  • Patrick_Bateman · 1 year ago
I can not believe Lieberman even has an inkling of a chance to retain it! Drop him now!

Are the Senate Dems really gonna stand for another 4 years of harry ried leadership?? I mean really this is a guy who has enable the bush junta for the last 7 + years.

We need to get rid of this milk-toast punk who bends at every whim of the bush crime family.

When Republicans had the majority, and thought it was going to be forever, it didn't stop them from stomping all over precedent. Remember the whole threatening of going nuclear? I do.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I also remember them holding committee meetings and not even informing the Democrats that they were taking place. Isn't it funny when the bullies get beaten how whiny they get?

    Indeed it is.

I wouldn't trust Harry Reid to tell me the time of day. His "leadership" since the tide turned in '06 has been a dismal failure -- one cave after another, even after claiming that he'd stand firm on issues that actually mattered. While he's pulled off the occasional stunt to placate the masses he's basically been the poster child for the status quo. The fact that he hasn't already asked Lieberman to pack it in and F*!@ off is evidence that he still doesn't get it. I'm sure there are those who'll argue that he's just being a savvy political player, but I for one have had it with the in-bred old boys' club that he seems to think he's running on The Hill.

I'm doubtful that Harry Reid is the one to reshape the Senate. I tell you what . . .
if Lieberman keeps his chairmanship, we'll know the truth . . . it's just another Pelosi-style operation.
If Lieberman does not keep his chairmanship, then we'll know . . . it might not be just another Pelosi-style operation.
If Harry Reid is replaced then we'll know for certain that the Democrats have over-ruled the DINOs.

Here in Mississippi, some of the locals are going ape shit over this election. Whitey has been keeping the Black guy down so long around here they don't know how to act. You're not gonna believe the following, but if you want to read about an institutional attempt to abuse our SCHOOLCHILDREN....

I think we need to refresh leaders in both The House and the Senate . . . . Give this brillant, energetic and compassionate new leader the opportunity to really achieve by giving him the caliber of leaders that matches his goals for a better America for all.

What? Norm Coleman filing a lawsuit? That would mean he'd have to have a....TRIAL LAWYER!!!!!

And what kind of numbskull files a suit in Ramsey when his beef is in Hennepin? He was the mayor of St. Paul, for goodness sake.

As far as Senate leaders, I couldn't agree more: Toss Reid out. He's too nice a guy, and he doesn't understand political theater (which is also Pelosi's problem).

We need a new Tip O'Neil.

It is important to note that Reid is not doing this out of whim. This is Senate protocol to keep the ratios of Democrats to Republicans similar on committees as the ratio is in the entire body of the Senate. I mention this because I don't want people to be confused when the right-wing media come along and says Reid is stacking the deck. This shifting of committee seats is normal. Same thing happened when the Dems lost the majority in the Senate!

"Negotiate? Negotiate?" LIsten, Stewart, Dems have a majority now...let Dems treat you assholes exactly the same way you have treated them for so many years.

And if Reid and Pelosi can't make good power plays, let's have some people who can. We have a lot of work to do, and no time to "negotiate" anything or play around with fools...

And BTW, have the people of Alaska figured out yet that while they might not be as good looking as their governor, they're probably a lot smarter?
  • davidkc · 1 year ago
Wimp Reid is not going to do anything to LIEberman, other than issue him a sternly worded letter. Pathetic.
  • red_dwarf · 1 year ago
Reid and Pelosi both are potential nightmares - they are as much of the old school as Cheney and McConnell. Reid, a good man, but weak, and Pelosi, who trashed the Constitution for political gain, are both detriments to the Democratic Party - it is really too bad they are not taken down - kissing LIEberman's ass is just a sign of what's to come.

"Mitch McConnell doesn't like this idea, which makes it all the better.."

What McConnell likes or doesn't like makes little difference, indeed, who in the hell would even listen to this homophobic bastard. Thanks Kentucky, from bringing back to the Senate for another 6 years the most corrupt SOB ever elected to Congress.
  • Apphouse50 · 1 year ago
Mitch McConnell? Now there's a guy whose stock should be plummeting at this point. That he even gets mentioned is a sign of how pathetic the state of the GOP is now. Same goes for Boner.

The guy I want to have at is Eric Cantor. I'm salivating at the chance to see him get taken down, and I doubt that will take very long at all.
  • Apphouse50 · 1 year ago
Personally, I find it discouraging that we're even talking about Harry Reid anymore.
  • Happy_Housewife · 1 year ago
So, out of curiosity, if you could wave a magic wand, who would you appoint as Speaker of the House, and Senate Majority Leader?

Who has the intestinal fortitude, intelligence, connections, and - most important to me - ability of make politics interesting to the American people?
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
Hilary Clinton as Senate Majority leader!!!!!!

and for right now, I'm not sure about the Speakership. It should be new blood, a new congress person. I'm biased and like a Keith Ellison.....
