AMERICAblog: In Pittsburgh, McCain tells "a rather moving story" about himself that turns out to be wrong

How dare you disrespect McCain's time in captivity. The man is a hero. I'll waterboard you and while I'm doing it I'll ask you to name the starting D-line of the 1971 Packers. I bet you couldn't do it, but McCain could!
Is McCain deliberately trying to trick us into saying mean things about old people? Inventing memories is something only sick old people do not all old people. We need a TV commercial that asks a simple question do you feel better knowing that John McCain might forget where the button is in a Crisis? The commercial would not be aimed at getting more votes but rather to make McCain's military support look weak after all their argument is that McCain is better for defense.

I am sure he remembers where his favorite blond lobbyist's button is located!

If an animal is badly abused, it is often dangerous. I wonder how the physical and psychological damage inflicted on McInsane damaged him psychologically. He certainly has rage-control issues.
It is unfortunate that Mr.Insane was tortured as a result of his participation in war, but perhaps this abuse may have damaged his ability to be a fully phychologically healthy individual. Should't our leader be undamaged and mentally and emotionally healthy? Why does he think he is owed the White House because he served his country in war? Being a vet does not automatically qualify him to lead the nation. Especially when he has shown us that he is not in top physical and psychological form.
Do we need an emotionally damaged and increasingly feeble elderly president?

B_B, did you really dig that up? Good work; you've just exposed McCain as Hillary's "lady in waiting" as per making things up out of whole cloth. The guy is brain dead and and will probably become a blithering idiot by election day...

Does torture make you say anything, just to make the pain stop? I can't wait 'til a Gitmo detainee leads Special Forces to the Afghan Olympic Soccer team!

Well, let's see if this holds true during his next trip to Texas in the future: if he describes it as the "defensive line of the ..... Dallas Cowboys" ... then you'll know that he has the name of the team simply as a variable.

Remember the Maine McCain misspeaks by telling the truth, even if only momentarily...
John McCain is no war hero. In 1997 on 60 Minutes John McCain said the following. "I am a war criminal; I bombed innocent women and children".
McCain is a liar just like the hag........Hillary. These people will say or do anything to get elected.....they think we are dumb fucks! And while I'm on Dumb Fucks, how about John Conyers and Nacy Pelosi...........Rove plays them like a cheap fiddle! This Country is screwed. We need a really big war to cover up all the dumb! Stock up on food and ammunition!

I'm sure the tv pundits will bray ceaselessly about this just like they did when Hilary lied about her time abroad

Maybe the Repubs will "deep six" McCain at the convention as his med problems become more obvious and go with Ron Paul...

I'm not sure, at this point, McCain really wants it anymore!

BC, I think he only wants it if there is "no pain". I'm smelling cordite in the air already and things have just begun. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see it wind up as an election between Hillary and some as yet unnamed Repub.

You think the Clintons have given up? Too much money at stake. Probably won't happen, but it's not over until the "fat Lady sings"

Can Busboy please explain what he is writing about? This would seem to be the outer edge of tthe fantasy realm. Busboy, plase explain your comment.

John Sidney McCain spent over five years being tortured in a POW camp. He collects over $58,000 per year tax free for his "disability"; a disability that no one seems to be able to name. Or at least one that justifiably costs the American taxpayer over $58,000 per year. He has a little trouble lifting up his arms. For that, he gets over $58,000 a year tax free? I don't think so. I think he has a chronic case of PTSD and won't admit it. He only released his more recent medical records and gave access to only the most friendly reporters in a closed room for a few hours. He's hiding something. We need to talk up the fact that he was BRUTALLY TORTURED heroically for his country FOR OVER FIVE YEARS. Heck, he even talks about it, why shouldn't we help get the word out?
Tonytony

Good point. What issues enabled him to qualify for "disability". If the disability is in any way mental or psychological, how is he "able" to lead the nation.
Not to mention the fact that he is older than the Golden Gate Bridge (literally).

Everyday the facts indicate that McCain is McSame. Secrecy, lies and distortions are the Bush tectics and the present McCain strategy. These two are cut from the same cloth. Remember the " missing" Bush ANGuard records? Remember the multitude of Bush lies and distortions? Yes. McCain is McSame and each hour of each day reveals this reality. Soon it will be impossible for the MSM to cover for them any longer.

Poor Grampa. His little mind is just about gone. He can't remember what happened, where it happened, who was involved, how he voted. The feebleness is more and more apparent with each passing day. Isn't this how Reagan was before he really started talking to the portraits? Will his Senate health care insurance be of any assistance?

John McCain's current story about his divorce from Carol Shepp doesn't match what he stated in divorce court documents:
This is another story he is changing to market himself to the family values crowd.
America hates hypocrites.

McCrazy's character isn't shown in being a POW, it's shown in how he treated his ex-wife. The POW behavior was forced on him and any other captives, his behavior with his ex-wife shows how he acts when he can do whatever he wants. Unfit to be president, he has no character at all.

My father is a military vet--special ops green beret during vietnam. While he does support getting POW's to safety and giving them the support they need he doesn't see being a POW as a merit badge--especially if you spilled the beans once behind enemy lines which is exactly what McCain did. We all know the truth behind his capture via his captors and other POW's in the same building--he wasn't tortured as he states. He was a trophy just like his wife. How do we continue to let him ride this horse? Its time for swiftboating.

A full and open release of McSame's medical and military records would set the record straight. Why has this been refused by McSame? The reason is the best evidence of a fraudulent candidate. Every day's events convince me that the Bush/Cheney/neo-coms are running the McSame campaign. Secrecy and lies are their methods.

This Steelers-Packers " substitution can be interpreted as either funny, sad, or simply a pandering lie. Given McCain's many past confused or incorrect statements one must simply wonder how this guy ever got to be a candidate for the highest office in the world! That is clearly AMAZING! Some political writer ought to start a written compendium of these McConfusions which would become a best seller.

Two things come to mind:
First, Giuliani did the same thing and got hammered. When he was in Boston, he said he would root for the Red Sox (having been a Yankees fan his whole tenure as mayor of NYC). He tried to wiggle out of it by saying that it was because the Red Sox was an AL team. No one bought it and he was ruthlessly hammered because of it, as well he should have been. McInsane is doing the same thing. There should be a Wisconsin cheese riot because of this.
Second, if he is implying that he was tortured for information, then he makes the case that torture does not work, he lied to get them to stop. And yet he votes to keep torture as a bent tool to extract [mis]information from captives? Also, was he tortured? What were the "physical pressures?" Why so coy? Is America using the same techniques now? Or maybe he wasn't really tortured but wants to imply it for the sympathy card. Either way, it has been forty years, why can't he be open and honest about it now?
Why do you hate America?
Wonder if he ever calls Cindy "Carol"?
The commercial would not be aimed at getting more votes but rather to make McCain's military support look weak after all their argument is that McCain is better for defense.
