn't MSNBC panning over to show us what the commotion is all about?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
McBush is speaking through it, trying to make it seem like there isn't any protesting.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
WHAT A GAMBLE... This will be the NEXT President of the U.S. when McCain kicks off from a new facial tumor. She just doesn't have the experience.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Andrea Mitchell, "John McCain is appealing to women across the spectrum..."

No, he isn't, Andrea. Don't lie.
  • dula · 1 year ago
Damn I wish I could enjoy this moment. I defended and promoted Barack for months against Hillary supporters as they mocked him and his speeches. I lost friends over it. Then came FISA, which was a kick in the gut but was I over it and ready to finally relax and enjoy our success. But now I can't get over Joe Biden. Of course there was the Bankruptcy Bill he voted for and then during his speech the other night he talks tough against Russia for defending itself against US inspired Georgia aggressors, as if we weren't already in a modern day Cuban Missile Crisis...but digging deeper I find out that during the build up to the Iraq War Biden refused to allow Scott Ritter, the weapons inspector who many based their correct conclusion that Iraq had no WMDs on, to testify before Congress...he also promoted the Neocon party line saying Saddam threw out the inspectors, an outright lie...lied again saying the inspectors said Saddam actually had WMD. Seriously, there wasn't a better pick for VP. This makes me question Barack's intentions, agenda, and judgement as we sit perched on the edge of WWIII
  • Dusty · 1 year ago
Sound like you may want to go for McCain. He loves fear tactics too.

Then you can rest assured...McCain would love nothing better then WW111
  • Reason0Politics1 · 1 year ago
Flowery rhetoric aside, dula, your'e right. I truely want to have hope here..i swear i do.. but lesser of two evils still gives us evil. mcsame is truely dangerous, but obama has proven almost as bad.

two sides of the same fascist coin

With this speech we see a new man named Obaminton (obama+Clinton) .This obamintonian approach regarding The ME attains how nuch success is worth waiting .
