Good ole George. Perhaps his desire to please Hannity, should give him the courage to join Faux News. After all he has done the GOP bidding, and he should be ashamed of himself. Did Bill call in a favor, or think it was time George paid back for the boost he got from the Clinton administration?
This whole debate was a hatchet job on Obama. Hillary gleefully went along, and dug that knife deeper into Obama (true Clinton style).

I honestly think Obama surviving a barrage of attacks from Clinton hacks impressed many voters. He also picked up super delegates in the aftermath and the online polls show he clearly won despite the extremely biased inquisition.

Coming Undone, I agree completely. What didn't they ask Hillary about not wearing a pin either? She desperately wants to be seen as one of the boys (drinking, shooting etc.), so she should not have been excused from the question. I also wondered why they did not ask her about Mark Penn and Columbia. After all Obama had to answer to many more difficult questions, about people even remotely connected to him.

Whomever created this video should at least receive an Oscar nomination for best short. Last evening was a disgrace. I was really hoping that the questions asked would be more than soft ball fluff, but no chance when it comes to the MSM. I really think the time in this campaign is long past the point where real questions about real matters are being thrown at all the candidates. Questions like where each stand on the Constitutional rights of citizens regarding free speech so as not to have a repeat of some Secret Service officer arresting someone who disagrees with Cheney on the war in a parking lot. I'd like to hear their views on FISA, torture, as well as Chertoff's new plan to send un maned droans over our towns and cities in search of bad guys and just how they are going to preserve our privacy? I really wanted to hear the tuff questions asked about our economy or what's left of it on life support and why government has never been allowed to audit the Federal Reserve or whether any of the candidates believe it shouldn't be a pre requisite to take economics 101 before even making a run for office? But no, our dumbed down society save a small percentage in the blogosphere are left with a dog and pony show that made Howdy Doody look like high drama. It was a pathetic sham and one can only hope that a few light bulbs went on in the american psyche. Just once....I would like to hear a candidate say that the rule of law under the Constitution is what their all about and that after taking their oath, their first order of business will be running the government as the founders had set out to do.

Was that a Democratic debate last night, or a GOP hackery session? If Fox's Sean Hannity was asking the questions, why not have him actually ask the questions?
Unbelievable that ABC would reduce political discourse to whether or not a candidate wears a flag lapel pin or the definition of "bitter." Whatever happened to discussing issues, such as: the unnecessary war Bush lied us into, which has already cost thousands of lives and billions in treasure, or the economy [stupid!], or healthcare, or any issue of substance.
By the way, I noticed that neither Stephanopoulos or Gibson were wearing their flag lapel pins. Does that mean that they hate America?

How would you know if its's nonsense, or not, unless you did a few HOURS of research on Obama on the web?
..... for example .... if you looked around you might find an article written by a reporter for a small obscure Chicago newspaper. A reporter who covered Obama's years in the Illinois legislature.
As best I recall from reading the article .... 14-15 years in the Illinois legislature .... where, except for the last 2 years .... The Repubs had a majority & the Dems could get NOTHING passed.
And then .... when the voters gave control of the legislature to the Dems, a black legislator with control over the Dems ..... gave all the good legislations that other Dems had been crafting for decades .... to Obama ... because, as he said: "I'm going to make me a (U.S.) Senator!"
So... when Obama tells us about all that good legislation he got passed in the Illinois legislature .... that's not the whole story.
The whole story is: it wasn't HIS legislation. He ignobly takes the credit for other people's work. He has NO Substantial EXPERIENCE crafting, or passing, Legislation of HIS OWN.

My own, very Left-Liberal NYC cousin (female, lawyer-writer, late 50s) sounds a lot like elme13. She visited us out here in SoCal last weekend and we really got into it. My girlfriend is still in a grumpy mood after hearing all the bickering (and only occasionally joining in herself). My cousin is only grudgingly for Hillary, but HATES Obama. She doesn't trust him and thinks he is a corporate wolf in sheep's clothing. I disagree, but have to admit that his performance in The Presidency would be the final test/proof whether that is true or not. My cousin thinks, basically, the USA is DOOOOMED with any of the 3.
I may be pessimistic, but I'm not quite that far gone yet. This election, and the subsequent administration it produces, may be the final straw for me.
But... All I know is what I see, hear, read and deduce. And at this point I deduce that it is Hillary who is more corporate-aligned, more inclined to fight dirty, lie and smear opponents like GOPers do, and it was Hilary and NOT Obama who has apparently "sold out" to the slimy likes of Rupert Murdoch and Richard Mellon Scaife.
Obama is far from perfect, but, to me, is the ONLY choice.
Oh, and a friend of my cousin's came over and he is a somewhat strange guy who voted for Edwards, but yet is a virtual neocon when it comes to Israel (Yeah, my family is Jewish)----I REALLY got into it with him, and he practically stalked out. Many Jews are so paranoid/protective of Israel that they cling to neocon politics as some kind of refuge or something, and fail to see the obvious connections (to me) of Neoconservatism to fascism/corporatism/greed/oppression.
Lovely weekend, that was.

Gibson and Stephanopoulos forfeited any claims they might have had to be journalists and newsmen in the traditional sense. They should be fired. ABC ought to be boycotted as should Disney in all its hydra-headed operations. They have some nerve if they think the thinking public will stand for this sort of attempt at biased manipulation. ABC no longer has any claim to call itself a news organization. ABC is in the crapper almost at the low level of Fauxnews.

I remember the last outrage with ABC over their phony 9/11 movie. Didn't last very long. People need to take action if we're ever going to break this cycle and take away the MSM's power. Turn off that TeeVee, don't "buy" that DVD, etc. Hit them where it hurts: In the wallet.
Some people already go as far as buying tickets for one of the indie studio films at their local megaplex when they want to see a Miramax or Touchstone Pictures film and just happen to accidently sit in the wrong theater.

I know that: when, last fall, I saw all the TV News talking heads on FOX praising Obama to the skies .... day after day .... all day long,
AND saw all the TV news talking heads on MSNBC....praising Obama to the skies day after day ..... all day long,
.... I KNEW .... it wasn't exactly .... going to be .... politics as usual this year.
WHEN .... FOX .... & MSNBC are PUSHING for a candidate .... I know (to begin with) that's MOST LIKELY the candidate I Don't want.....SINCE....last election cycle, FOX was all in favor of GWBush, and MSNBC was.(less obviously) pushing for Bush too.
Next, I spent a few hours looking up FACTS ... & Following wherever they led.

LOL ! I read long and short posts. Most the posters here are very good at getting their points across in an organized, cohesive manner. Generally speaking, their comments are arranged in a way to state their position, give validation, and conclude. When I said I got lost, believe me, it wasn't my comprehension skill that was lacking.
My cousin is only grudgingly for Hillary, but HATES Obama. She doesn't trust him and thinks he is a corporate wolf in sheep's clothing.
I disagree, but have to admit that his performance in The Presidency would be the final test/proof whether that is true or not.
My cousin thinks, basically, the USA is DOOOOMED with any of the 3.
I may be pessimistic, but I'm not quite that far gone yet.
This election, and the subsequent administration it produces,
may be the final straw for me.
But...
All I know is what I see, hear, read and deduce.
And at this point I deduce that it is Hillary who is more corporate-aligned, more inclined to fight dirty, lie and smear opponents like GOPers do, and it was Hilary and NOT Obama who has apparently "sold out" to the slimy likes of Rupert Murdoch and Richard Mellon Scaife.
Obama is far from perfect, but, to me, is the ONLY choice.
Oh, and a friend of my cousin's came over and
he is a somewhat strange guy
who voted for Edwards, but yet is a virtual neocon when it comes to Israel (Yeah, my family is Jewish)----I REALLY got into it with him, and he practically stalked out. Many Jews are so paranoid/protective of Israel that they cling to neocon politics as some kind of refuge or something, and fail to see the obvious connections (to me) of Neoconservatism to fascism/corporatism/greed/oppression.
Lovely weekend, that was.
But it's OK.
This stuff is important.
ABC ought to be boycotted as should Disney in all its hydra-headed operations. They have some nerve if they think the thinking public will stand for this sort of attempt at biased manipulation. ABC no longer has any claim to call itself a news organization. ABC is in the crapper almost at the low level of Fauxnews.
