John, Not sure if you noticed, but the gay kid with the brown shirt with green "Hillary" in cursive standing behind her to the right was at the KY victory speech, same spot.
He's been yelling "Denver" all night. I bet he's staff or at least super-volunteer.

Camille Paglia said it best: "I agree that the male staff who Hillary attracts are slick, geeky weasels or rancid, asexual cream puffs."

thats what i am hoping for too. he would be an excellent counter to mccains image of being strong on iraq (which i cannot understand how any reasonable person can think that). especially with the gi bill he got passed recently. throughout webb's senate campaign in 2006 iraq was the forefront of his message. he even wore his sons combat boots (who was at the time stationed in iraq) while he was campaigning to remind people that he had a personal stake in the war. i think it would be a great choice.

Did you not just see her arrogance and hubris? She deserves all the approbation she receives. It is not because she is a woman, it is because she is unable to accept that she lost fairly. She has constantly tried to change the rules to suit her, she counts votes very strangely, and she refused a singularly critical moment to establish the party unity she says she will work for. I'm sorry, but Hillary is quickly becoming a tragic figure.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Symptoms The symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder revolve around a pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and sense of entitlement. Often individuals feel overly important and will exaggerate achievements and will accept, and often demand, praise and admiration despite worthy achievements. They may be overwhelmed with fantasies involving unlimited success, power, love, or beauty and feel that they can only be understood by others who are, like them, superior in some aspect of life.
There is a sense of entitlement, of being more deserving than others based solely on their superiority. These symptoms, however, are a result of an underlying sense of inferiority and are often seen as overcompensation. Because of this, they are often envious and even angry of others who have more, receive more respect or attention, or otherwise steal away the spotlight.
And, if she truly has a personality disorder, a key thing to know is that with all types of PD's, the person cannot change -- most therapies just don't work. They can't see themselves, or their problem, clearly at all. You know how when you have an "issue" you may or not work on changing it, but you do realize you have a problem. Or, you may be in denial, but a therapist could determine if you are in denial vs. having a personality disorder.
My father has a personality disorder and although he can identify some of his issues, he can't see the big ones, the main ones. The ones that are part of the personality disorder. I am not a professional in this area, so this is just my laypersons understanding.
So, if Hillary really does have a personality disorder we can't expect her to change one bit on her own. And, even with help, she may not change (it is possible, but not likely for a person with a PD to heal).

I think this finally settles it. Limbaugh and the other Republicans were right about the Clintons. They are some of the most dishonest, corrupt, conniving, traitorous, and immoral individuals in politics. I don't think I've ever agreed with Rush on a single issue, but I have to respect his instincts on the slimy Clintons. He was right from the beginning about them.
PeteWa

Rush has never been right about anything, ever. Regardless of how much Hillary is being insane, Rush has never been anything but theater and a shit stirrer.
Demhearts
I just meant to say that in the 90's, Rush said that Bill and Hillary were dishonest and conniving liars. They were all about the pursuit of power and the politics of personal destruction. Rush was at least right about seeing who they really were.
PeteWa
You must not remember Rush from that time period very well. All Rush ever did was make personal attacks that amounted to nothing. He never actually went after them for their actual flaws (and stating that a politician is after power used as a slur is ridiculous, of course they are they ALL are on both sides of the aisle, and the side aisles as well). Rush could give a shit that they were / are dishonest, because Rush is dishonest. It's a game to him, and always has been. As disgusted as I am with Hillary and Bill at this point in time, there is no way in hell I'm going to be led to believe that they are more dishonest than most, that they are more conniving or whatever. They both certainly lack grace and class, and quite a few policies of Clinton's were and continue to be disasters for our country, but the "reasons" Rush hated them never made any more sense than a pig with wings.

I usually put her speeches on mute, but tonight I listened in. She had a chance to make me lose some of the distain that I had for her over this primary season. But no. She couldn't be graceful. She couldn't acknowledge that Obama is the Democratic nominee. She acts as if Obama must consult with her and get her approval or get what she wants before she decides to maybe stop running. Well, fuck that. She lost. It's over.
She doesn't deserve to be considered for VP. They had many opportunities to make a play for that position and they failed at every turn. Within the last 24 hours, both Bill and Hillary have said -- or not said -- things that could have help mend the fences. So for-fucking-get it, Hillary. No VP for you.

I thought earlier today that IF she didn't concede tonight that we need to get very suspicious about her true intentions. And who is backing her in this destructive tantrum. Maybe it is just her, just her acting out her nuerosis. But couldn't it also be true that months ago, when she knew she may have lost the delegate count (predicted), that those who influence her may have convinced her (told her?) to stay in a damage Barack Obama as much as possible?
I truly have no idea, but I have a hard time believing this is all about her personality (disorder or not).

Oh for the love of God. As a psychologist, I can tell you that there are very few politicians who wouldn't qualify for a diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder, as broadly as you are applying the term.
What diagnosis do we confer upon a blogger who calls the favored candidate of millions of people a "nasty woman" and declares her mentally ill?
Are we going to have to endure more of this vitriole if she becomes the VP candidate?
lovepeaceandallthat
Oh, thank you person-with-a -graduate-degree-or-two for telling us feeble minded laypeople that most politicians tend to be self-centered. But you know what? There are plenty of politicians who aren't selfish enough to come even close to having narcisstic personality disorder.
We aren't referring to a "broad" definition of the term. We are quoting the DSM, which is as close as a lay person can get to determining a diagnosis. Yes, of course, we could be and probably are wrong about a true diagnosis for Hillary. Yeah, we get that. We aren't doctors. But the point is that many of us really do think she has a mental problem that goes WAY beyond what the average self-centered politician would present.
The fact that we are calling her mentally ill means that we are avoiding calling her things like "evil" and "the devil". Seeing her as mentally ill is to give her some sympathy and to see her as human. Hey, we're being nice here.
Oh, and she ain't gonna get the VP slot? Obama isn't CRAZY enough to do that!

This woman doesn't have the sense to be gracious in defeat. Absolutely no public manners on how to act. What's she going to do, take all her supporters and section off a state of her own so she can call herself the president of that state? I used to like her and look what she has turned into, a bitter woman who can't stand to be defeated and will not accept it. She needs to go away and learn some manners on how one conducts one's self when running for office. I don't like what I see and it is insulting to watch a grownup senator act like a spoiled child. She wants comments on her website, comments from us, I say let us give her comments. Let's tell her what she should do next....hmmm, GETTING THE HELL OUT comes to mind first...
I went there and took a look - the "comments" section is set up to make it look like everyone who posts there supports her. What is to prevent her from citing just the *numbers* of comments while ignoring how many of them were begging her to stop? So I didn't post there.

Oh God - Dude - WHY? Thanks. A lot. My head! My eyes! I went to that site I won't even type the link to because I do not want it in my profile history, - the one you mentioned - like the proverbial cat, or like Henry Cho would say, like in Star Trek to the planet Boldlygo. I am trying NOT to type profanities but it is hard to properly express myself without them, in this case.
Whoa. The partner(s) of a Narcissist have issues ALL THEIR OWN. The term "Indoctrination" and "Deprogramming" spring to mind. From the shorter list of non profane words. It is worse than Hillaryis44, which I just went to recently, just to see it, and it depressed me greatly. THat thinking beings with computers and minimal language skills could co all that, kinda a bummer.
I know blogging tends to attract those of like mind, but geez - I would like to see more evidence of said mind. I saw no evidence of fair posting, plenty deletion and much emotional piling on at the MOST INNOCUOUS non-offensive-to-Obama comments. Like I remember the movie "Heathers" being, save 'Heathers' was funny. I couldn't do it. I just couldn't. I got halfway and just got a pain overload.
I pick my blogs, the ones I read and the ones I dare to contribute to, carefully. They all support thoughtful discussion and variety and provide news of sorts. There is none such on H***********.com I sincerely think that any E-Mails that say what they do not want to hear will be wasted. So similar to Freepers I had to just stop. If I save one person from having a useless negative experience my typing will have been rewarded.
With friends like those, well, I don't think anyone really is served by friends like those...

Hillary is now going to demand that Obama give her the V.P.! She is alreadly trying to tell him what to do, as in having a meeting, when to have the meeting, what she wants at the meeting, and all this before she is even offered the V.P. position; can you imagine how her and Bill would be telling Obama what to do if she was the V.P.? This would be a nightmare ticket!! Not a dream ticket, no a nightmare! Surely Obama will not let down his supporters by letting her take over his nomination by telling him what to do already, and all this before she is even on the ticket! I know plenty of men who would love for women to take total control of this planet and try to save it before it is destroyed. Not all men are scared of women in power.
I wish the first woman president could actually be a council of women (maybe 5, 7, 13 women?) who would confer and grace us with great wisdom. It is only fair -- men have had their turn way too long.
See? I guess I AM a radical feminist. Yet I can't stand Hillary and love Obama.
Oh, and your right that Clinton is doing what Bushco does on a regular basis. But that doesn't mean she is being treated unfairly... wouldn't that mean that she has been treated fairly by the media? She has had plenty of opportunity to make an ass of herself. The thing is, we don't have to ELECT her if we don't want to. It is an ELECTION. Someone has to lose. You know I really dislike Hillary and how the Clinton's present themselves and conduct their affairs. However the Clintons are the Republican's worst nightmare, still, I think they might wet themselves at the thought of going up against them. The key would be requiring some sort of "understanding" regarding Bill's role. Obama could bring Hillary on as VP with his Change theme because he always talks about working with everyone and bringing everyone together and Hillary could be a major part of that. I think it could be a good fit under the right circumstances, that is the key. Also without elaborating she does bring a certain demographic to the General Election for Obama. The Repubs will be using 527s and God knows what else to run a negative slime campaign regardless of what McCain does, that is what they do when they can't win on merit alone.

I wanted to go to HRC's website, as she suggested in her speech, tell her what I think she should do about the primary race. My intent was to tell her to become a good Senator for New York, which is the office that she earned.
But her website doesn't give anyone that option. The only option, upon signing the message window, is to say, in big red letters, "I'm with you, Hillary, and I'm proud of everything we're fighting for." There's a "comment" section, but only after the mandatory "I'm with you" message is already given.
Now, what is THAT? Well the structure of the "message" suggests that you're in support of whatever Hillary decides if you send the message, your "comments" be damned. It virtually insures that the responses that HRC gets will be overwhelmingly supportive, with no real suggestions that she back out of her narcissistic quest for her private version of Hillary.
Pathetic and very dishonest, like the "I won the popular vote" lie that she repeated this evening.

scroll down to the bottom of that home page and there is a small "contact us" button and there is a page you can fill out to make a comment. You don't have to donate money or subscribe. I'm not sure who reads it, but I'm sure someone in her 'former' campaign will. Maybe if enough of us tell her to just go away, she'll get the hint. Oh wait, she's a Clinton, nevermind...

I did just send a comment. Thank you for letting us know how to do that, because I sure didn't want to send an "I'm with you message." This is the copy of what I did send - Hillary, I feel that you have done women a great disservice with your antics as you campaigned. I am sorry to say that your true colors came out when you ended up in the manure pile with your lies. Your dishonesty really did you in and I am really disappointed in your actions. I wish you could have run a clean campaign and not as a manipulator. Just with your name recognition, you could have gone far. Any sexism issues you have come from you and your followers. Instead of taking the high road and staying with the issues and how you would handle them, you constantly attacked Obama - or had your cohorts do it for you. It is time for you to close down the campaign and go back to being a Senator. As a 50 year old white working class woman, I am not proud of you and you did not inspire anything in me except shame. Stop before you ruin it further for any future woman who wants to run for president. Gloria
Hours before the polls closed Tuesday in the final two Democratic presidential primaries, the Republican National Committee began circulating a video of Hillary Clinton questioning Barack Obama’s qualifications to be commander-in-chief, and acknowledging John McCain has this important presidential credential.
“Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, I will bring a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama will bring a speech that he gave in 2002.”

They could do this with ANY of the primary contenders, just the same way that Dems could dig up footage of Huckabee or Romney pointing out the reasons that McCain wouldn't make the best president. Don't act like this is only something Hillary did just to piss you off! That'd be... well ... silly.
The best thing to do, if you want a democratic president next year, is to STOP sniping at each other, ffs.

A good point, perhaps. I understand she made those comments on March 8; and maybe her team thought that his "experience issue" was a valid point to bring up nationwide, especially when she thought she still had a decent chance at the nomination back then.
If she'd said these words more recently, particularly with the direct comparison between McCain and Obama in the phrase, it would have been much more irresponsible and malicious on her part - since it was pretty obvious - even to her, i'm sure - that the nomination would go to Obama.
At that time, she was seriously trying to convince democrats that she'd be the better candidate against McCain - which lends to the comparison of what McCain would have, and what she was claiming she would bring to the table, and then what she purported that Obama would bring. Was that a wise choice? Probably not.
Is it a choice that any political operative would have made? who knows.
Are there clips of things being said about Hillary by Democrats, that Repubs could use, had she been the nominee? Most likely, yes.
Is it all just another red herring for the population? I think so.
Will it work?

K240says, did you watch Clinton's speech. John nails it with regards to her tone. She absolutely was nasty in her lack of grace; her lack of reality, her lack of anything approaching recognition that she had lost. I saw a post from RealClearPolitics suggesting that she wants respect. Now that is a two way street. She had ample opportunity to make good on her promise that she would work hard for the Democratic nominee. Frequently during her speech the delusional individuals in the crowd began chanting that she should not concede her defeat. Each of these presented a chance for a person who claims to be a great leader to say, in effect, 'hold on now; I understand that you are disappointed. I am too, but Barak Obama is now our standard bearer and it is time for us to close ranks and defeat our common enemy, John McCain'. She did not do this. Instead, once again, she chose to stoke her own ego. She could have said that she was not going to make any decisions about her political future, but that future would not hold her as the 2008 Democratic nominee as president, but she did not. She could have acknowledged that while the fight was a good one; America had spoken and chosen Barak Obama over her. She could have started her remarks with a disavowal of her claims of inequity in this campaign and begun to heal the wounds. Instead she gave her supporters an outlet to harden the view that Clinton had fostered that somehow she was robbed of the nomination rather than acknowledge that she had failed to persuade the people who voted that she was the better candidate. In short, it was a nasty speech by an evil nasty, nasty, NASTY woman. This racist, sexist, venal person needs to be taken aside and told in no uncertain terms that the only acceptable course for her to take is to embrace Obama whole-heartedly, and to bring her voters back into the fold or she will be stripped of every committee assignment in the Senate and receive no support whatsoever in any re-election campaign she should run. In short she should be told that if she continues to exercise the nuclear option, she will be obliterated.

"Don't act like this is only something Hillary did just to piss you off!"
And from above:
"...This whole post is nothing but ... snottiness, to use a word my mother always employed for such situations. This makes americablog no better than those creeps over at LFG or Malkin's site, or whatnot. It's a shame, you've lost most credibility in my book for being a level headed analyst or journalist of any sort - this sort of crap is exactly the type of stuff that is simple opinion by talking heads being shoved at us, on the 24 hour news channels, as "journalism"."
There's your definition. Perhaps my wording was snarky, but I wouldn't call it malicious. The original statement was essentially "why must we be nice to her?" with the implication of "look what she did!" My counter-point being, the opposition can always look at what was said by primary opponents from the same party as their opponent. Whether she gave them too much "ammo", perhaps is a valid discussion (i.e. were they valid points to bring up in the first place, even if so, were they more hurtful to the cause overall?) - but none of that excuses incivility on our part. That's what I meant by "don't act like she did it to piss you off". I honestly believe that Hillary and her team didn't say those things JUST to piss all of us off, and thereby we shouldn't be restrained by good manners and intelligent discourse because .... what? "they did it first"? I don't know. Also, it was more of a comment to all of us, not just Happyidiot, and I apologize that it wasn't more clear. My intent being "don't do this" not "you, specifically, ARE doing this" which would be much more of an attack, and be more "sniping", as you claim.
Secondly, your "tu quoque" argument against me may or may not be appropriate, but by no means invalidates my post criticizing the tone here. Saying "Two-way street, Baby" is not only patronizing, but is merely a distraction from the original intent of my comment. I'm not the one writing a blog, and I'm quite positive people don't come to this website to see what I have to say. My original expression of disappointment at the content of this post still stands.
Oh, and don't call me "Baby".

Sad, John. I have bookmarked and made a habit of coming over here from C&L. But hell, how many times can you call her a "nasty woman" in one farking post? This whole post is nothing but ... snottiness, to use a word my mother always employed for such situations. This makes americablog no better than those creeps over at LFG or Malkin's site, or whatnot. It's a shame, you've lost most credibility in my book for being a level headed analyst or journalist of any sort - this sort of crap is exactly the type of stuff that is simple opinion by talking heads being shoved at us, on the 24 hour news channels, as "journalism".
And here it is, too.
This is one of the many reasons I have totally burnt out on being an activist, or even giving a flying fart. There is nobody who can have a conversation without infantile name calling.

edit: oh, and before I get dismissed as some "crazy Hillary supporter", I wanted to vote for Kucinich, then Edwards, but by the time the primary was in my state, it was just these two, and I voted for Obama. I just really, really hate the level of discourse out here. Makes me afraid that even with "change", nothing will change, it will just be "us" in charge and calling names at "the other".

Let's not fear the Hillary anymore. She won't be VP, and she won't stop Obama from winning in November. It's his time, pure and simple, and even a ruthless, conniving, narcissistic Clinton -- Hillary, not Bill, but take your pick -- won't stop him.

Several months ago, I posted on this blog that she is the WRONG candidate and she was, well, a nasty woman. And a lot of people on this blog called me a lot of nasty names. That's all I'm gonna say.
GO BARACK!!
Symptoms
The symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder revolve around a pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and sense of entitlement.
Obama projected to win Montana. Which is the last primary despite the last gaffe from a failed triangulation campaign. Excuse me, Hillary!
Hillary who??
Russert reported that she does want the VP slot.

Obama !!
Yes we can, and we did :)
i don't think that describes HRC. she just got too comfortable being on a pedestal.
And calling yourself an Obama supporter is, well, Hillarylarious.
She doesn't deserve to be considered for VP. They had many opportunities to make a play for that position and they failed at every turn. Within the last 24 hours, both Bill and Hillary have said -- or not said -- things that could have help mend the fences. So for-fucking-get it, Hillary. No VP for you.
I truly have no idea, but I have a hard time believing this is all about her personality (disorder or not).
Stop making me laugh!
:-)
What diagnosis do we confer upon a blogger who calls the favored candidate of millions of people a "nasty woman" and declares her mentally ill?
Are we going to have to endure more of this vitriole if she becomes the VP candidate?
Off to hillaryclinton.com
THANK YOU AMERICABLOG for an Oasis of sanity, even within the most offbeat posting.
Future Ambassador to Antarctica.
Surely Obama will not let down his supporters by letting her take over his nomination by telling him what to do already, and all this before she is even on the ticket!
Hillary thinks she has Obama at her mercy because she thinks he needs her supporters to win, so she feels she can just call the shots starting NOW!!
She is attempting to bully Obama into giving her the VP slot and the only way to deal with a bully is to stand up to them and say no, or they keep coming back for more.
God, if she is VP, next thing you know she will be shooting her friend in the face...
Obama has won the cult of personality, plus he's freaking smart. There you go, but Hillary deserves credit, too.
How she could ever hurdle the sexism apparent from a bunch of gay dudes, I do not know! Bottomline, men are just scared of women holding their own and taking their full measure. She's doing nothing less than what the media has accepted with Bushco on a regular basis.
We aren't being unfair... we just don't want her to be president.
-2008
Yeah that's what we hate about her...she's become a Republican and makes me wretch when I see her now just like I do with Republicans.
Hillary, I have always liked you, your 2 brothers were at a Fund raiser i had, i met you and bill.
I lost champaingns, and i know what thats like.... it sucks. But Please move on, back obama now, don't play games, i was dumb fouded at your speech tonight. he will be the next Prez, Thank gawd Bush will be history.... Please, as a Life long dem, do the right thing.....and back Obama.
I just emailed her campaign and told them that I respect her work but that she needs to drop out immediately. I suggest we all do that.
Republicans begin to highlight Clinton’s criticism of Obama
Hours before the polls closed Tuesday in the final two Democratic presidential primaries, the Republican National Committee began circulating a video of Hillary Clinton questioning Barack Obama’s qualifications to be commander-in-chief, and acknowledging John McCain has this important presidential credential.
