Champagne in our office yesterday has led to hiring a bus to take us to DC for the inauguration. It's an all night ride from Maine, and we'll return home the next night with no time to lay down our heads anywhere, but we're coming. Buncha old hippies and antiwar activists on a road trip, and the whole world is gonna be watching.

Been listening to Nina Simone's New World Coming since Tuesday night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO_vq9kmDcY

There's a study out today (can't find the link) showing that voter turnout was essentially unchanged from 2004, in terms of % of eligible voters. gains in democratic voting were offset by depressed turnout among republicans.

These guys are amazing! They already have a president-elect website up and running detailing what can be expected throughout this transition process. It's strikingly similar to the Barack Obama website that helped make his campaign an online success.

I thought voting to be a responsibility, so where were all these people 4-8 years ago when Bush was voted in, and we didn't have an econmic crises? Maybe we wouldn't be in this fix if they had visted the polls in the last few elections and voted that goofball Bush otta our yard!!!!!! May be too little too late.
