AMERICAblog: Is Clinton acting out because Obama told her no to VP?

  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
I am persuaded by Josh Marshall's idea that she is cynically constructing a "stab in the back" narrative to suppress her followers' turnout for Obama in November. Hence yesterday's return to the "kitchen sink."

Narcissists are spiteful and vindictive when others fail to ratify their "special" status.
  • DonQ · 1 year ago
I was about to post that the temper tantrum hypothesis sounds a bit sexist -- then I read DJ's post. Narcissism is the better interpretation. Now, why don't the party elders take her into a back room and mollify her (or do something creative with duct tape)?
  • Crazy8 · 1 year ago
I can't believe than anyone who voted for the war and has no clue to what is fair play would do as well as she is doing. She has no soul. I weep for a United States of America under Hillary. But this country voted for Chimpy twice, twice. We need our country back and Hillary is not up to the task.

Sorry to be OFF Topic, but this is SO FUNNY.

ON Sunday, The Minnesota Twins are giving away 2,500 BOBBLE FOOTS to the first set of fans to come to the game.

They are little bathroom stalls, with SHOES sticking out, and one TAP's in honor on Sunday, May 25th, National Tap Dancing Day.

    See it at http://stmedia.startribune.com/images/310*500/1...

John, I was thinking of sending you a tip on this very story. Pretty interesting and makes alot of sense over her temper tour in FLA and Bill feeding the journalists garbage about him wanting her for the vp spot very much.
It's about a temper tantrum and being kept away from the final route to regain power.
  • lauren1959 · 1 year ago
This makes a lot of sense. I know Maryland is different, but I want to know where all these women who love Hillary are? I've met one in the past six months. I'm waiting for Gore to endorse now that she's made the comparisons about Florida.
  • bkmn · 1 year ago
Hillary on the ticket as VP would bring out all the anti-Clinton folks and bring an Obama candidacy down. She is too much baggage, period.

At this point in time she should walk off stage, or be dragged off by crook if needed.

SuperDels...your time is now, don't wait for the party committees...save your party now!

This is, of course, the fury of a scorned woman. It's classic second wave feminism in action: go after what you want, and if you don't get it fall back on first wave tactics, chain yourself to the men's room door, and use all the pre-feminist tactics, tears, rumor, backstabbing, innuendo, threats and calling in your husband to do the really nasty work. Hillary is totally a product of her 1950's upbringing. She's hard wired for mean girl strategizing and she's temperamentally unsuited for a place in 21st century politics.

I cannot remember who said this (to give proper credit) but Chelsea should become Obama's food taster if Clinton becomes VP. LOL.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Well David Gergen said that he would need a food taster, though not Chelsea. Also I remember just last week Terry McAuliffe stating that Clinton is staying in the race because something "catastrophic" might happen to Obama. His very word.
  • gonzalez · 1 year ago
One year ago, I was planning on voting for her. I started to change my mind when she started to pander for conservative votes. Now, I won't vote for this person if she was the only one running. This is what happens when the leaders lack the courage to do what is needed. We get what we deserve! Someone has to have a seriuos talk with these idiots.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
What if the Iranians or someone else fails to pay tribute to her on the world stage?

    "I'll show them."
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    She's not stable.

    She's Bush-league thin-skinned.

    Watch out!
  • markthespark · 1 year ago
LuckyH is "dead right" pun intended, if she gets VP.

What are the odds she'll launch an "independent campaign", maybe as the "Women's Party"? She & Bill have deep pockets, after all. That would guarantee McSame the victory, apparently her goal since that evil Obama won't let her inherit the crown she was born to wear as one of America's two Ruling Families
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
I think their deep pockets are not so deep. They have $10mil in personal debt to the campaign and a bunch more unpaid bills to the vendors, lobbyists, sycophants and hangers-on.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I have been donating $100 a month to Obama's campaign and became a Democrat specifically to vote for him in my primary, and it would cost me both financially and emotionally not to vote for Obama at this point, but I would do that if Clinton were on the ticket. One of the reasons I came out for Obama early on was to preclude anymore Clintons or Bushes in the White House. She does not deserve to be in line for the presidency because she is full of character and judgment flaws If she cannot keep agreements she has signed onto with her own political party, you cannot take her word when she takes the oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.. The Clintons plural would be millstones around Obama's neck. For one thing, Bill Clinton has been a lobbyist or influence pedlar for Bush for the past 8 years. You don't make $109 million by just giving speeches and writing books. Obama would always have to be apologizing for them, and they would do anything they could to stab him in the back. Obama should have the prerogative to choose his own running mate for VP. He will, and I trust it will not be Clinton. P.S. He would not be starting his presidency out well if he were paying blackmail to the Clintons by putting her on the ballot to satisfy the lunatic fringe who will be her only supporters in the end.

Obama most surely quickly and assuredly flaked Clinton off his shoulder like problem dandruff. This genertational and correct FU to the old gurad really troubles the decaying dem power struture of yesterday. Bloated and rich uppity old wrinkled limousine liberal hags like Geraldine Ferraro are deepnly offended by this. Tough shit! Ferraro and that crowd must nnow accept that, with all of their money and things, are irrelevanbt and powerless now and forever.

As stated over and over, Hillary and her loyal followers must now the inevitable fact that she will be shining the shoes and carrying the water for a black man for the next four years as the junior Senator from New York. Their game is over as the next generation is taking over the helm.

Hillary is now the next Barbara Bush. Darling your pearls are divine.
  • tommytoonz · 1 year ago
    It's a temper tantrum.

That's all she has left. Way back in March when she thought "throwing the kitchen sink" was a strategy (it's not, it's a last ditch effort) it was apparent to all but the most loyal Clinton supporters that she wasn't going to win. It's sad watching her go down in such an unseemly way and it's quickly eating into the respect I had for her and the Clinton legacy as a whole.
  • Eyeball_Kid · 1 year ago
Good God. Everywhere on the blogs and news sites, we're hearing, legitimately, that Hillary's gone bonkers, and that "something needs to be done." Most practical suggestions include a move by the leadership (if that's what we're supposed to believe) to close down the race by telling the Supers to pledge to Obama in numbers high enough to make other decisions moot.

Well, we all know this now. We know that these blogs and news sites are read by the leadership/DNC. They aren't isolated. They read, they discuss. So, where's the leadership on this issue? Why don't we have some action? We don't need to wait any longer.

Are we to EXPECT that the leadership WANTS to destroy itself? Isn't this now a case of SELF-PRESERVATION?

Where the hell are you, Howard Dean? Where are you, Pelosi? Where are you, Harry Reid? And lastly, where are you, Al Gore?

Come on. We expect that all of you do the rational thing. Do it.

All Hillbots maddness is sickening...then I read this:

Chelsea Clinton Shows Knack for Politics
    http://news.aol.com/elections/story/_a/chelsea-...
Would Chelsea Clinton ever consider a role in politics? In an exclusive new interview with People magazine, Bill Clinton weighs in. "If you asked me (if Chelsea would run for office) before Iowa, I would have said, 'No way. She is too allergic to anything we do.' But she is really good at it,'" the former president told the magazine.
    snip:
Of Chelsea's political skills, her dad said, "It all changed after Iowa. She realized her mother lost Iowa 100 percent because of younger voters. She was upset, bawled, went to her employer and said, 'Look, you got to let me go or give me an indefinite leave of absence. I'm not letting my mother go down like this.'"
  • 57andFemale · 1 year ago
First of all, must be nice to be able to take an indefinite leave of absence and not worry about your mortgage, your health insurance, your bill. Now, who exactly is the elitist?

Second, she hasn't done so great with those young voters, has she?

But actual measurable success no longer matters to the Clintons.
  • Jenius · 1 year ago
After this, one must wonder...if she's willing to take it all the way to the convention, would she feel justified in launching an independent candidacy? If she thought this was her only chance and that became the new last remaining option? Gotta be slim chances, but the thought must have crossed someone's mind by now.

That bus left the terminal about two months ago - an express.

Hillary is just trying to bring Obama down to her level because she can't match his high level of consciousness. She rails against him in order to get a reaction out of him...the kind of reaction that only someone like her could relate to. Misery loves company.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Clinton has turned into a gut bucket sore loser only owing her political position to her marriage to a far more politically skilled spouse what happens to be a philandering smart piece of white trash. She is a sore loser doomed for nothingness, much like Geraldine Ferraro and Barbara. At least they have nice pearls.

Fuck Hillary. Fuck Ron Kuby for sucking up to her on Air America. Fuck Larry Johnson, Bartcop and Taylor Marsh for swiftboating Obama even after he has the majority of pledged delegates
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
Hillary has been acting bizarre as of late. Some days she doesn't mention Obama and other days she's stirring up trouble.

I don't think any of us truly knows what her motive is. It doesn't seem to make any sense. She can't win without tearing apart the party.

I just can't wait until presidential candidate Clinton is no longer out there to cause Obama problems.
  • FrequentPoster · 1 year ago
Everyone is missing an obvious and much simpler explanation for Clinton's bizarre behavior lately. She is working way too hard. I was watching the coverage on Tuesday night, and they said she flew from Kentucky to Washington, D.C. and arrived in D.C. after midnight. Her first speech on Wednesday in Florida was at 7 a.m., and she gave at least three speeches that day.

If you look at her, she's hopped up on something. Is it natural adrenalin, or should someone ask to interview her pharmacist? We'll never know the answer to that question, but human beings need more rest than Hillary Clinton is getting. These people are not machines. She is pushing herself beyond the limit, and it shows.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Agreed. I'm not getting enough sleep staying up late reading the 'blogs about all of this. They certainly cannot be getting enough sleep, rest, or proper food.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
John A.; I know that this is upsetting; but, I agree with you. Besides that, I hear there are new pressures on the superdels to abandon Obama. Mostly coming from rightwingers who have dug up some marginal paydirt on some superdels......
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
I feel like someone is paying you to agree with me so no one else will believe me :-)
  • 57andFemale · 1 year ago
    I haven't heard that. That's very disturbing.
