AMERICAblog: If a "polarizing" candidate has "the highest unfavorable rating for any presidential nominee in recent history," how does that enhance electability?

  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
She blows away her own electability argument every time she opens her mouth.

Hillary is nothing more than McCain in drag (and despised accordingly). Why is she so intent on destroying the Democratic Party? She and her adulterous, perjuring hubby are making the Democratic Party a laughing stock with all this infighting: http://ace.mu.nu/
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Wow...those are some good points as to why she should NOT be the nominee.

Considering how many years I spent defending her (and I now know why I was wrong to do so) against so many who dislike her intensely.....I have been surprised she has gotten as many votes as she has.

It is good to read some sane commentary that isn't full of spin and hyperbole.

Why did you and others ever support Hillary? I've always had a bad reaction to her since the early 90's. She comes across as creepy and almost overly masculine. I suspect the majority of the votes she is getting now are due to Limbaugh's 'Operation Chaos' and Ann Coulter also telling her fans to support Hillary. True to their character, the Clintonistas attract the worst type of slime.

    OT: repost...ACTION ALERT!!!!

The federal crime of inciting a riot carries a possible penalty of up to five years in prison a fine.

UPDATE: Richard Blair says we should complain to the Colorado Attorney General:

…and you should be urging Colorado Attorney General John Suthers to investigate. How is it that a GOP attack dog frontman can call for riots in the streets of Denver during the Democratic National Convention, and not be currently residing in a jail cell someplace? Because, apparently, IOKIYAR. Still, Inciting to Riot is a felony - and the Colorado AG should be all over this.

    http://www.ago.state.co.us/contact_us.cfm

    Here's my note:
Rush Limbaugh is inciting his listeners to riot at the Democratic Convention in Denver. This is a federal crime with penalty of up to 5 years and a fine.
Please do something. This is America, not some third-world sewer.
Rush is also intimating a race war. Make him pay for his anti-American words.

MAJOR CLINTON FUNDRAISER DEFECTS TO OBAMA

Agree Dave of the Jungle.....after the last 8 years the last thing this country needs is more Bush.

People distrust her ......just as they do Bush

Yikes, your main source is Obama's campaign manager, and he starts by saying, "I mean, I think........"

    Rupert Murdoch would be proud.

Wow. what complete and utter nonsense barely masquerading as a point.

Generally speaking the beauty of a campaign manager is that he or she is not meant to be in the limielight. He or she (get this, you're gonna love it) MANAGES THE CAMPAIGN! Creates the occasions for the candidate to speak!

Of course, you're so obtuse, you'll probably object to my use of the slang "gotta." Have fun trying to incite riots at the Democratic National Convention, dittohead.
  • Judd · 1 year ago
Wow, slappymagoo..........you totally missed the point of my post.

I was simply making the point that for such an attention grabbing post, full of bold type and quotes, it is only the opinion of someone being paid by the Obama campaign.

Me bringing up the use of "I mean, I think..." was not an objection to his use of words, it was to show that it was only his opinion.

As for trying to incite riots at the DNC, that is far from the case. See, I am a rational and loyal democrat who will fully support the candidate who wins the democratic nomination. Can you say the same for yourself?

    Didn't think so.

Now who's the one splitting the party?
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Bill and Hill are doing anything to get this. It is over. Unless there is some real shit from the DNC and they crown her queen this summer. In which case, McBush will take the WH and we will have four more or possibly eight more years of corporate rape, etc. She is now nothing more than a bitch in heat. I am sick and tired of this shit with our two parties.

Obama will take the WH because the youth vote will affect everything in November. He is youtube vs feeding tube.

Hillary cannot win the election. Period.

Hillary was barely electable before she started attacking Obama and using her kitchen sink approach.

Time's M. Halperin breaks the news that the Obama campaign and the DNC are about to sign a joint fundraising agreement whereby Obama's contributors' checks/debits over a certain dollar amount will be shunted to the national committee's bank accounts. An Obama campaign spokesperson confirmed that an agreement was being set up.

A month ago, the DNC approached both campaigns about the idea. The immediate reaction inside the Clinton campaign was skeptical: they did not feel that their donors would jump up and down to support the DNC without a sense that the DNC had a plan to deal with the votes and delegations from Florida and Michigan. Nonetheless, staff level discussions were held, but none involving the key decision maker: indeed, a call between DNC executive director Tom McMahon and Clinton campaign manager Maggie Willams is scheduled for Monday.

A DNC official said that the party has been "briefing both candidates on what we’re doing and are preparing for two scenarios. We continue to step up our efforts on John McCain with our ad (another one will be coming soon), polling, general research comm rapid response, etc. We have talked to both campaigns about fundraising – we have an agreement in principal with the Obama campaign and are talking with the Clinton campaign."

There's solid info here jo! My wife has been a Hillary supporter for a period of time. We don't argue or debate political issues. However, she said to me today that she's aware of the imbalance of hits that Obama is taking by both Hillary and the media.

Her conclusion: "I think the Repbulicans think Obama is the stronger candidate, and this is why they're trying to take him out before the General Election. "

The light is coming on for a lot of people in this country. The longer this goes on, the more she shows her real hand.

    You make me laugh, Joe.

With the growing questions about Obama's judgment and character -- which should definitely be issues when someone asks the country to trust him enough to be president -- how can you overlook the doubts many Democrats have about his electibility.

    Obama's judgement?!!!!

I'd say I admire his judgement when it came to biggest strategical blunder this country ever made......to invade Iraq.

Hillary's campaign is racist. Constantly referring to Obama as an "Elitist" is code for "Uppity N*****" to the white working class who are still voting against their best interests. Watch how many times she's going to call Obama "Elitist" in the run-ups to Indiana and North Carolina. She's shameless.
  • Delronda · 1 year ago
Andyz: "Hillary's campaign is racist. Constantly referring to Obama as an "Elitist" is code for "Uppity N*****" "

This is so true. It is the number one reason why I would NEVER support her or her husband. I can't imagine supporting racism and am puzzled why anyone would vote for her. Whenever I meet a so-called "Hillbot", I know that I could never consider them a friend. Racism is so evil and insidious. We must never allow such bigoted people to become a part of the Democratic Party.

    Delronda:

    Umm.....Maya Angelou is a Hillbot.

Are you saying that Maya Angelou is an evil and insidious racist?
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Since there are so many sources in the MSM that are now defending Clinton's run and with the North Carolina GOP reving up it's own racist tirades, I suspect that the going is about to get plenty tough. I'm glad to see that some of Hillary's supporters (and fundraisers) are now switching over to Obama. This is when the campaign needs some friends to get them over the pointy and sharp edges of Clinton.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
When a candidate starts out with half the country hating you that translates into a close and maybe unwinnable election and that is what Hillary starts out with. Obama doesn't have that baggage and it would be much easier an election to win.
  • Poptart123 · 1 year ago
    Delronda,

What an absolute crock! Kerry was pegged as elitist: http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/03/08/main/...

And so was Howard Dean... or have you forgotten the "latte-drinking, Volvo driving" attack ads?

I suppose Kerry and Dean are "uppity N's".

And then you go on and on about racism. You know what's racist? 92% of blacks voting for a black person just because they are black!

Poor Hillary. I'm sure all those Jewish supporters who want Iran bombed as well will want their money back if she doesn't get close enough to let the vote riggers do the rest.
  • Redphilly · 1 year ago
Let's face it none of the candidates has clean hands. People think Obama is hiding something. They think Hillary is a blatant liar. McCain is Bush's baby and he also voted against MLK Day, so what does that make him? But Hillary and McCain have agreed on two things I know about. Going to war in Iraq and the new gas plan for summer driving. That's two too many. She should not be sleeping with the enemy so much when it concerns our pocketbook.
