AMERICAblog: It takes two right wing Republicans to take on Rachel Maddow -- or NBC is just trying to be extra nice to the GOP because McCain is mad

The Maudlin Media will have to make very few adaptations in the event of a Trailer Park win. In the event of a Hyde Park win, Today's Maudlin Media will be next year's muckraker press.

How will Ms. Palin change things? For one, the Republicans will now whine that hitting girls is mean and that they really don't have to be as tough as the guys if they want to play politics in the big leagues. Unless they're Democrats, in which case they need to be even tougher for which they will be criticized.

The past few days actually brought the CorporateM$M closer to telling the Truth--then McCain made them realize that their brioche and caviar were in danger by going there and they're backtracking from the Truth as quickly as they can.

Maddow should snarkily say exactly that: "Oh! Now it's TWO of you against me!"

That was the first thing that hit me when I saw that this morning.....How come there are 2 of them and only Rachael.

    And Rachael L I S T E N S.
Where it takes repig 2 or 3 sentences to try and get across a "talking point"...Rachael can state here point in one sentence.

And I also noticed that no one EVER tries to correct Rachael....(except for Buchannaon) but no one ever Disputes Rachael.

You don't remember Joe Scarborough walking off the set BECAUSE he tried to correct her and she fired back?
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
Hell yes I remember. Joe is awful when someone makes a point he doesn't agree with. Did you see what he did to Shuster? He looked like ass that he is. I would hate to be one of his kids. He comes off so mean spirited. Shuster just didn't know what to say. Mika was stunned.

    Joe S. is a biased, beady-eyed bully.

That is what you get from a girl that attended Stamford University and a Rhoads Scholar. They also think one step ahead of the crowd and they make it simple. Just like Bill Clinton.

From what little I have seen this morning, Palin will garner all the press for the next 60 day despite McCain's tantrum over the press. The media has found a new "darling" to report on ad nauseum. The left side is going to have to be even more forceful in stories on Palin because there will be very little negative coming from the media.
  • megcho · 1 year ago
I was actually excited yesterday thinking that the media was finally going to take a stand, and report the truth. It now seems like it's gone in the opposite direction........please tell me this isn't really happenind!!
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
it takes a lot of spoon-feeding for them to get back on track.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Palin's speech was a shiny object waved in front of their eyes.

    They're mollified now.

Will take a long time to get them out of the trance.
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
The new media will vet her very soon. You the National Enquirer. They sure did a job on Edwards. I didn't like it. But oh well. They are a equal partner when it comes to news. If the mainstream media isn't going to do it than ask the national enquirer.

I love, love, love Rachel Maddow....I'd love to see her run for office, however she is so valuable as an analyst. She represents political discourse as it should be.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    God, that's sickening.

When Republicans gathered at Madison Square Garden to celebrate President Bush’s second nomination four years ago, Senator John McCain gathered at a restaurant uptown with some of the biggest stars in journalism to celebrate his birthday. Among those mingling over cocktails and fine French food with Mr. McCain and his wife, Cindy, were Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Bob Schieffer, Maureen Dowd, Tim Russert — “our people,” as an old campaign hand reminisced on Wednesday.

Please don't call these people journalists again. Call them media stars, talking heads, corporate media wags, politicos, whatever.....but they are not journalists.

Maybe Olbermann should cover it. Ain't like he can't find work.
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
In a way the press gets what it deserves. Ever since the republicans took over the white house the press has bent over backwards to stay on the good side of the white house. You know don't rock the boat. Instead the media and press decided to play with the devil going to the parties like correspondence dinners. I watched them and sad to say how can the press and media do a good neutral job while you and having a great time partying together. That should stop. People out in the country see through that kind of crap.

Gee, too bad McBush is mad. Rachel is great and they won't be able to touch her. She has got what it takes. Love you Rachel, keep it up.
  • Milli · 1 year ago
Reason for NBC for pitting her against two republicans: Rachel is quick on her feet, articulate, and not easily rattled. Therefore most of what she says goes right over the heads of these idiots. Five of them couldn't generate enough brainpower to go toe to toe with her. As a matter of fact, they should give the republicans a minute or two of silence to process what Rachel just said before they are required to respond. It would be the humane thing to do.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
The reason Rachel is so good is because the gal has her facts straight. You can spin, you can dance but when you are facing Rachel Maddow you better know your facts. Republicans are good at spin and short on fact

This season more than ever, we need to take a cue from Rachel and have our facts straight. No more stumbling around when asked "what has Obama done" , no more stumbling when told "Obama is raising your taxes" no more stumbling when the word "reform" comes up. In other words, less opinion rant and more factual context.

Much as I would watch Maddow take these two on, Watkins' Tomming for the most vicious elements of the GOP, especially Cheney, is too shameful to behold.
