AMERICAblog: In 2000, Clinton's mantra was "play by the rules." In 2008, it's "change, break and ignore the rules."

Bill Clinton never played by the rules. but he expected everyone else to...that's how he games the system.

Hillary Clinton has morphed into a GOP candidate. The rules do not apply to them. They get a free pass, e.g., Hagee vs Wright.

Queen's don't have to follow the rules. I thought that was obvious!

It was an absolute pleasure to tell the Clintonite who called my house today that I was supporting Obama. : )

Katherine Harris and the Supreme court set the rules in 2000, and everyone followed them and W became president, even though he lost the vote in Florida. Now Florida, Michigan and Iowa break the rules by moving their election date up. And Dean and donna Brazille and the other Obama supporters in the DNC disenfranchise Millions of our brothers and sisters. Why don't they disenfranchise Iowa, well they know Obama will do poorly in a state like florida, which has senior citizens, Gays and Lesbians and Latino Minorities from places other than Mexico. And they knew Obama could win in Iowa. It has the lowest percentage of Gay people of any state in the Union.
"Katherine Harris and the Supreme court set the rules in 2000, and everyone followed them and W became president, even though he lost the vote in Florida."
Correction. Bush won the vote in Florida. It's possible he might have lost in a recount, but Supreme Court ruled 7-2 that Florida's recount process was unconstitutional.

"The Democratic party’s “superdelegates” have every right to overturn the popular vote and choose the candidate they believe would be best equipped to defeat John McCain in a general election, according to Howard Dean, chairman of the US Democratic National Committee.".
Looks like Dean is preparing us for the backroom deals that will give Clinton the nomination.

if Hillary can't follow the rules of the campaign......she should get out.
We don't need a nominee who would be another version of Bush and his contempt for the rule of law.

Just like Bush who plays the same way and is above the law!

In 2000, the Play by the Rules meant by Clinton rules even then.

Wow, this is a new low. How many things are wrong with this post? To start with . . .
1, You find a statement by candidate Bill Clinton about how the middle class should have a fair shot at being successful, and should not be punished for playing by the rules. And then instead of giving the man credit for an 8 year term where he actually worked to deliver on that promise, raised the standard of living and balanced the budget, you try to use it as a club against him. And his wife. 2. You say that the Clintons break every rule, which I take as a statement about Florida and Michigan, and the super-delegates, and fail to note that BOTH CAMPAIGNS want to break the rules. The Obama campaign is out there talking to the super-delegates telling them they should feel bound to vote the way their states voted, in contravention of party rules, and then taking endorsements from super-delegates from states where Hilary won -- think Kennedy and Kerry. 3. Finally, you continue to insist that Hilary should be judged by what Bill said during his Presidency and campaign.
But go on, go ahead, keep driving the wedge deeper into the heart of the Democratic party. What could possibly happen, except for McCain's 100 year war and the further disappearance of th middle class. Yeah, the middle class you quote Bill Clinton as supporting.

Maybe Clinton grew up and learned that playing by the rules is for suckers and fools. I want someone who do whatever has to be done, at any cost, to get us out of Iraq, turn the economy around and bring us out of the Bush revival of the 1950s and into a revivial of the 1990s Clinton era.

The Clintons are pissed they are losing. They won't accept it. Bill has commandeered every one of his former surrogates into hitting the airwaves and spewing nonsense for Hillary. Dirty tricks abound. They are trying to ruin it for Obama. You see, if Hillary can't have the nomination, they're not going to let Obama have it. The need to be stopped.
