  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
secret service needs to investigate immediately. It's obvious that Huckabee is a threat to Obama and it needs to be taken seriously. This is not a joking matter, thats for damn sure.

Former Arkansas Governor and current Republican dark horse candidate for President Mike Huckabee's son has been arrested for trying to board an airplane with a gun in his carry-on. He has a concealed-carry permit for the weapon. He was fined and given probation with a one-year suspended sentence. Reuters reports:

    Typical.
It's always the hateful, vile rightwingnuts who assassinate people on the left.
Not able to win on their merits, the nutjobs feel the need to resort to violence.
So sick of them and their bullshit, and equally sick of the fools who follow these tools.
  • Aanya · 1 year ago
I will speak for myself, I'm so sick of Huckabee , I could scream! He's out of the race now! Can we please not have to be subjected to his idiotic humor any longer? He's like scratching a blackboard! He's like a bad case of poison ivy! I'm so friggin sick of that man, please make him just go away!

  • slappymagoo · 1 year ago
oh my god, that is hiLARious! It works on so many levels! People will want o shoot Obama dead because he's not enough of a gun lover. They'll want to shoot him because he wants to appease Hamas, probably by giving them half of the Czech Republic. AAAAND theyll want to shoot him because...you know...the black thing!

Who needs repeats of A&E's An Evening at the Improv when you have ol' Huckabee being timely and topical with all the humor we ALL want to hear?

Actually, I heard that, upon further investigation, the loud noise was George Bush trying to hide from a newspaper. "NOOO! ME NO LIKEY WORDS! READING WORDS TOO HARD!!! MOMMMMAAAA! I MADE A BOOM-BOOM!"

Of course, that joke's about our President, a solemn and respectable man. So it's not funny. No matter how f*cking stupid he really is.

Murder is OK if you're a good Christian Republican.
  • joeldavies · 1 year ago
Which part of the Bible advocates race-based murder? Was that Jesus or John?

Funny, I don't seem to remember my scripture quite the same as the Huckster.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
If he didn't mean it, why did he say it?
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Well...white trash is as white trash does. Huckabee is just uppity white trash...you know the kind that kill niggers because they are superior to them. That is all this is. White trash.

Weird. I was just telling my boyfriend at lunch about my fear for Obama. Now I see this. Creepy.

Oh and huckabee, go cheney yourself.

Huckabee makes joke about assassinating Obama

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the KKK, Republican party made that happen. Obama is such a threat to them they will do anything to get him out of the race. If something does happen we all will know who did it! Makes you wonder who committed all the other assassinations of our great men and leaders.
  • michaelt · 1 year ago
that's what passes as a joke? no wonder i'm so fucking hilarious.

i'm going to practice my positivity now and say nothing.
  • dad · 1 year ago
    Dear Jesus,
I am worried about this country.
  • PaulG · 1 year ago
This is typical of the man. Go back and look at his quotes in this campaign, he's always making these stupid remarks. How people can go on about this being a 99% Christian nation when so many of the so-called preachers are like this yahoo just amazes me.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
And, they focus on Rev Wright!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Wow, That is un f***ing believable.

What is it with right wingers making gun jokes?

Isn't this like the 3rd or 4th gun "funny" in the last few months?
    .
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Yep. Supposed Huckabee is going to get the same wringing that Wright got? Nope...
  • Beachboy · 1 year ago
After reading about the Huckabee comment at the NRA meeting and listening to all the Christian crazies go hysterical of the correct California Supreme Court ruling on the unconstitutionality of the ban on gay marriage; I have come to a major life altering conclusion. I now have more respect for the large turds I leave behind in a toilet after a healty dump than I do for any Republican, NRA Member, or Evangelical/Fundamentalist Christian.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
What you're looking at is deep seated racism. This is no joke, and it amazes me that he would think it possibly could be. When these idiots are in an environment that feels safe and comfortable, they'll say exactly what's on their minds without batting an eye.

You gotta wonder, how this sizes up with an innoncent statement like saying, "When people are disappointed, they tend to cling to the things that are familiar that make them feel safe."

    Huck Finn is weak!
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
"You know, my dad took me out behind the cottage that my grandfather built ... and taught me how to shoot when I was a little girl". -HRC

"I know a few things about guns, and you don't point guns at people unless you mean to shoot them." -JA

both of you -- stop bragging.
  • JMOHR · 1 year ago
Now, come on. This was not an invitation to assinate Obama. This was an attempt to ridicule Obama as a coward or a sissy diving from a chair from a threat that a real man would have stood up to. I know, it is hard to keep Republican slurs straight because there are so many of them.
  • CitizenX · 1 year ago
I hope you were being sarcastic or have you never seen a soldier dive for cover or a police officer. The "heroes". Tell me you are kidding.
  • davespicer · 1 year ago
I'd say Huckabee "assinated" *himself* with that...
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Joking about gun violence with any presidential candidate is an invitation to some crazy whacko to do it. That Obama is black, and reminds people of Kennedy is even more impetus. We need to say this, and be clear about it. Obama is a security target.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
Let me understand. You feel a real man stands up to a gun being pointed at him. What utter bullshit. Other than complete imbeciles, anyone with a gun pointed at them ducks for cover. As far as slurs, stick to your own.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Anyone pointing a gun at me is going to make me move out of the line of fire, thats common sense. Once the weapon is secure then I bitch slap the asshole for pointing the gun at me.
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
Well I guess jmohr if someone point a gun at you, then you would think it a joke.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
okay... sorta off topic... but huckabee WAS addressing the NRA so...

what I wanna know is... after charlton heston died... did anyone pry the gun from his cold dead fingers??

    .
  • osage · 1 year ago
It's clueless comments like this that have transformed the word "Republican" into an epithet.
  • jimfromthefoothills · 1 year ago
Did you hear the crowd laughing at the joke? I am sick. The conservatives killed an entire generation of liberal leadership, they will do it again if we let them.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Well it looks like the general election is now heating up. This is what the republicans are all about. Murder. We better be ready.
  • Apt604 · 1 year ago
He'll probably realize it was a stupid thing to say (not to mention a dud of a joke), issue an apology, and then this will blow over. He's not a complete prick. After all, he defended Obama at the height of the Reverend Wright controversy, and he has been crazy enough to lecture his party on "taboos" like poverty and the environment.

As far as a VP choice, who would folks rather have . . . Mitt Romney??
  • Rab · 1 year ago
McCrazy wont get elected, so what does it matter who his running mate is.
  • Apt604 · 1 year ago
Rab I hope you're right, but I'm not THAT confident . . . after all, Bush & Cheney didn't really get "elected" in 2000, and yet here we are.
  • osage · 1 year ago
Sponsored by the KKK chapter of the Bush/Huckabee Republican Party. I am John Sidney McCain, III, and I approve this message.
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
Jebus, this sanctimonious asshole makes me sick.

As far as less government and less regulation .....HEY MFer then explain your position on abortion and gay marriage? Is it the government's role to regulate that you f'ing hypocrite?
  • Captain_America · 1 year ago
    Really classy, Huck, really classy.
  • DoctorJ · 1 year ago
I know "Hickabee" doesn't believe in evolution, but even the lowest forms of life -- himself, for example -- have a survival reflex that would compel them to duck from something threatening, like a gun.
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
what's even harder to understand, is the way the news media is spinning this, as if it was just an off handed joke, but after reading about the racism that is running through the secert service(hanging nose) (e-mails)
Sen. Obama need to really watch his back, I think Sen. Obama is a great American hero, a man who is willing to put his life on the line to try and save America from people who has been destorying our great country for the past 7 yrs.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Sick bastards. This hayseed, bootleg "Baptist preacher" got himself elected gov of AR and thinks he's hot shit. Well, I watched Obama at a town hall meeting in SD today, and he addressed gun ownership. He's not against having guns for legitimate purposes like hunting and home protection, but he explained that they do have to be controlled, including unscrupulous gun dealers, unlike the NRA's position, which is you should have a rocket launcher if you want it and get it anywhere you like.

I'd say the NRA doesn't mind arming criminals, terrorists and other assholes like Huckabeee, wouldn't you? People in the white supremicist movement can have their guns, too, according to those fools. Perhaps Huckabee is wishing they take his hint...

Memo to MSNBC: Kill Huck's on-air guest shots during coverage of the Kentucky primary...Oh, and Kentucky might surprise people...
  • tellypatin · 1 year ago
As a African American, It is very sad and hurtful that we, will not admit to racizm in this country. It's still around....It's still in some hearts. it still drives and destroys young lives as we all live day to day. Racizm is in a different form, hindin in comments, jokes and behind closed doors. Sometimes the stupid are so relaxed....oopps it leaks out. Im no surpised by the joke, im surpised that it took so long for it to surface.
  • vegasmisty · 1 year ago
I cannot believe the Republicans lately. They are self destructing before our eyes. Its like someone spiked their kool-aid and it wasnt with Rum or Jack Daniels. But then when you play follow the leader (Bush) your seeing the end result.

McCain might as well hang it up because he will never get elected. Everytime he tries to distance himself with Bush, he runs with arms open into Bush's arms.

I think the Republicans can kiss the seats that are up in the next election GOODBYE! The true Conservatives are scratching their heads wondering what happened to their party. All they have to do is look at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for their answer.

Boy the History books are going to show Bush and his cronies as the worst ever in the history of the United States. I guess if he wanted to go down in the history books...he will but not in the way he wanted.

    Ship Mike Huckabee to Gitmo.

When a major political figure and religious figure, and yes he counts, makes jokes about assasinating his rivals it equates to a terrorist threat. Send him straight to Gitmo and run him through the "enemy cleric" program.

Being forced to wipe his rear with pages of the Koran is really going to burn him.
  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
Lets just not respond to these people, their numbers will only swell. Their own neighbors and family members will think they are a nut job eventually.
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
so be it, but we can not continue to let these nutjobs keep saying these evil things and not call them on it, why is there not a hugh cry from the MSM about Larisa Alexandrouna book about the Bush Family ties to WW2 Nazi Germany, and why would the Israeli Knesset invite this man to speak to them, they had to have this information.
  • Catsandbeer.com · 1 year ago
    Here's Huckabee's explanation:

"During my speech at the N.R.A., a loud noise backstage, that sounded like a chair falling, distracted the crowd and interrupted my speech. I made an off hand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama. I apologize that my comments were offensive. That was never my intention."

Okay, here's what I don't get: of what state of mind do you have to be that the first thing that you associate with the sound of a chair falling over is the other party's nominee stumbling away trying to escape being shot? There are at least three synaptic jumps I'm missing of how chair noise -> obama being shot

A charismatic liberal leader is the conservatives worst nightmare.

Here's what they remember: Roosevelt and Truman had the same basic policy agenda. Roosevelt had charisma, Truman did not. Roosevelt won four straight elections handily, had huge majorities in congress, passed tons of liberal legislation and reshaped America forever into something more liberal than they could ever live with. Truman barely won one election. Barely.

So the Thugs know - charsima is everything. And Obama could take everything from them.

This is dog whistle politics people.

Some where out there in the weeds is a white conservative working class three-named (lee harvey/James earl ....) somebody with a chip on his shoulder, a grudge, and wanting to make a name for himself.

Believe you me, Obama has a target on his back, and he better be wearing kevlar underwear. Becaues sometime between now and January 20th, at least one person will take a crack at him. It happened to every charismatic liberal since 1930: Roosevelt, JFK, RFK, MLK, and Walter Reuther (not charismatic but very effective - died in masterious plane crash).

These people have little to lose - they just blow the dog whistle and some loser will come out of the wood works.

I think there's a 95% chance Obama is nominated, 85% elected, and 50% chance of some kind of attempt on his life (be it guns, poison, plane crash, whatever) between now and January.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
This was probably the most offensive, shocking statement I've heard yet from a Repub. The right wing nut cases don't need Huckabee giving them ideas.
  • Shannon · 1 year ago
Assassination is an American tradition.....when the Secret Service was busted yesterday for their racist emails (another American tradition) it all became so clear......Obama better hire some private security. Fuckabee was only half joking, he comes from that part of the country that "Christianly" approves of "eliminating" any threat to their white supremist power.
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
When Huckabee made those remarks, the first things I thought of was JFK,RFK and MFK,this was not a joke, and for the MSM to play it that way is just pure evil, and for the MSM not to talk about Laria Alexandrouna just shows the cowardness in the news media.
  • obamacrat · 1 year ago
And speaking of moral vacuums........what kind of 'Christian' makes a comment like that?
  • obamacrat · 1 year ago
    Oh, and told ya so!
