AMERICAblog: Has any journalist interviewed fellow "journalist" George Stephanopoulos about Hillary and NAFTA?

  • Webster · 1 year ago
Just so we don't forget in the middle of everything else: the American military death toll in Iraq stands at 4071.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
    You're kidding, of course...
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
Here is a great article relating to George Stephanapolous, and anyone thinking of voting for Hillary should consider what it says.

Are you taking notes now, George? by Stephen Kaus

Does Stephanapoulos have an enemy list?

Hillary will never allow George to do it.

Mommy doesn't allow Junior to go out by himself.

Stephie was on the outs with the Clintons for a long time after he left the Administration and wrote a book about it.

He's now trying to get back in their good graces by supporting their lies and attacking Obama.

    He's a pathetic little worm.

I am not impressed with Hillary's thuggish and gutter tactics. It seems many of her supporters are.
I do not think winning by bending the rules, and playing Rovian tactics are impressive. This is how Bush won, and look at the mess we are in. If a candidate like Hillary can act like she is from the gutter, and throw the toilet sink at her own fellow Democrat (similar to Bush vs. McCain), and keep changing the goal post, to suit her failed campaign (notice, she is NOT the front runner?), then lie, exaggerate, and pander, to win, I do NOT think she is worthy of the Democratic nomination. The lies and the vicious attacks keep reminding many of the tactics used by the Bush administration. Her baggage, although rummaged, still has hidden dirt underneath. She is divisive, polarizing, and her negatives are HIGH.

It is time Hillary obliterated her campaign.

This is the "top" story on AOL (I kid you not):

    http://news.aol.com/story/_a/virgin-mary-appari...

So, the catholic church is able to determine that a delusional teenager in France almost 400 years ago actually saw the "Virgin Mary"? Did "Mary" Cheney promote this adulation of the "immaculate conception" mommy to grease her own wheel?

I guess people in France are just as stupid as in the US, hey? After all, they did elect Sarkozy...

You say Stephanopoulos is such a stooge for Hilary, what about the grilling she got about the gas tax from him
  • dad · 1 year ago
allpeopleunite, it is a throw-away issue.
they both know it. it allowed the appearance you speak of.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
allpeople, that wasn't a grilling, it was a collaboration.

    OlderAndWiser - said better.

    Small thinking by Georgie.
  • Smarmy · 1 year ago
George Stephanopoulos is NO journalist. He's a Clinton toady who had his old boss pull a few strings to get this useless piece of waste a job! He's now saying 'thank you' to Bill.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
OT, but sadly, 4,000 people dead in Burma, and almost that many missing. See that story alongside the survey about apparitions...(boy, is this country in trouble, too!). Every loss of human life is a tragedy, but we judge tragedy differently in this country, where the loss of 10 lives or less due to storms is equal to thousands somewhere else.

I mean, can you believe this crap? Totally mind-boggling, just like the Stephie interview of Clinton..

"Or is George still too intimidated by his old boss to fess up? "
    -------------------------------

Oh, I don't believe he is intimidated, I think it is more along the lines of "join me and I will make it worth your while."
  • Monrocsol · 1 year ago
Hillary was absolutely wonderful in answering questions. Unlike Obama that is lousy in giving specifics.

Keep on pimping for Obama, and you'll hand McCain a victory.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Pimping for Obama, oh you must be a racist asshat.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
This blurring of television news and politics is very ugly. The only winners here are the corporate media, Hill-Billy, and the Neocons. The American people lose. I first voted in 1972. And just about every year since I have had a bumper sticker that read "Vote No for President". A few exceptions.

Our system sucks. We should have had a Parliament. This locked term system allows you to fuck the American people for four, six or eight years. You have a set time frame to rape and pillage.

"I'm your Joe Lieberman"-George to Hillary

Speaking of interviews, Obama was on Fox&Friends this morning. He said that he'll also be appearing on the O'Reilly Factor. These politicians make me sick. They're all alike.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
No responsible journalistic organization would allow a journalist to "interview" his or her old boss. It's just conflict of interests, especially when the two were involved in behind-closed-doors wheeling and dealing.
  • TimRusso · 1 year ago
great pont. just posted on it.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
speaking of journalism, why can't any of them link up the story coming out about the seventeen men in Texas prisons, so far all black men, who've been found innocent by DNA evidence after being wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for years and years and years.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/05/02/60min...

Jeremiah Wright is exactly correct to stand up and point out the crooked systems of justice in this country that have disproportionately hurt the black community.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
In some fairness to Georgie, he is not the only journalist being manipulated and dancing to the Clinton's tune. Anyone watch MSNBC lately? I believe they are all on the Clinton payroll except for Keith.
Before they are allowed to go on the air they are dunked in a vat of Clinton koolaid. So are the 'experts' they interview.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
As I recall, Stephie didn't do the Clintons any favors in his book about working for Bill. Why is he now?

    ---

It's too bad, but it's probably necessary when you're campaigning in North Carolina and Indiana.

Even the independents watch Fox News in states like that.

I have asked this same question myself. Why does another jpurnalist have to ask George this question? Why can't he just come out and say what he knows on his ? Is there some rule in journalism that a journalist isn't allowed to rport what they know. Does a journalist have to report what someone say or claims without challenging it even if they know somehting for a FACT?

Oh and to your claim tere has been little evidence of Clinton's claims to have been against NAFTA in the White House... She has been backed up on this by several other staffers who were there at the time including Dee Dee Myers and David Gergen. Obama supporters just refuse to acknowledge anyone who lends any support to anythign Clinton says.

Sen George Mithcell, who led the N. Ireland peace talks, says her acoount of her ro;e there is accurate. You don't care.

FactCheck.org gives her credit for her work on SCHIP, you don't care.

So even if George S. comeas out and acknowledges that Hillary was against NAFTA in the White House, you won't care. YOu'll just claim he was bought off....

    Bingo!

They gave him the silent treatment for a long time after that and, I'm sure, made it clear that this is his chance work his way back into their good graces.

Wouldn't be surprised if some job was dangled before him too.

Everybody in the Clinton circle backs her up.

Everybody outside the Clinton circle doesn't.

    Who would you believe?
  • NCMan · 1 year ago
    Bush Bites,

When did Sen G. Mitchell become part of the Clinton circle? When did FactCheck, org?

And again, why speculate about what George S. knows if you won't believe him anyway?

Re her NAFTA position in the White House. How would you expect anyone OUTSIDE the admin to know what her personal position in the admin discussions was?

re SCHIP. Sen Kennedy at the time of passage said that SCHIP would not have passed without the work she did in support of it. What does he say now that he supports Obama? When ask directly about his previous quote, he refuses to comment.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago

    She gave pro-NAFTA pep talks.

    There are records of it.

    ----

    You're the one quoting Stephie.

    I'm saying the guy's probably a liar.

Something Billary would have said about him as little as 6 months ago.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Shit.

Why am I arguing with this person.

    Everybody knows Hillary lies.

She's been documented lying time and time again.

Saying Hillary doesn't lie is like saying a snake doesn't hiss.
  • KansasModerate · 1 year ago
David Gergen, who served in the White House during part of the Clinton years, has repeatedly said on CNN that inside the White House Hillary opposed NAFTA. Since as a pundit he tends to tilt toward Obama I doubt that he's saying things in effort to make Hillary look good.

Once her husband made the final decision to push for passage of NAFTA in Congress, she loyally went along. But Gergen and others offer evidence that she did try to block the decision.

I would very difficult to win an election without fox viewers.
  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
alexa...Why wouldn't he appear on Fox and even O'Rielly? Millions and Millions of voters watch Fox, the they, who lean slightly left or slightly right are the folks who elect Presidents. It's not the 30% far Left, or the 30% far right, (both of which hate Fox) it's the 40% in the middle that are needed to become POTUS. Without Fox viewers, he's done.

fox viewers sound so reasonable, so fair, so balanced to hear you tell it.

    what a crock.

When Hillary appeared on his show, Obama supporters were calling her all kinds of names. Now that Obama's going to be on, that's a different story.
