This number system needs work. If I wanted to, I could raise hell with the posters, (as they are doing with me), but, I will not participate in the number program in that I am just a visitor. However, it needs work.

    CDS

For what it's worth, I respectfully suggest that you do the following:

Click on your Gravatar picture and then click on the Disqus "view full profile" link and then click on "Edit Profile" (just beneath your picture) and then look for “Display Name” and type in "CDS" [without the quotation marks] if you want to resume your traditional moniker.

The very idea that there could be a CDS2 – two of you, no less! -- is just a wee bit disturbing, given the fact that one CDS is more than sufficient. But, just call me a stickler for tradition despite my lefty values and perspectives.

Most of us agree with you about the "Clout" rating system, because we regard it as undemocratic, elitist, and fundamentally silly. So, to your everlasting benefit, feel free to ignore it.

The internets should be the last place where some form of established hierarchy -- based upon an arbitrary grading or rating system -- should be tolerated, let alone encouraged within online communities.

That said, please do stick around and be more than an occasional visitor-- I love our contentious but always civil debates on Ablog. We can always agree to disagree, and no harm, no foul.
    :)

  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
Sarah....I am the original CDS. I tried to change from CDS2, but, the system states that I do not have enough 'clout' to change my name. I'll try again later.

    CDS

Thanks for the response -- it's good to know that my instincts are still up and running where it comes to reading people online.

    CDS2

On second thought, it occurred to me that perhaps you're not the original CDS from the HaloScan days on Ablog and that you really are CDS2. If that's the case, then I apologize for suggesting that you change your moniker back to CDS. Or, maybe you are the original CDS and just fancied a new on-screen name.

I only mention it because the Disqus registration nazi forces one to select a user name and then won't accept the one that you have been using for the duration on HaloScan, thus demanding that you include numbers and underlines -- I had to go in and hit "Edit Profile" to change my name back to the one that I've always used on this blog without the stupid underlines.

    PS -- beautiful dog.

HRC is a scrappy fighter who, obviously, doesn't give up easily. The Media wants this fight to continue as long as possible. If Edwards would come out supporting Obama I think that would hasten HRC's departure (hopefully with a gracious exit). The "Bosnia" story certainly doesn't help her credibiity.

My main concern is that either candidate is going to be too "centrist" a president. After 8 years of horrific Republican rule where everything they touched turned into a disaster the last thing we need for the next 4 years (at least) is more Republican input. My dream is a Dem president with veto-proof Dem majorities in the House & Senate. Only that way would the Republicans be shut out from causing more disasters.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
I will start supporting Hillary, then she will quit.

That is what usually happens when I support a candidate.

Better get a yard sign out ASAP!
  • robertarhodes · 1 year ago
George Bush was always fond of saying that people would come up to him all the time and tell him how much they support him and pray for him. Sen. Clinton pretty much says the same thing. Just an excuse to keep her diminished campaign rolling along.
It is remarkable that Sen. Obama is running against both an ex-president and his wife and the repubs and is still standing.
The big wigs need to stop her - now.
  • Hennry2008 · 1 year ago
I am sorry but must you parrot Kos at every turn? Who says that Hillary lost. I say that it is Obama who is causing a civil war in the Democratic Party.

Where in teh DNC does it say that the SD need to follow Obama? They could do as they wish. They were created to avert this very scenario. Having a candidate in front that could cause us the election. They were created to correct mistakes and republican sabotage like Obama's candidacy. And this scenario would only be applicable if he would have reached the magic number, but he has not.
  • FNReedie · 1 year ago
Umm ... Obama has the delegate lead, the popular vote lead and the is catching up quickly on the declared super delegate lead. Statistically speaking, there is no way for HRC to catch up without some doomsday/scorched earth scenario.

Where is our dem leadership? Kennedy, Biden, Dean, Gore, Edwards - and some new people - McCaskill, Webb, Whitehouse - need to get together and tell the Clintons the truth. "Obama has the nomination by any measurement and we will not let you destroy the party and lose the presidency".

Someone sent me an article stating that neither Gore nor Edwards (through an aide from each) are not endorsing anyone.

    WTF?
  • hector · 1 year ago
CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. (AP) -- Saying the nation's immigration system is broken, Pennsylvania's largest grower of fresh-to-market tomatoes announced Monday he will no longer produce the crop because he can't find enough workers to harvest it. Keith Eckel, 61, a fourth-generation farmer and the owner of Fred W. Eckel Sons Farms Inc., said he saw a dramatic decline last summer in the number of migrant workers who showed up to pick tomatoes at his 2,000-acre farm in northeastern Pennsylvania. He said Congress' failure to approve comprehensive immigration reform had hindered his ability to hire enough workers to get his crop to the market. Most of Eckel's workers came from Mexico.

Hillary's the one who wants the Superdelegates to overrule the will of the voters and caucus goers.

It is you that want to change the rules to benefit Obama the republican candidate.

If Hill wins, Bill and Hill will make Hundreds of millions of dollars. If Mcshame wins, bill and hill make hundreds of millions of dollars.

If Obama wins, bill and hill become irrelevant has-beens. This aint so complicated.
  • theWalrus · 1 year ago
I can understand Gore not endorsing - he should stay out of politics permanently. Like HRC, too many people have a visceral hatred towards him. But Edwards - that just doesn't make any sense. I'm sure he wants to run again in the future. Maybe he's waiting for HRC to drop out before he supports Obama. Tricky move.
  • SPatrick · 1 year ago
I swear I have read this same post about 20 times now. All of this is fair campaigning. If Obama hadn't been obstructionist about Michigan and Florida we might have been able to close the book on this. Many people want this race to be over, but it is not.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
At this point, the number of Democrats whose endorsements could shake the race is down to Al Gore, the former vice president and presidential nominee; John Edwards, the former senator from North Carolina who dropped out of the race last month; and Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker. Aides to Mr. Edwards and Mr. Gore said that they did not expect either man to endorse anyone in the immediate future, if at all. Aides to Ms. Pelosi said she was unlikely to endorse at all.

    NYTimes article by Adam Nagourny

Two, maybe three, outcomes are possible: 1. The Democratic Party redefines itself as liberal after dumping Howard Dean. 2. The Democratic Party splits into the Corporatist and the Centrist Parties of Well Behaved Limousine Liberals. 3. The Democratic Party gracefully conceeds the November election to McCain through inaction, indirection, and indifference. In the first place, progressive thought triumphs but looses the election. In the second and third place, progressive thought retreats and the election goes to the Republicans anyhow. The outcome is the same.
Meanwhile . . . the Saudi royals and the sycophants dine in splendour. (Notice the foreign spelling?)

Henry 2008. It isn't Barack Obama who acts like "His Majesty"....as the real queen is your Hillary. I was told by a Republican in January that Hillary will bloody the Democratic Party so badly, that it may not survive. Sad that a Republican saw this early on yet some in our party are just keeping their fingers crossed and hoping to wake up from the bad Clintonian dream.

The Clintons will "say anything, do anything" in their quest for power and care less how many Democratic bodies they leave on the scorched field. They are as Machiavellian as Karl Rove.

She cooked her own goose with that one.

Jimfromthefoothills. Remember it is only 22 days until the Clintons release their tax records for the past several years. I still remember them pleading poverty in 2000 as fighting Ken Starr over the years had run up huge legal bills. While most Americans have suffered under 7 years of Bush, the Clintons have socked away from 40 to 60 MILLION dollars, maybe more? If Hillary loses both the nomination and her next senate race, maybe she should go on late night TV with infomercials on "How to Get Rich Quick" followed up by a seminar at the local Holiday Inn.

  • AngelaChanning · 1 year ago
I think the biggest knee-capping to Obama so far has been the Rev. Wright stuff. I don't have a good feeling about this...it kind of reminds me of the Swift Boating of Kerry and the Dean Scream. And surprisingly, I did not get the impression that Drudge was playing it up more than anyone else, or did I forget to take my pill?

Anyway, the Clinton camp claimed that Hillary mispoke with regard to the Bosnia trip. No, if she misspoke, it would have been a detail that was not material to the story...Clearly, these were bold face lies. It is almost like me saying I am really the matriarch of Falcon Crest when I am really a gay man in Baltimore. Thank you for listening.

    >>>>

Well, the threaded approach really worked well, but a few people whined and John turned it off. Now, all the whiners have disappeared and we're stuck with this sucky approach.

Back on topic. One of Hillary's problems -- perhaps her biggest problem -- is that everything she has said and done for the last 20 years has been calculated for her coronation as the Dem candidate. Every time she sucked up the right-wing abuse and then went over and kissed their feet -- when she didn't go punch Monica in her cum-soaked mouth or at least toss Bill's shit out onto the White House lawn -- when she triangulated and capitulated in the Senate -- when she moved to Chappaqua -- it was all part of a calculation to get the nomination and become the first female president.

Then, along came Obama and it all started to fall apart. But, she's like a pit bull with a bone. She just can't let go. It means the last 20 years of her life were wasted.

    Joe: Amen!

It's time to point this out and get the superdelegates to choose. Obama is certain to lose PA, but not by enough to make any difference, so any superdelegates waiting this out for some upset moment to give them cover are only delaying the inevitable to everybody's detriment. Somebody needs to step forward and say, "It's over, there's nothing noble about any of this, let's get it over with now so we can prepare for the general."

Hardball was fascinating today. Chuck Todd came right out and said that the Hillary strategy is to injure Obama enough that he loses to McCain in the general. So this isn't even a strategy for her to win the nomination anymore. This is just pure sabotage for personal ambition.

Instead, the Clinton campaign obsesses about a comment on an Iowa blog and attacks against Bill Clinton, not even their own candidate. Thanks Firebrand for the links on war plans for Iran. The re\aw story link doesn't work, so I'll go to the site and look up the story. There is no doubt this is coming. Do you remember last summer when they wanted to send US Diplomats to work in the US Embassy and they stood up, in front of cameras, and called it as suicide mission and who planned to take care of their families after they were killed? Well, Condi had to back down on that, but within days they talked about sending wounded US vets. only to abandon that idea quickly. I suspected then that they intended to bomb the embassy and blame it on Iran to launch the war. Keep in mind the embassy is riddled with structural failures and the source of a ton of fraudulent contractual fraud and billing. It also happens to be heavily insured. Then the big drum beat prior to the NIE which killed the momentum. Now this. I haven't found much on these green zone attacks but with this crew, would not be surprised if we did it.

It's no big secret that I have spent the past two years here arguing that Hillary Clinton should not be President. I have laid out my reasons as best I can. I have stated that I will not vote for Clinton under any circumstances. I have been pummeled and called names I won't repeat. That's OK, I don't take it personally. Much of the discussion has been rather fun, if somewhat contentious. But as much as I oppose Hillary, I'm pretty sure she CAN win if her opponents take the attitude that she CAN'T win.

Can she win the popular vote? Nope.

Can she win the pledged delegate count? Nope.

Can she win the most states? Nope.

So you might think, looking at these superficial and rather irrelevant numbers, that the math is not in Hillary's favor. Such an error would be forgivable as most folks do not possess an advanced degree in political mathematics from The Carville Institute. You see, in political math, 2 + 3 sometimes equals 5 but sometimes it equal 12 and at other times, zero. So, if you've run the math and come to the conclusion Hillary can't win, maybe you'll want to run that math. Again.

Can Hillary still win the Democratic nomination? From painful personal experience I can tell you that underestimating your opponent is the quickest route to undesired consequences. It's not that Hillary is unbeatable. She is, in fact, quite vulnerable and very stoppable. But it is far too early to call it over. You think it's all about the popular vote and the pledged delegates. That's like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Think Charlie Brown and the football.
  • SPatrick · 1 year ago
So what if the Super Delegates decide the nomination? Those are the rules right? If you don't like it, you should have changed the rules.

That is basically the message you have given to the voters in Florida and Michigan. Rules are rules after all.

Hillary won't be satisfied until she gets the nomination, even if she destroys the Democratic Party doing it. If she had class, grace, and style, she'd plan her exit. But she's a Clinton instead, and hope she never wins another election.

(I'm going for neg points here )

    :)
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Well I'm giving you a plus point Rusty! :)

Everything you said is right. I hope NY shows her the door when her senate seat comes up. It's time to see the Clintons retire from public life like Ford did.
  • troqua · 1 year ago
HIllary would rather tear the party apart than concede the inevitable. We all know how it is with the Clintons by now. Win at any cost. And if you can't win, destroy your opponent so he can't win either. Hell, she's almost a surrogate for McCain at this point. What kind of Democrat praises the GOP candidate while trashing the other Dem candidate? There's some kind of sickness there. I've had enough of presidents with personality disorders. Say what you like about Obama, he is at least sane, comfortable with himself, and knows who he is.
  • DonnieD · 1 year ago
I'm actually starting to see stories where they point out this FACT about her losing the nomination now on the television networks (finally).

Over a month late, networks, but welcome to the world of reality where your picture of a neck and neck contest is so far from the truth it might as well be on Fox.
  • dula · 1 year ago
If Hillary's last resort is the Super Delegates then it is time for them to publicly pledge their votes either way so we can see if she can manipulate the nomination her way. If the SDs are gonna go against the will of the people in support of her then they need to do it now so we have more time to salvage the Party before November.
  • SPatrick · 1 year ago
Well it seems the DNC has gone against the will of the people, so why not the Super Delegates?
  • DaveinMpls · 1 year ago
She can win, though. The rules are whoever has 2,025 delegates wins the nomination. Barack does not have a moral high ground here. Barack supporters want to re-write the rules to whoever has the most primary/caucus delegates wins. There's also the made-up Obama rule that the Supers need to rubberstamp their constituents (where does that leave Kennedy/Kerry/Richardson?). 2,025 is all that matters. If Hillary hits that and wins, it won't be a "coup," but fair and square by the rules. Since Obama doesn't have 2,025 yet, he hasn't won.

I agree with posters here that a Hilary Super Delegate win will create a lot of resentment, but we may have to just swallow that in order to ensure a Dem wins in November. After all, if Barack wins there will also be a lot of resentment from the HRC side, not to mention voters in MI and FL who understand that it was the Obama campaign that killed the revotes. I don't see any sign that Barack's supporters will be reaching out to them. The bottom line is, we need to be one party in November. How will you accomplish that? Using irresponsible language like "coup" will ensure a McCain presidency.
  • DaveinMpls · 1 year ago
Sorry. "Coup" was the language used by kos, but I doubt he's getting any disagreement from you guys.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I read that some cracks are appearing in her organization, that campaign workers are telling her that if she's just out to destroy Obama at this point, they are going to quit. I hope so. It would be great if they start deserting the ship soon. If it is her intent to destroy Obama and in the process destroy the party, the leadership will need to expel her before the convention. They need to come to a decision after the primaries have run their course but before the convention. Has anyone ever been expelled before?
  • DaveinMpls · 1 year ago
She just wants to win the nomination, just like BO does. HRC is a partisan animal--she wants to see a Dem in the White House. It's not personal, and she has nothing to gain by "destroying" BO. That's just paranoia.
  • Sarah B. · 1 year ago
Yes, well, take a deep breath and get out the calculator....

The "Hillary Can't Win" meme is fast becoming conventional wisdom -- both inside and beyond the Beltway -- and this is a rare moment in politics when reality matches the perception.

Moreover, this useful meme even applies to Cokie Roberts’ law – “It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not…it’s out there!”

Sadly, despite the high numerical probability that she can't win the nomination by running a good race and winning the greatest number of pledged delegates and playing by the rules, Hillary is determined to continue her destructive and divisive campaign by employing the Clintonian classic -- triangulation of the Superdelegates .

The Clintons believe that the Democratic Party is their wholly-owned subsidiary, and that the voters -- and, especially, the Superdelegates -- are there to serve their own personal needs and ambitious, not the other way around -- and that gross misperception is going to be their nemesis in 2008. The Clintons have lost their mojo and it just ain’t workin’ this time.

Hillary is ahead in the latest Pennsylvania polls, but so what? It's just too little, and way too late – even John Murtha’s endorsement can’t save her:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/pr...

Still, even if Hillary's lead in Pennsylvania polls remains unchanged between now and the primary, she still can't catch up to Obama, let alone surpass him in the pledged delegate count.

Bon voyage, Bill and Hill -- Good fucking riddance!
    :(

And there won't be "civil war" or at the very least discontent should Obama win with Florida and Michigan being discounted?

Clinton closes the gap -- and even surpasses Obama -- counting Michigan and Florida as-is.

Sorry, John. This Michigan voter doesn't agree with your assessment that Hillary is trying to "buy" Michigan. Most Democrats, except the hard-line Obama supporters, want a re-vote here at best, and to count at the very least.

There will be an MSM furor over Obama winning without accounting Michigan and Florida in any capacity because of the "rules." The SD's breaking to Clinton, IMO, is a better negative narrative than "Florida and Michigan didn't count -- Obama wins!" negative narrative heading into the GE.

Neither candidate can claim piety until these two LARGE DELEGATE STATES get their voices heard prior to the convention.
  • cjfb · 1 year ago
There is a silver lining to a continued primary season.

All the work accomplished contesting a state in the primary is work that will not have to be done in the general. All the precinct captains trained, the volunteer lists established, the voter registration, updated voter lists, canvas maps produced, etc. The foundation for getting out the vote in November will be laid.

A nasty, divisive campaign of course will do damage, but the practical side of what it takes to organize a state counts for something.
  • kenneth212 · 1 year ago
But Obama can't "win" in the traditional sense either (have you seen his pledged delegates lately?), so to act like Clinton should just throw in the towel to please Obama's more vocal fan base is a bit presumptuous. (I'M a Democrat TOO and I don't want her to quit, so there.)

The party is strong and will rally behind whoever does end up getting the nomination. If you really think what amounts to typical politics between Obama and Clinton -- ooh, it's so bad that they're attacking each other in a political race! -- is going to erase eight years of the Bush administration from the general population's minds then you're really underestimating people.

It's not Clinton's fault that the system was designed in a way that did not reasonably allow for this type of close situation, so why shouldn't she see it through?
  • Sarah B. · 1 year ago
    Kenneth

Hillary is welcome to "see it through" -- as you suggest -- and I expect her to do exactly that. But at what cost?

If you don't see the downside to a scenario in which Obama wins more pledged delegates, more popular votes, more red and blue states, only to have the nomination taken from him via a Clintonian power play involving the Superdelegates, then I wonder how you could imagine anything less than a serious breach of Democratic Party cohesion as we approach the November election.

Your confident assertion that all the Democratic and Independent voters who flocked to Obama's campaign for a variety of reasons will suddenly cut their losses and coalesce to rally behind Hillary Clinton at the 11th hour strikes me as a wee bit unrealistic and naïve.

Many of us will vote for the Democrat in November, even if we have to hold our noses while doing so, but for Independents and idealistic young voters who believed in Barack Obama’s campaign as a genuine movement for change -- and who believed that their participation in politics could make a difference -- might not feel very inspired or motivated to show up to vote for Hillary Clinton on election day.

    Just sayin’….

    >>>>"but for Independents and idealistic young voters who believed in Barack Obama’s campaign as a genuine movement for change -- and who believed that their participation in politics could make a difference"<<<<

Oh, yes. I think you've JUST DESCRIBED John McCain's base! And I'm the one who is unrealistic and naive? :-)

why won't the super-delegates get out there and endorse?? What are they waiting for, sure seems like a bunch of whimps!
Gov. Richardson did an awesome thing in his endorsement of Barack, Bless his soul!! I always liked him and he seems like a genuine good person, unlike that horrible James Carville!! I use to like him and the Clintons, but now they have showed their "fruits" that the bible tells us to judge one by, and they are in the mud!!
I will never vote for Hillary, I will stay home and not vote for that phony hateful deceitful person. Why can't her supporters see into her, they are those shallow thinking kind of people, who just go along with no thoughts of their own.

If Hillary should get the nomination -- which seems increasingly doubtful if not impossible at this juncture -- I will hold my nose and vote for her as painful and depressing as that will be -- for one reason:

I don't want McCain being in a position to appoint the next United States Supreme Court Justice(s) -- and there could be at least one or two openings in the next four years.

Justice John Paul Stevens was born in 1920, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born in 1933 -- do the math.

McCain has gone on record that he will seek nominees for the high court who embody all the narrow-minded fascist leanings of the current crop of right-wing wackjobs -- Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, and Alito -- and one (or more) crazy-clones like those four and Roe v. Wade will be history. But that’s the worst-case scenario.

Actually, I look forward to Barack Obama winning the nomination and being in a position to balance the Supreme Court with sane, rational, reasonable jurists who will uphold the Constitution and who demonstrate a willingness to put the rights of the people over those of giant corporations. What a concept!

Great link...thanks. It is interesting to know that Fla and MI were strong armed in order to prevent so many Primaries from taking place before Feb 5th which could have resulted in deciding the nominee too quickly...exactly what Hillary supporters are complaining about now.

Its not over for Hillery until you see the box going in the hole. Even then think twice you never know she may still make a comeback!
  • dula · 1 year ago
I don't get the rationale that because neither candidate can reach the 2025 delegates it doesn't matter who is ahead. If Obama were up only 20 or 30 delegates then maybe I could see the sanity of Hillary "seeing it through". The fact is that Obama is up over 100 delegates. Hillary can't close that gap considerably even with Fla and MI and Pa wins...remember Obama will get a portion of those delegates even if Hillary wins those states...he will still be up significantly.
  • Lansing_Quaker · 1 year ago
    mirth,

    I'm full of sh*t? Thanks.

I do direct anger at our State Party leaders over the initial fiasco. But now I direct anger at the Obama camp for trying to stall a re-vote, especially amidst the Kwame fiasco.

I give blame where it's due for then. I've WRITTEN my State dems over the Primary. But should I keep hating my state party - the outfit that governs our local policy - because a HYPOTHETICAL Presidential CANDIDATE is flagrantly ignoring any attempt at a revote?

    No.

My State Dems still do good work for the citizens of Michigan. Obama and Clinton do nothing for Michigan on an intricate level. Clinton supports a re-vote. Obama does not. I am furious with Obama over this. If the roles were reversed, I'd be furious with Clinton.

Not allowing the most economically challenged State, and Ohio's more Democratic cousin, a place at the table is an egregious error.

Keep saying I'm full of shit. I LIVE in Michigan. Do you?

Does anyone really think it matters who becomes President of Bushland? Can anyone really tell the difference between the Democratic P and the Republican P? Go ahead, I challenge you to name the differences WHERE THEY MATTER (on the economy and attitudes to war). Who opposed the imperialist venture in Iraq? Who is it that props up failing banks, welfare for the rich? Does any one of these presidential candidates have an opinion on these matters?
Obama's preacher friend was RIGHT!! The whole world believes the US of A interferes in other people's affairs in the interests of global capitalist corporations, like Monsanto or Halliburton and many others. The preacher tells the truth and poor old Obama has to distance himself from these uncomfortable truths.
No, it doesn't matter who wins (unless you think politics is only about non-monetary things like abortion rights or prayer in schools). Whoever wins will have to dance to the tune played by the Globals.
We no longer have the Cold War and all those nasty commies who MAKE us (honestly, we couldn't help it) spend money on Star Wars , so let us invent a permanent war...the War against Terrorism. Does no one realise that terror has been with us for many many centuries in one form or another...like prostitution, it is always with us...and so we can go on planning spending the taxes of Americans for virtually EVER.
The great British writer, George Orwell, writing his 1984 in 1948, shows a world in which war is permanent. The Bush administration has achieved that fictional reality in just five years.
And which of McCain, Clinton or Obama is going to dismantle this terrorist system? Does no one see how the government of the US of A commits acts of terror against not only the rest of the world, but against its own people?
Go ahead and vote if it makes you feel better.

With Adm Fallon gone, the stage is set.
Perhaps Hillary knows about a coming Iran strike and she is calculating that the country will turn away from calm, thoughtful Obama, opting instead for a bitch cowboy to "protect" us.

And most likely she is correct.

That's it, Rusty! The more negative points you get, the better. :)
Trolls can vote, and the current crop is from a particular low-functioning blog.

John explained that the good thing with Disqus is snagging trolls is MUCH easier and there is no limit to the amount that can be banned (Halo only allowed for 20).

They can f*ck with our points, but they cannot get into our heads.

What we need to do is regroup now that we are getting used to Disqus. It seems to me that our sense of community has ebbed. One of these nights we need to have a blowout thread...and see how many -points we can accumulate!

Also contributing to our disintegration as a party is, with very few exceptions, silence from Edwards and Gore and Carter and a host of other influential Democrats. Where the hell are their endorsements? If they are waiting for a more advantageous time to speak, here's a flash for them: We need you NOW!

Rusty, my +points gets wiped out every night and each morning I'm at -20 something. No biggie. For several commenters here, the rating points have become a tool for children. Best to see the humor in it and enjot the attention. ;)

Here's how I deal with the threads: Usually before commenting I read from bottom to top. I have my organize option set to load new comments at the top near the comment box. That way, once I comment, it's easy to keep up with new ones as they appear.
I prefer the 'flat' rather than indented comments. With indented, a commenter might reply to an hours-old comment way downthread and I'm likely to miss it.

    Lansing_Quaker,

No matter how you spin the FL/MI delegates fiascos, your gripe is between you citizens and your state Dem leaders.

In other words, you're fulla s*it.
