As a Republican, why support McCain when he so vehemently supports torture and screwing the VA and Veterans?
Honestly, I'm supporting McCain because the military is still suffering from the closure of bases and the gutting of veteran's benefits during the Clinton Administration. Most vets never forgot that and still despise the Clintons (who they associate with the Democrat Party). That is why it would help your image among our military folks if you disassociated the Party from the Clintons.
McCain is very pro-Veteran and pro-soldier, so that is my main reason for supporting him. He has many glbt friends and doesn't talk out of both sides of his mouth like Hillary. McCain will make sure the Islamofascists are not able to follow our soldiers home.
I am hesitant to just take Morris' word that now conveniently places this on Hillary's shoulder to set up a whole range of ads from the Republican smear machine for the fall election.... Just as Hillary should not be attacking Obama in reference to the the Wright BS, or Ayers Crap.... Obama is right to keep back from making this part of his campaign. LCR your opinion, while valid and yours, would carry more weight with me if your political stake in this campaign was not the opposite the interests and goals of the Democratic Party......

I don't really have a dog in this fight. Both of my candidates are long

I have a question for you. Why doesn't McCain support the bill presented by Senators Webb, Hagel,Lautenberg, Warner and co sponsored by 241 members of the House? McCain is opposed to this bill which helps the returning military get an education. I just don't understand McCain's position on this bill\.

There's no way that a bunch of middle-aged white men (the SDs) will make Obama the nominee. They are going to be afraid that America is too racist, and they will make sure that Clinton is the nominee.
Then McCain will definitely be the next President because I don't know any Obama supporter who will vote for the witch. We would rather see McCain screw up for four years than have someone as bigoted and deceitful as Hillary ruin the reputation of the Democratic Party. It's looking more and more like McCain will be the next President if what you say is true.

I have not decided who to support. The campaign is not over, and more information will come out about ALL the candidates.
But, in my opinion, you all better hope that Clinton gets the nomination. If Obama is the candidate, I can't think of a single state he will win, except DC and Illinois.
I want Obama to win because he sees things in new ways and he hasn't had the hope boiled out of him, but I also don't want to hear about pardons and Monica Lewinsky 24 hours a day again, either.

I didn't say I supported Clinton. Obama is a better person and a better candidate. But Hillary will get the nomination. Bet on it.

Actually -- it's left up to the people of Puerto Rico. And they always vote to keep the current status, over statehood, by a slim margin. Hardly anyone votes for independence.

Maybe only 19% would vote McCain, but probably the other 81% would sit out the election. Talking to other Obama supporters, they just can't stomach the bigotry and racism that Hillary has used in her negative campaigning. Add to that the fact that she voted for the Iraq quagmire and that she would seem to relish being McCain's running mate. The vast majority of Obama supporters just couldn't vote for that kind of vile corruption and immorality.
That is what is frustrating.
You see the press go on and on over wright, who they took out of context, and bitter, another out of context, and yet do not call out Hillary. sigh.
We really need this primary over and the Clintons sent packing.

Johsosahon: your question reminded me of a TV show that was on when I was a child (when TV was brand new, actually). It was called, aptly enough, "To Tell the Truth", and it involved three contestants trying to stump a celebrity panel. Only one of them was the real item, and the panel had to figure it out by asking questions. At the end, after they had all made their guesses, the host would ask "Will the real Hillary Clinton(as an example) please stand up?"
I actually think there is no REAL Hillary. so many layers of phoniness.
