The Democratic voters of Florida HAVE been disenfranchised - by the Florida legislature. The fact that the DNC decided to punish those voters, rather than the democratic members of the State legislature has now come back and bitten them in their collective rear ends. This could have been solved two months ago with a second, DNC-sponsored primary - the money could easily have been found; I would have been happy to donate and I'm certain there many more who feel the same. This isn't going to be solved now until the convention when the Credentials Committee makes its decision. At this point, the only person who can "torpedo" Sen. Obama's campaign for the Democartic nomination is the Senator from Illinois himself.

We have all heard and read the DNC, Dean, Reid, Pelosi, Edwards, et al saying that this crazy woman and her ramblings are good for the party. Well I beg to differ. They will not try to stop Hillary because everyone is afraid of Bill and Hillary and don't want to confront them. The best thing to do, as with all annoying people, is to ignore Hillary. As the end gets closer and closer, expect her to get more strident and desperate sounding. The DNC and Jeb Bush colluded to disenfranchise the voters of Florida. both Iowa and New Hampshire also broke the rules and moved their dates up--and went unpunished.
The reason that the citizens of Florida are being disenfranchised are much slighter than the reasons that Katherine Harris and the Supreme Court disenfranchised Florida in 2000. It is not who wins that is as important as protecting our Democracy. The Democratic party under the DNC has done something that is truly destructive to Democracy in the United States.

One of the reasons that the DNC loves Iowa and want it to go first is that it is the state with the lowest percentage of Gay People. There are a lot of Gay People in Florida. It is # 4 in percentage of Gay people. The DNC did not want the voices of Gay people to be heard early. Just as they did not want the voices of the other minority groups there. There are a lot of Hatians, immigrants from Latin countries other than Mexico (such as Peru, Venezuela, Columbia, Dominican Republic), Older Voters, Jews and Transsexuals. The Democratic Party will be ashamed for years about disenfranchising our fellow citizens for rules that are much less significant than the rules the Republicans used to disenfranchise people in 2000. the Republicans disenfranchised a few thousand: Democrats disenfranchised 1.7 million.

Feb 5th, that interview needs to be front and center, Hillary did not give a dam about Florida and Michigan and she never talked about Super-delegates or making sure that every state and every voter had a chance to vote, until she started to lose. I heard on msnbc last night at the ruling on the 31st if Clinton's forces make too much trouble the party is going to give her an ultimatum. So, for now I would not look for much unless she goes over the lines. But, by the 31st and after, look for them to go after her.

This has finally put me over the edge. It is time to start punishing the groups that are supporting her. I have supported and donated to these groups, but henceforth I will not. Perhaps she will listen when her supporters start feeling some pain, and when they realize that the next Supreme Court opening is much more critical than Hillary's increasingly quixotic campaign.
