AMERICAblog: Hateful bigot Marilyn Musgrave, who lost by 12 points, hasn't conceded yet

  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Musgrave has to go back to her job in accounts payable.
  • Fireblazes(cheetohsandcatfood) · 1 year ago
I hear the Mormons will hire her.

My neighbor across the street would not take down his McCain/Palin sign. So we stuck an Obama sticker on it, he took it down right away.
  • Millineryman · 1 year ago
I'll call her office on Monday and suggest she look towards the Mormons as career option since they are merchants of the same hate.
  • bkmn · 1 year ago
Gee...did her version of Jeebus fail her in her quest for power?

Sorry Ms. Muskrat...you spew venom, some of it ends up on you...

Busboy, is that an endorsement for welfare?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    No, just a song title....
  • FNReedie · 1 year ago
Is anyone else saddened by the fact that neither Obama or Biden have made a statement on "No on 8"? I realize its a state issue and therefore not truly in their domain. But, that didn't stop them from stating "While we're against gay marriage, we against this measure." It'd be nice to have them throw us a bone ... especially given how every No on 8 rally is out there chanting "Yes We Can".
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    One thing about McCain.

He's the only Repub who shows any class when he loses.

He really should have left that party when he still had a chance to make something of himself and before he got trained to regurgitate every crazy Repub talking point.
  • fostert · 1 year ago
    "It's a little bizarre."

Not for Musgrave. If she did something gracious or even normal, that would be bizarre. As for working with the Mormons, that's not happening. She may be a religious extremist, but not all extremists are the same. In fact they tend to hate each other. She thinks Mormons are devil worshipers. I'm not sure where she's going, but she's not going there.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
"She thinks Mormons are devil worshippers."

I hate to think we've got something in common. Now lets see, 'an enemy of my enemy is... hmmm, a lot of enemies?
  • fostert · 1 year ago
We all have something in common with the most reprehensible people. I used to be a vegetarian, just like Hitler. Now, I'm a Buddhist, just like Pol Pot. And yes, the enemy of my enemy concept creates a lot of enemies. But we should all consider this: the friend of my friend concept might create a lot friends.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Hitler wasn't a vegetarian.

    That's an urban legend.

He ate a vegetable heavy diet because of stomach problems.

Well, they shoot "Moose & Quail", anyway...
  • Joneses · 1 year ago
    She did not win!
  • fostert · 1 year ago
As a Coloradan, I'm still in a bit of a tizzy over that. She's not from my district, but it was still embarrassing.
  • MikeinSanJo · 1 year ago
Of course Marilyn wouldn't be gracious and accept it. She's a "Christian".

If the situation were reversed, it would be "the Will of God" that Betsy was defeated. Not so much when the results aren't anything "Sister Xtian" wants to hear.

Maybe she should check in with the Moonies. Same "religious" superstitions, MUCH more fabulous wardrobe!! Crowns and Capes ane Ermine & everything!!
  • Mighty · 1 year ago
Awwww Marilyn don't go away mad... just go away!
  • LeftCoastOracle · 1 year ago
No class. She has no class. This confirms the good judgment of the people in Colorado's 4th district.

Let's face it, christian extremists behave in extreme ways so I guess we shouldn't be surprised that Ms. Musgrave has followed suit.

I know you don't want to read this, but it takes time, and money.

Money have the power right now in Gay rights , and it's done by fear.
  • RomanFingers · 1 year ago
Gay rights here in California have all the money? Why do you suppose that the New Haven, Connecticut headquarters of Roman Catholicism's Knights of Colombus sent $1,600,000.00 dollars 3,000 miles across country to join with the "heretical" Mormons to crap on the aspirations of 1,000's of gay folks in love? What "fear" were these self-righteous Catholics shelling out their hard-earned dollars to confront? The "terror" that some citizens of the USA might "do" things differently in the privacy of their homes & (Heaven forfend!) bedrooms? Grow up & mind your own business. "Miscegenation" was once codified as a criminal offense in 16 states of the Union. Do we really want to re-invent the wheel as to whom we allow the blatantly understood blessings of what "marriage" fully means, by duplicating a parallel universe to symbolically remind our fellow taxpayers that they are intrinsically "different" and therefore "apart" from the American body politic?
  • tacitus · 1 year ago
Another little tidbit to relish.... James Dobson specifically mentioned his disappointment at her "regrettable loss" during his election post-mortem radio broadcast.

What's bad for Dobson is good for America.
  • GrMtGirl3 · 1 year ago
I respect other people's right of choice and I think it is what makes America so great. I cannot understand nor do I think it right that people are told by their pastors who to vote for . . . This is pounded into them and they are made to feel as if they sinned if they do not comply. this is wrong !
  • RomanFingers · 1 year ago
Yeah, I see where you're headed, but there are so very many folks who line up on the side of "M" when it comes to political "S&M" doncha' think? (That's a Palinism, straight from the deep freeze of a state with a smaller population than the funny little city right-wingers love to hate: San Francisco.)

    OT -

AIG's $85,000,000,000 handout becomes a $150,000,000,000 handout and the "repayment" terms are relaxed.

    http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081109/aig_bailout.html...

Soon it will be forgiven. Also, watch the $700,000,000,000 bailout soon go to a few trillion, after all AIG, one company now will receive more than 20% of the current bailout total. The pigs are feeding at the trough and slop is needed now.

A typical Republican sore looser . . . What else is new?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Argentina appropriated all private pension funds this week. Barney Frank wants to roll all IRA's into social security. I think we're seeing a worldwide trend here. You can't employ a 250,000 domestic paramilitary force without paying for it. All you suckers with IRA's and 401K's better get in line at 'Jiffy Lube'...
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
    250,000 domestic paramilitary force?

Do you live in a balloon? Haven't you been listening to what the man says? I'm worried about you, tb. You gotta listen up!
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Again sources and links, otherwise you sound like Joe the Plumber trying to defend his agreement with the statement that an Obama presidency will result in the destruction of Israel.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
OK, tb, the next time I get a link on it, I'll save it for you. Your lack of knowledge on one of Obama's campaign planks is monumental; unless you're just putting me on.

Got anything beyond a quote and lunatic speculation as to what it means? Those guys must live in the same room as you. I'm still not sure whether it's lined with tin foil or cotton padding.

I'm guessing it's lined with head level boxing gloves that keep knocking them out.

Alex Jones and Prison Planet, the primary purveyors of the 9/11 was an inside job theory. In Austin Alex is on AM radio Sunday evening just before Art Bell. I prefer Art Bell.

West of the Rockies go ahead.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
It was national news for a day and repeated after the campaign. No major news outlet kept track, so, that's what came up on google. Do your own research. I'm not your librarian. You choose to be brain dead; I don't.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Okay, I understand. By the way your boy Alex Jones is a lunatic and a paranoid fuck full of dipshit followers. Do you need a cite for that proposition?
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
I guess the next step is opining that the government will outsource these matters to private entities like Blackwater, but this time the Nation of Islam will provide the manpower.
  • fostert · 1 year ago
I'm not worried about you, Busboy. If you're not already blogging from a padded room, you will be soon. You'll get the help you need soon enough.

Hooray for the thousands that took her down.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Musgrave also hasn't conceded the race, said Markey spokesman Ben Marter. "She has yet to admit defeat," he said. "It's a little bizarre."

    "It's a little bizarre."

Why, yes, Marilyn Musgrave IS a little bizarre.

    OT:

A friend of mine just sent me this description of the protest in front of the Mormon Temple in Oakland.

    Dear Readers ~

What a wonderful day today was, with people coming together all over the place in support of Equality for All! Our protest outside of the Mormon Temple of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in Oakland began with about ten of us at 9:30 a.m. and grew to five hundred by mid-afternoon. It was a beautiful day for a protest! Sunny and gorgeous!

At the outset of the day, some Temple members were entering the gates of their temple, however, when it became clear to the church leaders what was going on outside their gates, and what their members were being greeted by, within a short amount of time, the church leaders called off services and closed the compound to all traffic.

Several church officials, along with members of the CA Highway Patrol, stationed themselves high on a hill looking down (literally, and in the case of the LDS'ers, most likely figuratively,) at our band of protestors at their front gates. Then, they were able to get the Oakland Police to totally block the off-ramps from Highway 13 so that none of our fellow protestors or anyone else could get off on the Lincoln Avenue exit and witness the shame of the Mormon "Church" of Latter-day Saints, and had to go up to the next exit. (Whatever happened to separation of church and state?!) As a result of this, I asked everyone there who had a cell phone to get on it and call the media and let them know what was going on, so that the Mormons could not hide what they have done to take away the fundamental Constitutional rights of others. And they did! After a short wait, we had Channel 7, NBC, KPFA, and others there as a witness. ;)

During the time when the exit ramps were blocked, a group of us took our flags and signs and stood on the highway overpass so that people below knew that we were at this exit.

Among our protestors were people from all walks of life: the LGBT community, straights, the young and old, families, etc. We even had several former Mormons, one of whom was even third-generation Mormon, one holding a sign saying "Gay Mormon" with a quote about equality from The Book of Mormon. He gave me a card with a web site specially-designed for Latter-day Saints and Christians, which supports same-sex marriage: www.GaysAndTheGospel.org. Another former Mormon held a sign saying something like "Who's marriage next? Muslims?"

When our group grew in hundreds, the police brought in reinforcements and lined the street, keeping people on the curbs. For the most part, the protest was peaceful, with the exception of a "Yes on 8," (Yes on Hate) in his beefed up truck, pushing one of the protestors in the street with his arm.

My favorite rants of the day were:
"We've come here to look at your cute Mormon boys!"
"If you can have five wives, why can't I have one husband?!"

Gee yet another uber follower of Jeebus casting aside all pretence of her We're Better Than You smugness and wallowing in sore loserdom.

    Good riddance to BAD rubbish.
  • ahg703 · 1 year ago
I just called Ms. Musgrave's Congressional office (Monday morning 11/10) to inquire whether she had finally conceded the race she lost six days ago, and her receptionist said I'd need to call her campaign office "because we don't discuss the campaign here." Of course they don't; it's too depressing! I told her to "stay classy" and then hung up.
  • VJBinCT · 1 year ago
So Betsy Markey should simply and quietly say to Musgrave, 'If you ever, EVER park in my space at the House lot, you're getting towed.'
