AMERICAblog: In Missouri, the nuns are fighting against the onerous voter ID law

  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Be careful, Sisters.

McCain promised Hagee that Catholics will soon be "second class citizens."

This is just a taste of their plans.

Wake up nuns! You probably voted these yahoos into office because they were anti-choice and anti-gay.

How do you know they were actually Nuns, and not, like, only dressed as Nuns to throw the election? Isn't that the point of the law??!!

Kathryn Jean Lopez sez those nuns shouldn't have been voting for dems anyway...

Note to Kathryn Jean Lopez:...sorry to burst your bubble...but every Catholic I know is voting for Obama....in fact one very strict Catholic I know is so against Evangelicals she can't stand the Republican Party anymore.

The only reason for these laws is to make it difficult or impossible for some people to vote. It's easy enough to allow everyone to vote then check the records after the election for eligibility. Minnesota does it. People can register at the polls on election day using many forms of ID including utility bills with their name and address on it. Voter fraud is low and turnout is high. But perhaps high turnout isn't the goal with these laws. The Bush Supreme court is wrong on this issue.

Any chance for another Supreme Court challenge? I thought I heard that the SCOTUS gave a narrow ruling and would be open to a more specific challenge. They just didn't like the one given to them.

The only nuns I've ever known (I'm not Catholic) were patients of mine back in Seattle. They were all wonderful people and extremely intelligent. Most had Doctorate degrees in various disciplines.

    Don't fuck with nuns!
