AMERICAblog: Hillary adviser called Indiana voters "worthless white n--gers," Stephanopoulos watches and says nothing

"anything's fine as long as you don't have a black pastor"-George Stephanopoulos
  • fastneataverage · 1 year ago
    Ouch!!
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
I am sure Cantor is not worthless financially speaking.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
It appears Cantor was not familiar with the "whigger" word, though this occurred well after Vanillas Ice.
  • Stroszek · 1 year ago
I'm not hearing the "worthless white nigger" part. Even when I crank the volume, I just get an inaudible whisper.
  • MoonDragon · 1 year ago
It came through clearly on the cheap headphones I'm using.
  • jgrant · 1 year ago
Kantor's speech is obviously despicable, and I hope Indiana voters see this episode. If you look closely, while Stephanopoulos doesn't say anything to Kantor's racist comment (which manages to insult everyone--how arltess is that),he does shake his head at Kanor, (arguably) suggesting mild approbation. Or maybe he doesn't want to be what Kantor just said..

Enough is enough!! As a community, African-Americans are SICK of Bill and Hillary's racism and bigotry. We call for national protests exposing the corrupt Clintons as nothing more than 21st century slave masters. Obama has earned the presidency, and no rich white woman has the right to deny him his place as leader of the world.

    WIN AT ALL COSTS peeps
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
Glad to see they finally uncovered the long-lost episode of "The Three Stooges go to Washington."
  • mossy1 · 1 year ago
Please, please, please send this to Keith Olbermann ASAP. Obama's campaign wouldn't use this, the MSM would be too slow, but Keith might get it out quickly!

As offensive as Mr. Cantor's remarks were, it's a silly stretch, Mr. Aravosis, to equate him and his remarks to William Ayers' terrorism -- placing bombs at the U. S. Capitol, the Pentagon and headquarters of the NYPD. We don't know whether Mr. Cantor regrets his offensive remarks but we do know that Mr. Ayers is unrepentant and expressed regrets that he did not commit more acts of terrorism.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
If guilt by association is a foremost point in Clinton's campaign rhetoric then i would say this clip is pretty damning.
  • Ksue · 1 year ago
Wow. Who filmed that damning little piece? Do we know where it came from?
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Hillary should quit the race just out of shame. Ooops. My mistake. Clintons have no shame.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
It's too bad the blogosphere doesn't have a fund set up to purchase air time at the same time This Week is broadcast this Sunday. . .and use that hour to feature clips of Georgie and Company to remind voters of his close connection to the Clintons.

Hmm...maybe a group of blogs can do that this Sunday on their blogs...
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Another idea. . .someone should send that little youtube video link along to some local media in Indiana...:-).
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
Hillary will not say anything. Until the media starts dong their damn job and hold Hillary accountable for this, make an issue of the voter suppression that is still uncovering more and more connections to the Clintons, the deal with China in regard to indiana jobs, ect., she is going to do nothing.
With so many very damaging things coming out this week about her and her campaign tactics, including Sid Blumenthals rightwing daily attacks being sent to the media in the guise of real info (see Huffington Post), you'd think the news would have a hell of alot more to talk about besides Rev. Wright.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Well, I'm not surprised, considering the not-so-thinly veiled insulting of blacks and their pastors by the Clinton campaign, in which Wright's more far out statements (like the AIDS one) gave them plenty to work with; you know, scare the shit out of white people. The over-produced Wright assaults, along with the constant demands for Obama to "disown" or "repudiate" Wright completely, haven't changed my mind at all about Obama. It's sad that this constant assault on their relationship fed into the inherent racism in this country--but the Clinton camp has been absolutely silent on the matter--of course, we know how their "loyalty" works--one way only.

They don't believe, obviously, that oppressed people have the right to express themselves, sometimes in hyperbole (who doesn't sometimes)...all the while ignoring the comments of "mainstream pastors" like Hagee, Robertson, Falwell, etc. who can get away with every single hateful (and wrong) comment (except for an initial small gasp and then silence), along with the Limbaughs and O'Liellys...both of whose shows the Clintons have appeared on.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
This surprises anyone? Most national politicians think this way, and most people from the coasts think this way about the people in the midwest.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
    Hillary Dear,

    STFU and DROP OUT.

    Thanks
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Well, yes, Jim, we working class folks in the south are used to so-called liberals' characterizations of us as "trailer trash" etc. As if money, prestige and power determines a person's character--wait! Maybe it does...and not for the better, as we've noted so often.
  • medium lebowski · 1 year ago
Poor Mr. Cantor. So afraid and hurt.
  • ChicagoKid · 1 year ago
    OH SNAP!!!

clink the linky-linky belw to make it youtube.com most viewed of the day!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN_nQOHj__s

Karma is a biz-natch Ms. SHRILLARY. I wonder how the poor, white folks gonna like being called the n-word. And what self-respecting black person would vote for her if people that work in her campaign feel this way about working people or people of Indiana, or black people? Stick a fork in her.
  • ChicagoKid · 1 year ago
Ayers doesn't work on Obama's campaign, MicKKKey KKKantor works for SHRILLARY's--er--Karla Rove's campaign.

Watch the video, MicKKKey KKKantor instantly knew what he said was wrong to say, but that's how he really feels. And he mumbles something about (paraphrasing) speaking in front of "friends" or people working on "their" side.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
And I think it was very revealing that the first interracial couple who challenged miscenegation laws in the US lived in Virginia, a southern state, too, a working class white guy marrying a working class black woman.

And almost every fully integrated neighborhood I've observed in NC is comprised of working class people--the only blacks in most all white, affluent neighborhoods are well paid athletes and in the past, redlining and "whites only" deed restrictions played into it--now, it's more of a de facto segregation based on old laws long overturned. Blacks and whites also worked in the fields together, farming, and in other occupations, and if not for federal and state laws designed by rich whites to keep blacks "in their place" and pitting working whites against working blacks, fomenting constant racism and fear, there would not have been nearly the racial strife seen in this part of the country. The southern ruling class has always done this, through slavery and into the modern era. It's what the ruling class does--divide and conquer, just as they're attempting to do today.

    to STROSZEK

I'm not hearing the "worthless white nigger" part. Even when I crank the volume, I just get an inaudible whisper.
    ------------------------

I hear it completely and clearly. It's really clear, and audible with headphones on. It's true. If after using headphones and listening to it several times, you still can't hear it, you might want to get a hearing test and/or get a new Miracle Ear--of course not covered by your health insurance.

It's amazing that MicKKKey KKKantor can offend so many groups in just two sentences. Indianans, people of color, working poor, and people who aren't racists. They fact that George Stephanie and Jamie CarVile said nothing about his slander speaks volumes about their lack of character.
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
If I'm not mistaken, the clip comes from the film The War Room.
  • ericgoldman · 1 year ago
I can't hear the comment either. Coverage at Huffington Post says the original footage is inaudible, and Kantor is saying this is some kind of plot.

As for me, I don't understand why we're just learning about this now. This film came out in 1993; if Kantor really said what is alleged here, wouldn't Bob Dole have mentioned in in the 1996 Presidential election?

I'll wait until the footage is verified by a credible source before deciding how bad this is.
  • GrahamCrackerDC · 1 year ago
I never would have imagined that there would be an almost disastrous scenario of vicious racism, racists, denials, name-calling, etc, etc. ALL ENTIRELY WITHIN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. It's embarrassing and shameful.
  • truthseeker · 1 year ago
I support Obama. I do not like the Clintons. I understand "what goes around comes around." I understand giving as good as getting. But, is anyone just sick of these "gotcha" comments? Look...the moral of this story is this: can't we just agree that we all say dumb things, bigoted things all the time. That we all do dumb things. That we are all imperfect. That we have friends who are imperfect. That we have friends who say things that are reprehensible. Can't we just agree that a comment is just a comment. (I have to say that, as a gay man, Governor Easley's comment was just a comment. Insert the word "wimp" or whatever. In addition, I have no idea what Sen. Clinton may have said to him in private.)

The bottom line is this: how the hell is this useful? As much as we rightfully lambasted George and Charlie and that Pennsylvania lady "Nash Whatshername" for the flag pin question, which is just plain stupid, doesn't this stoop to the level of flag pins?

I love politics...LOVE it. But I am beginning to suffer from poli-fatigue because of the constant barrage of silliness.

    Upon further review...

This is from the DVD, The War Room. The relevant part starts at about 4:40. The "white ni**ers" part is not very clear. After repeating many times, it is possible that he said "those people are shitting" (Bush's campaign) rather than "those people (Indiana voters) are shit". That completely changes the meaning.

And now we have this denial. Looks like we got this one wrong. I'm sorry I posted the first comment about it but give the Huffington Post and some Kos commenters credit for catching it.
  • ChicagoKid · 1 year ago
We need someone that is deaf or can read lips to tell us what MicKKKey KKKantor says. But is clear that "Those people are shit" in Indiana.
  • ClintonHater · 1 year ago
I totally hear worthless white ni... you guys are crazy. It is totally audible. Maybe you guys need to see an audiologist and get a freaking hearing aid.

    sounds pretty clear to me:

"those people are shit... how would you like to be a worthless white ni**er?"

    Updates:

Ben Smith at politico has updated his piece, saying he spoke to the editor of the YouTube video. NO ALTERATION, according to the editor.

UPDATE: I spoke to the editor of the video who said that he enhanced, but didn't alter, the audio in the second portion of the video. And the first clip is "no longer available."

Didn't Mark Furman of O.J. Simpson fame, also so he's never used the n-word!?!?! And he lied.
  • ChicagoKid · 1 year ago
p.s. And what does George and James have to say about MicKKKey calling the Indiana voters "shit?"
  • Asterix · 1 year ago
What the heck is an "Indinian"? I'm a native Hoosier, myself.

Maybe that's supposed to be "Indianian", but I always thought that that term referred to people from a city in Pennsylvania...
  • bodyguardguy · 1 year ago
I think this is case of hearing what you want to hear. I listened to the video and the only thing that outrages me is "Those people are shit", I didn't hear this white N comment.

I guess am not sure why people being called shit is alright, but N is not.
  • KansasModerate · 1 year ago
Why in the hell did you even put up the original post, Aravosis? It wasn't clear and very much open to interpretation (which, in your case, meant you would make it look bad for Senator Clinton).

I never did believe that Kantor used the "N" word. Many blacks insult Jews but it is very rare for a Jew to utter a slur against blacks.

We can always hope Mr. Kantor's threateed lawsuit is broad enough to include you, DailyKos, et al. Your post is missing something Mr. Kantor might appreciate and certainly deserves. It's spelled A-P-O-L-O-G-Y. But he won't get it, will he. The leftist loon blogs slandler, lie, distort, smear, whatever is necessary to try to destroy liberals, moderates and conservatives who commit either of the two great sins: are patriots or persons of faith.
  • MoonDragon · 1 year ago
Re Jewish people not commonly using racial slurs, I'm going to guess you don't spend much time in South Florida or Squirrel Hill, PA.

Do persons of faith include Rev. Wright, Louis Farrakhan, and Al Sharpton? How about Mr. Obama? Are Pat Tilman's family patriots? don't think I've seen any of them trashed here, so I guess they don't count.
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
so you pull both vedios, when only one seem to be docotored, I guess this is the same reason you don't talk much about the Peter Paul v. Clinton fraud trial.
  • Artie · 1 year ago
If you listen to it played backward at a slow speed, Kantor plainly says "reggin etihw sselhtrow" which is Yiddish for "And we buried Barrak". Try it if you don't believe me.
  • ChairmanMo · 1 year ago
I'm now having trouble hearing the phrase "I apologize to Hillary Clinton."
  • Gary SF · 1 year ago
I wonder if those 'shit' people are bitter?

Bill and Hillary Clinton: America's "white trash" first couple.
  • RevDrBillyBob · 1 year ago
    Gary: What you said.
  • Gary SF · 1 year ago
KansasModerate: The comparison is apt in that Obama has almost no affiliation with Ayers but Kantor is (and has been) part of the Clinton "inner circle" for decades.
  • Gary SF · 1 year ago
John, regarding the people of Indiana, Kantor clearly says that those people are "shit." That seems much worse than saying someone is "bitter" - why don't you repost the video focusing upon the "shit" comment?
