Good God. "American Idol" now part of our political discourse? Good God. I have lived in the media age too long. (I am only 57). I have finally seen, what John Guare wrote about in his brilliant play "House of Blue Leaves", the final merging of fantasy and reality in television where the audience is now so blurred that an "idol" star and a terrorist are being discussed in the same breath. God myths will meld with evening weather reports...local blood and gore murder stories will dovetail with Jesus second coming myths.

Pathetic. The modern USA is pathetic.

I wouldn't be surprised if Archuleta was a robot designed by terrorists.

A listenener called into Ed Schultz on Air America this afternoon about a Roswell, GA newspaper that
had a picture of Obama on the front page with a rifle scope on the front of his chest.

I just googled it and found the illustration and this:

llustration of Obama in rifle crosshairs draws fire

A Roswell newspaper is defending a controversial cover illustration that placed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in a rifle's cross hairs.

An influential liberal blog featured a post Tuesday on the provocative cover art, triggering a flood of complaints to the Roswell Beacon, a nascent free weekly distributed to about 65,000 north Fulton
residents. The article was published May 15th.

    This is absolutely appalling.....
and is exactly why Hillary's comments are inexcusable....
If she is so brain dead as to not know any better ....she has no business in any political office period.

And I don't understand how a newspaper can get away with it either.

Thanks richieville, for clearing that up. It was the "Today at TPMCafe" section of your TPM profile that made me think otherwise. Love your fake news blog!

By the way, Archuleta is saying that he is still running for American Idol and still expects to win. In an interview today in South Dakota, he reminded everybody how pop idols Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and the Big Bopper were killed in an airplane accident in June of 1959.

    "Anything can happen," added Archuleta.

This proves that Archuleta was too young and inexperienced to have won.
