AMERICAblog: Hacking victims review legal action against Murdoch's News Corp

Not only bracing from lawsuits, but taking preemptive action to escape from the fallout...

    http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/090709/world/bri...

I heard this story on NPR driving home tonight. News Group had already settled out of court to keep this story hush hush...

This is a case of one tabloid [guardian] trying to out the other... problem is the other hired hackers to illegally invade the privacy of citizens just because they can?

And it isn't just an isolated incident... NPR reported that a few thousand (2-3 [,000]) people were spied on.

I honestly can't say that I'm surprised this goes on... It reminded me of when hackers accessed t-mobile years ago and got Paris Hilton's entire phone book.

BTW.... you posted an article a few weeks ago about Obama creating a CTO "czar".... how's that going?

I thought it was always OK to hack into people's private conversations and emails. Isn't that what the Bush and Obama administrations have argued? Or is it only OK when it's the government doing it, without a warrant, to innocent people? Funny how these big wigs are all perfectly fine when it's George Bush spying on them but get all bent when it's Rupert Murdoch. Remember, if you haven't done anything wrong, it's OK to have your privacy violated. Doesn't that make you feel better?

Who's ok with this? Rupert Murdoch sided with Bush... the guardian is clearly not OK with this. This has nothing to do with the government spying on people [take off the tin foil hat]...

Can you clarify what you meant? Who are the "big wigs all perfectly fine?"

Yeah, OK I was being IRONIC. Our entire media and elites didn't give a damn about George Bush sifting through people's underwear drawers because they thought they were immune, being white skinned and Xtians. NOW, when it turns out someone else is actually targeting THEM for the cavity searches, they're getting all pissy and offended. I say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you don't like someone spying on you, take a stand for basic freedom, don't just decide you don't like being treated like a dusky, heathen prole.

And I'll take off my tinfoil hat when you grow a sense of humor.

Damn, does Rupert Murdock think he is Dubya? Hacking into ones personal cell phone, phone, computer is Illegal. Remember the NSA were famous for listening in our conversations. The Right to Privacy, could be a thing of the past. I believe it is sad but true.
