AMERICAblog: In case you need to hear more bad economic news, manufacturing at "lowest level since 1980"

  • sgiffy · 10 months ago
The index measure growth and contraction not the total level of manufactures. We are falling faster then we have since 1980, but that does not mean we are not manufacturing more then we were then.

1980 was the beginning of the Tinhorn Dictatorship of the Reagan clique. The transition was painful. It was a time of fear and horror as the Reich Wing took power but it was not exactly an economic collapse. Inflation had swept away much, but it was possible to survive without selling apples on the street corner.

I didn't know we had any manufacturing left in the U.S. Seriously, what do we manufacture here other then a few autos?

in re madoff: there are rumors up here in the north land that Madoff was a major contributor to MOSSAD. Can this be true? Would that be legal? Can an individual donate to MOSSAD?
  • lark83 · 10 months ago
Donating directly to Mossad sounds a bit far fetched to me. Can you donate to the CIA? I think not.

You can help Israel in a lot of other ways though. For example, the pro-settlement crowd has fund raisers right here in our own country. CNN profiled them on their special "God's Warriors".

A slowdown in manufacturing is being couched as bad news. Why?

Less manufacturing = less pollution = less global climate problems.

A slowed down economy can save our freakin' skins.

    Think, people.

I love Republicans when they pull out the °bipartisanship" moniker. They did nothing but obstruct the last congress just be obstructionists. And I do recall when they were in power they just pushed things through. The Dems have many more people in congress than the Republicans did. They should be bipartisan, but at the same time they cannot let Republicans obstruct legislation for the sake of obstruction. And I did not see too many Republicans jumping up and down when they were spending money hand over fist.

As far as I am concerned an election is about choice. The majority of the voters chose a liberal progressive direction for the country. If the GOP believe stopping the government from enacting legislation that is in the best interests of the voters then so be it. But every day of the week Pelosi and Reid (I can hardly write this since I know they don't have balls the size of a fruit fly) should stand up and tell Americans what is being derailed and that their beloved Republicans are stopping Universal Health Care, Pollution Standards that allow people to live, stimulus packages, job creation, taxes on the richest corporations and people, etc., etc. If the mirror is not held up to the Republican party so that we can all see they are invisible and expose them for the bloodsuckers they really are then we will have 4 years of looking like pussies.
