Of course this is huge. When al Maliki made his statement about withdrawal, what--2 wks ago?--I commented that it sounded a lot like Obama's plan. Now this just confirms that al Maliki is on the same page as the next president.
This is very huge. It doesn't make sense to stay where we've never been welcomed. I'm wondering how the Rethuglicans are going to spin this one.

Could someone ask McCain to explain the difference between a "time line" and "time horizon"? Duh.

Trying explaining that to the Iraqis in Arabic!

Ma'alish in Arabic means something like "it doesn't matter" or "not a problem" which suits the intent, I think.

The "General Time Horizon" is defined as follows:
It's when the Big Hand is on the Iraqi oil and the Little Hand is on the WMD.

If I remember right Maliki came to DC right before the '04 election and basically said that everything was going great in Iraq and that the Iraqi people loved Bush and Co. Guess Maliki being political cuts both ways.....
Looks like it's time for the Neocons to install a new, more obedient puppet. Maliki better not get on any small aircraft, or walk in unlit neighborhoods...

Hey! Corporate Media! Quick!
Put your hands over your ears and start humming really loud.
You didn't hear it! You didn't hear it!
Now. McCain has some nice donuts for all of you!

I wonder how McCain will spin this. He certainly can't accuse Maliki of "not being on the ground in Iraq" before coming to any conclusions about the situation, as he did to Obama. Come on Grandpa, think, QUICK - say something - anything! And, not a great segue, but what the hell is a "time horizon"? Bush certainly can't explain it - in fact, I was shocked he could even pronounce it. The GOP crime syndicate must be reeling - they are copying everything Obama is saying and doing - I thought Karl Rove was more creative than that.

Seems like Maliki's been wanting to say that for awhile, but the Bushies put the hammer to him every time he hints at wanting US withdrawal.
He obviously wants Obama to win so he doesn't have McCrazy putting the hammer to him for another four years.

Funny how Maliki used Bush's "artificial timeline" meme and threw it back in his face.
"Whoever is thinking about the shorter term is closer to reality. Artificially extending the stay of U.S. troops would cause problems."

and I like his use of "artificially" suppose that's a comment on the surge?

Looks like Bush is following Obama's strategy in dealing with Iran and withdrawing from Iraq. How's McCain gonna claim Obama is inexperienced in Foreign Policy? McCain should fire Bush.

I guess the Bush "Phased Vague Event Horizon Leave Possibility Eventuality Subjecttochanguality Thing" from yesterday wasn't good enough for Maliki. Maybe he didn't get the memo that Iraq is only supposed to be used for partisan Republican purposes, not Democratic ones. Petraeus should have told him that. In any event i look forward to the next few days of the media explaining to me why this isn't a massive rebuke to Bush and a crippling blow to McCain.
they are so going to cut the brakes on Maliki's car

Well, the corporate media managed to ignore the Iraqi Parlament demanding a time table for withdrawl. I hope this time, with al Maliki, the message is a bit stronger. hah.
Cant wait for the next McCain presser. Bonus points to any reporter who asks McCain for a response to Malikis statement. The GOP will be frantic until they come up with some way to spin this. , hahah. Their heads are exploding. Cheney/Bush/McCain will find a way to stay in Iraq now. Get the CIA on it right away. Expect some big explosions soon.
Yea, this is huge. I am loving it. Just hope the real evil does not come out, in response, in the form of unidentifiable black hooded psy-ops violence.
