AMERICAblog: I'm guessing somebody didn't max out to Hillary...

  • syvanen · 1 year ago
I would hesitate to admit that I find it entertaining to watch a cat torture its prey. Especially, housecats that make it difficult to maintain high urban populations of birds that whose habitat is under pressure by human activity.

related note: dogs don't kill birds.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
They kill rabbits, squirrels, other suburban wildlife.

    Can't catch birds.

(Frankly, I think there's no need for cats to be outside. Lifespan of an outdoors cat is about five years, indoor cats live well into their teens.)

    when there's a squirrel/rabbit/skunk shortage, i'll send my dog for reprogramming :)

Cute picture. Can you buy those Hillarys in stores? I need one of those for my cat to knaw on.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
FYI, my 8-yr old bitch brings me mangled voles, mice and (baby) rabbits on a routine basis. i say "brings me" but it's just a formal courtesy before she eats them herself.

John- I'm a long time reader, first time poster. Are you going to try and do a cafe get together in Paris this time? I'm travelling there next week and thought the ones you posted last year looked like a lot of fun.

I hated Hillary as much as anybody this spring.

But maybe it's time to retire the Hillary doll in favor of a McCain one?
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
I tried to find a McCain doll and, oddly, the company doesn't make one, that I can find. They have a Bush doll, but the cats already got that one a year ago :-) Oh, and you can buy these on Amazon, they should sell the Bush one too.

Cats are so thoughtful. Ours brought Patrick and I a nice dead mouse one night as an offering. We only discovered it when making up the bed in the morning. Nice wake up call! And ours are indoor cats...where they found the mouse is anyones guess, I suspect they have a secret stash of them for those "down times".

Cats are very subtle creatures. Your cat was giving you a gentle, loving hint what she thinks of your housekeeping. <g>

This reminds me of an email I rec'd about the cat's view of humans. The cat is trying to get away from them and free from the house and he says somethign to the effect:
"I even kill small rodents and insects and drag them to the humans feet so they will see what I am capable and disgust them so that they may free me..."

it doesn't work... we leave the patio doors open.

the cats go over the wall... but they always come back.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
we have walking-stick bugs all over the patio... Ginger (our PITA cat) hasn't brought in another one-legged grasshopper or cricket since he discovered the walking-stick bugs...

a true hunter, he picks on the slow moving bugs.

Cats are awesome creatures. The cats we have at the ranch of really fun. They each have their own little personality, and they ALL reward us with all kinds of strange creatures they chew up, my fave is the occasional blind mole, and then carefully place in front of our door as a present to us for feeding them. I think its hilarious. We humans can't begin to be critical of cats for killing ANYTHING when you consider what we have done to our planet. Cats, as a species, rock!

I just got a call from a group called 'Project for Arizona Future'.

In the robo call they state. "If you did not vote in the primary, you may not be able to vote in November'.

Who do I contact about this? The Governor? I emailed them I was reporting this.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
"Shanobama" - just got your question. You should contact your local District Attorney's office. Also, call the election board and report this!
