AMERICAblog: Hurricane Gustav heads towards Jamaica

    A few linked reminders:

Evangelicals asked to pray for rain at Barack Obama nomination

    The YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohxdvio9n2Q&eurl...

And thus I think God has spoken of just exactly what he thinks of Republicans trying to make him part of their dirty tricks.

I think God made it clear where She/He stands when the LEAST damaged neighborhood in Katrina's path was the GAYEST neighborhood. And I've heard that the neighborhood in San Francisco which is likely to be the most devastated by an earthquake is the Marina district... the straightest part of SF. I'm just sayin'.... It's no accident that the gay neighborhood of every big city is always the nicest neighborhood in town.

Gustav now heads toward the most homophobic island on earth, Jamaica.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
it would REALLY say something if Gustav did a 90-degree turn around Cuba... seeing as they're giving GLBT's tons of rights now.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
I wouldn't say TONS of rights. But no, they're not killing us willy-nilly in Cuba anymore, so all-in-all they probably have West Virginia beat. And Detroit.
  • Raffine · 1 year ago
Wasn't there a hurricane a few years ago that went throught Florida only hitting the counties that voted for Bush?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
that was just Jenna... and no, she only drank one of the counties dry.
Barbara got the other one. As they're twins, I can see how you were confused.

Does a POW deserve this crap?

What does AmericaBlog have against POW's?
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
    McCain was a POW?

I guess I have heard that about him 50 million times or so but perhaps I need to hear it 50 million more times for it to sink in.

Seriously though, if I knew McCain needed a crutch, I'd have gladly bought him one.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
Sounds to me like you just don't appreciate that he was a POW ;-)
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Well I would appreciate that he was a POW more if he could somehow use it to explain his gaffes. You know, use it to excuse why he keeps fucking up. If he could do that.....
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I alway thought the POWs were cool on the old Batman re-runs...

then again the THWACK! BAM! and SOCK! were pretty cool too.

Will this afternoon's highly entertaining nutjob with a megaphone enliven tonight's MSNBC Battle of the Egos???
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Democrats still don't get it. They believe you win elections by having the most popular candidates who the people vote into office. Republicans know better. You win elections by election fraud, paperless electronic voting, discarding votes, dead voters and pets voting for Republicans, disenfranchising minority precincts, fake felony criminal records to disenfranchise minority voters, intimidating voters, Walmart threatening employees, polling place guards or simply, marshall law, that is coup d'etat.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    Oh yeah, I forgot.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
you forgot the ever-popular 'Dead person's caucus'

Democrats just don't spend enough time appealing for the dead people's vote.

its very discriminatory... they lose out on hundreds of thousands of votes that way.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    oops... my bad.

you did include dead people. still, Democrats always seem to miss them.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
marshall law, that is coup d'etat

Isn't that what happened in 2000 when the Supreme Court declared Bush the president?
  • smiling_dog · 1 year ago
I think the larger point is that Katrina didn't disrupt his birthday celebration at all.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Well what is 1,800 dead when there's cake?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
all gone... why do you think it took so long for chimpy to respond to Katrina??

it was a BIG cake! they couldn't just let it go to waste, ya know?

with all those starving people in Ethernoplia? you just misunderestimated his humanitariumism.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Nor did Bush let Katrina disrupt his vacation. In fact, Bush hasn't let the presidency disrupt his permanent vacation from office.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
This time, they are providing trains and buses to evacuate the people who don't have their own cars. But the people know that their destination is the same concentration camps to which they were sent in 2005 where they were held behind razor wire by heavily armed guards manning machine gun towers. And, then there will be Barbara Bush snarking how much better off the evacuees are than they were living in their wormy muddy holes in the ground in New Orleans.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Question: Why doesn't the cake have candles?

Answer: Because McCain is FUCKING OLD!
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    fire laws.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Yeah but on the plus side, they'd be able to see it on the space station.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
[Large Whoosh! as half of Coronado burns to the ground]

Astronaut 1: what's that huge pillar of fire erupting from Southern California? oh, I forgot... they're celebrating john mccain's birthday today aren't they?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Hurricane Gustav could settle the election before the Republican convention is even finished.

Tomorrow McCain tells us if he picks Pawlenty or Romney.....YAAAAAAAAAAWN. Both are total losers.

    Here's this years b'day cake for McSame;

POW McShame is despised by the families of POWs and MIAs that he wrote off in his rush to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. He is a vet who disrespects other vets and a POW that could care less about those who were never accounted for. ANYONE that gives McShame respect for being a vet and a POW is ignorant of the facts. The fact that Vietnam has virtually sealed their records of McShame's incarceration explains it all.

    August 29, 1936.

We should not let politics and weather get in the way of sending a heart-felt and congratulatory HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Senator John McCain.

He may be turning 72 today, but the AP reports that "He doesn't look a day over 70 - hubba hubba."

    High-Keating-Five, Johnny!
  • nsr · 1 year ago
And here's Dobson, asking his followers to pray for rain in Denver. I guess he missed the part about not tempting God.
  • crv · 1 year ago
Leave McCain alone!!! He spent 5 1/2 years without any birthdays...if he wasn't a POW he would be turning 77.

Today is the 3rd anniversary of Katrina slamming the Gulf coast.
