AMERICAblog: House vote against bailout wounds McCain

  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
George Bush, Grover Norquist's and the other GOP have had their wet dream come true. Government is being shrunk to the size where it can be drowned in a bathtub.

The next administration will have NO money fto promote a better health care system; NO money to restore the regulatory programs on pharmaceuticals, food, bank funds, stock investments, pension funds; NO money to fix MediCare program; NO money to fix Social Security; NO money to fix broken public infrastructure; NO money to fix our broken educational system; and now . . . NO money to build the prisons needed to incarcerate the crooks who have perpetrated this massive fraud on America and the world.

    Where's the justice?

I suppose we can print it as fast as they can.

Please, keep McCain away on Thursday.

He'll fuck it up all over again.

McCain lost big time. He chose to make a spectacle of himself, suspending his campaign, and riding into the capitol on his white horse, making such a big drama out of the whole thing, and now he has egg on his face.

Yet, he continues to point fingers at Obama, and he even ridiculed him to his mindless supporters, by saying that Obama decided to sit this out, which, if McCain had any brains, would have been the smartest thing to do now.
Once again, this shows McCain has poor judgment, and is wrong on an important issue. All that drama, came to naught.

Joke of the day: Palin implying that Joe Biden is old, by saying that she has heard him make speeches, when she was in 5th grade(or something like that).
I GUESS SHE MUST HAVE BEEN A FETUS, WHEN MCCAIN MADE HIS SPEECHES!!!!

The folks who will vote for McCain / Palin are not sophisticated enough to think of this.

The Dow, NASDAQ and value of the Dollar against the Euro are now all below what they were when Bush took office.

But, on the other hand, inflation and unemployment are higher than when Bush took office.

Arianna has a good post calling BS on the GOPers and their Reagan Worship... GOPers blame "The Government" for every problem and equate "The Government" with Obama and the dems... hannity and limpballs push this meme every day: "Obama and the dems just want Big Government to step in and take everything over and make everyone dependent and weak"...that is NOT what Obama is saying.

    Good article....

I think what we need is 'Good Government'.....not no government or as we have now...'Bad Government'.

Congratulations to John McCain for working so hard to make this vote all about HIM.

You made your bed. Now, sleep in it.

    OT:
Attorney General Michael Mukasey is trying to expedite the investigation and trial of those responsible for the mismanagement of the Justice Department. By hiring a special prosecutor, charges will follow and Bush will be able to pardon his buddies before he leaves office.
If Mukasey waits until after January, Bush will have missed his chance.
This is just one more example of Bush trying to mop up before he leaves.

I wonder if Bushie boy still thinks history will vindicate him.....

    Pretty funny:
    National Journal
    ANALYSIS
    By John Mercurio

"WASHINGTON - The nation's frail economy was trapped in a burning building the other day, vast plumes of smoke climbing high into the night. John McCain raced to the scene of the fire, rolled up his sleeves, wiped the sweat from his furrowed brow, summoned his inner hero, kissed his wife and plunged headfirst into the blaze. Minutes later, The Maverick emerged. "The economy," Wolf Blitzer announced to the viewing audience, "appears slightly charred... but safe, nestled in a blanket, wrapped in John McCain's arms.""

The McCain campaign is spinning out of control. McCain and the Republicans are out there on Fox and cable news blaming the failed vote and flawed bill on Barack Obama and the Democrats. They've moved from demonizing Nancy Pelosi to claiming that Obama just "phoned it in" opposed to McCain's bold leadership. One insisted that McCain had spent the weekend on Capitol Hill, not fine dining at his swanky hotel and on the phone as his aids reported. Shame on them!
