AMERICAblog: Jed presents "John McCain's Neverending War"

Vanity Fair's parody of the New Yorker cover... the only thing is, all the depictions are true. It isn't really parody.

McSame's "neverending war" is really a neverending occupation for oil sources. The surge is as much a fraudulent concept as the lies which enabled the invasion and subsequent occupation. 100,000 Sunnis have been hired at $ 300 per month ( paid by the USA ) and have been given weapons to kick insurgents out of Anbar. Is this the "SURGE " McCain is boasting about? AlSadr is now waiting in the wings with his Madi Army and will fight if the elections don't go his way. Is this the " surge " Mc
Cain boasts about? The ethnic cleansing has been the major contributor in Baghdad's temporary " pacification". Is this the " surge" about which McCain is boasting? McCain is McBush and lies even more.

I'm glad Jed's on our side. His video editing rocks

It's great, but they need a short one if they want it to go viral.

" I disagree with what the majority of the American People want "! Gee where did we hear that before? Oh that's right, the Bush administration!

McCain is addicted to this war. It's his alcohol and his cocaine! It's taken over every minute of his life. I think if the war did end and we brought the troops home, he'd drop dead out of withdrawal! The old man is sick! Just picture this country with McCain as the leader! He's obsessed!

PS He's also too damn old to be president! He's pathetically senile!

I just downloaded the documentary "Crude Awakening" about the history and status of oil in the world. The entire middle east situation had nothing to do with anything but keeping the profits of Exxon Mobil at peak until this liquid is totally gone. The Iraq War was about nothing but oil. However...Karl Rove and Dubbya's boys spun this so elegantly that the nation gave him two terms. The film is quite scary because we may actually be too late to find alternate sources of energy and the world will go into chaos. I won't survive because I don't own a plot of gardening land to grow food. I hope that you do. You may be living off the land in a short number of years.

The three trillion that was spent on Dubbya's PR stunt war to control the precious few drops of oil left could have been spent on wind power, solar, etc to at least give us an electrical grid. On technology to develop electric vehicles. But no things like gay marriage and other distractions did work to get him this eight years of making sure his buddies kept their profits high and we ignored reality.

We are now at a crossroads. And the future is not pretty. I am not even sure anyone in government is willing to talk about the realities. I mean Jimmy Carter did and look what it got him. Rent the film. It is chilling.

Bostonian: you can always move to Western Pa. I have 43 acres and lots of space. I have watched the film and agree that we are at a tipping point in terms of energy consumption and availability.
I just ordered a wind turbine from a company called Windstream. It products 4KW a should almost cover my electrical needs. When the wind blows the meter goes in reverse. It is only $12 K installed and comes witha 10 year warranty.

Like a said, if the shit hits the fan come to Pa. Lots of space, some nice neighbors, small gay community. Great debates and discussions on Friday and Saturday around the pond or by the camp fire, with like minded people.

    Lynchie,

I'm in California and after rebates I paid $20K for a 3.1 kilowatt solar system. In the summer it creates 21K of electricity a day. How much juice a day does your wind turbine make? It sounds like your wind turbine gives you more bang for the buck.

It will produce 1000KW hours a month based on 6 to 8 mph average wind speed. I live at the top of a valley facing west and have a constant breeze and many times a sizeable wind gusts as high as 55 mph. The unit will accomodate 135 mph and. I looked at solar because I have a workshop with a south facing roof that is 100 x 40. The cost was over $35K. I could get 3 turbines for that. Guy I am dealing with does solar and he says to wait for the photovoltaics which will lower price and be more practical. This unit products much more than my total useage so I will earn a credit with the net metering enforced here in Pa. I think it is going to be up to the public to do this. Our politicians are hopelessly out of touch with reality and are paid shills for the electrical, oil and auto companies. we need to each do what we can and get off the grid. I use vegetable oil from MacDonalds in my 25 year old Mercedes diesel. Runs great, less maintenance and they don't dump the oil in the land fill and pollute the ground water.

My buddy runs his pickup on McD's used oil. He told me that kids are stealing it now at night to run beat up old diesel golfs. I ride my Ebike and buy my power from Green Mountain which uses only solar and wind to feed the grid. On my teacher's salary I cannot afford a new car with diesel. And I don't need it anyway with the Ebike. But I am only one little pissant in a big city full of 6mpg hummers and SUVs. McCain stickers here all over the highways.

What a very kind and sweet thing to offer me, Lynchie. I shall be very
interested in hearing how your wind turbine works out. I also have faith in
us as a nation. I think the election, unless we wind up with a tie again, or
semi tie, and a SCOTUS playing roulette again, things may begin to change
for the better. Obama strikes me as a Kennedy type. Something like "I want
this great land to be energy independent in a decade." Kinda thing in his
inaugural. Maybe. He could go down in history as one of the greatest leaders
of this century. The man who got us off of oil. Yeah, I know, what about
plastic, and foods, and meds that come from oil. I don't know. With 43 acres
you should be able to survive pretty well there. BTW....dallasfoto at gmail

My favorite Obama line from yesterday is apt when applied to describing the vid's avalanche of McVideo..."Reality is reasserting itself."

    one can only hope...

funny, there's a video on youtube (one of those shown following Jed's video) that ends with a psuedo mccain slogan.

'John McCain, like hope... only, different.'

This video and its contents are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE. Please do not let it vanish to archives. This should be seen by as many potential voters as possible. I would donate $$$ to have this broadcast during a highly viewed TV/Cable slot. Perhaps it could be shaved down to a more manageable length without losing it's punch.
