Love how the Simpsons have illustrated the voting machine "process" as it stands now...

It's funny, but it's f-ing real. I repeat. real. It's coming out now. These machines were supported by massive federal $ to poor, local (somewhat gullable - remind anyone of a character?) voting districts.. http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6445

I can't believe Obama, Joe, Nancy and Harry disappointed me so badly. Okay, Harry and Nancy aren't that big of a shock but I'm losing my faith in Obama/Biden. I can't believe they added 150 billion dollars, appointed Bush cronies to "guard" our money, and gave us zero safeguards for recouping our money. There's no guarantee this gift to wall street is even going to work.
Homer Simpson voting for Obama wouldn't surprise me as much as Obama letting me down. He's still better than McCain and his airhead sidekick. But right now, that's about it for me.
Is anyone else having this kind of reaction? Last night just knocked the wind out of me. I'll still vote for Obama. But it's with a heavy heart now.

Huh? Did you actually read the bill the US Senate passed? And who ever said that cleaning up from the Bush years wasn't going to be expensive???

Yes I read it. Did you?
If we lose money after five years, the President submits "a plan" to recoup losses from the financial sector. No specifications that this would pass or what it would even include. There's no percentage of what we recoup either. There's NO requirement the Treasury Secretary - Paulson, ex Goldman Sachs CEO and Bush crony - to insure any of the debt.
There are no guarantees that the Banking industry will even buy into this and free up money. We aren't doing a thing for them.
And who ever said that WE had to clean up for the Bush Administration? Let them clean up for themselves. It's very possible to do that. There are many alternatives that would force the peope who profited from this to be held accountable.

The bill is over 450 pages. If you read all that, I am impressed. And I agree that Wall Street should bail out Wall Street, but that isn't happening, and meanwhile small businesses and consumers seeking loans are suffering. I trust Obama to solve this matter once he becomes president. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081001/ap_on_bi_ge...

First job: kick the GOP out the White House. Only then we can restore fiscal sanity and democracy to the republic.
Hang in there, grrrrrl! :-)

Assuming/Expecting/Hoping Obama will win 11/4/2008, I'm sure the Republican Base will be screaming about the election being "rigged" starting 11/5.

From Washington Post
Independent Group Raises McCain Health Issue
By Chris Cillizza in The Fix:
In an attempt to intensify voter doubts about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's readiness for office in advance of Thursday's vice presidential debate, the California Nurses Association has launched an ad raising questions about John McCain's health.
The ad went up in six battleground states -- Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, and Missouri -- this morning, and will run for two days with a low six-figure buy behind it, according to sources familiar with the spot.
That relatively meager amount of spending means that the ad is meant to be more provocative than persuasive, aimed at driving a discussion -- publicly and privately -- about McCain's health. And, the content is decidedly provocative.
Just one thing I don't think has been covered is the lack of campaigning by the McCain camp and how that is part of what is hurting them... plus they only campaign together... For Obama he has Bill, Michelle, Joe and himself that's four events in one day, four local news places covering compared to one. The lack of a good campaigner is what strikes me the most in having picked Palin but they are using her right now as the ultimate distraction, can't wait to see the Palin was robbed web-ads right about now.
