AMERICAblog: Jed wonders "how many John McCains are out there?"

  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
There are plenty of Americans who have only ONE issue this election...skin color.

Listen to all the howls of outrage when McCain says, "You do not have to be scared of Barack Obama..."

    Not just disappointment, but outrage!

    very scary people...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I hear that voice over from the Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop commercial, "The world may never know..."

when posed that question, "How many John McCains are there?"

Unethical Sarah Palin is trying to tell everyone how John McCain is going to cut wasteful spending in Washington by getting rid of that program they know American's hate so much - Social Security! Wheeeeeeee!
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Will someone please shut this stupid bitch up?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Not until we safely elect Barack Obama. Until then, I hope she just keeps digging that hole.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Sarah Pailn LIVE - "John McCain will place a SPENDING FREEZE on government so you will REALLY be OWN YOUR OWN! He will still vote to provide BILLION DOLLAR bailouts, though... You won't have to worry about all those executives on Wall Street, and he will HELP THEM, and HE WILL cut social security so you can move your grandparents in with you, and bring American family's closer together so John McCain can STILL afford to own TWENTY HOUSES!"

Stupid angry Nazi followers, "HOORAY!!!!! Wheeeeee!!!!! YEAAAAAA!"

Why can Republicans read between the lines? We sure can!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I think you mean "can't" as in "Why can't Republicans read between the lines?"

They don't have any logical, analytical ability. Democrats are more analytical. I've found many Republicans to be passive learners, and some are just plain stupid and bigoted. They do what they are told like the many fascist Germans of the 1930's. Democrats question more. Republicans are the type to watch a commercial, and believe it because the "teevee told them" to think that way. Democrats watch the same commercial and do not accept it unless it makes logical sense.

I also think as two separate groups, Democrats have a plus fifteen to twenty IQ point difference. We are more intelligent, and I refuse to be unapologetic about it. There are some smart, but GREEDY AND EXTREMELY RICH Republicans who rely on the majority of their party's stupidity, but our general membership is far more intelligent.

It's called nuance and reason, two things the REPUKES lack.

I think compassion and ethics are also a part of what we are.

You're right! Sorry -- my thanks to the grammar police squad!

Will John McCain and Sarah Palin be held responsible should, God forbid, anything happen to Obama? Will they be prosecuted for inciting violence?
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
And if any of us wonder how many assholes are running around out there, here's a nice story about how the Army is basically ignoring the beating of a Jewish trainee for wearing his kippah (yarmulke) during meals at the base. Nice. Real nice. Even fellow trainees using the word "Juden"....God Bless America! You go girl, Caribou Barbie! You go girl! Rally up them bigots!

I am ever so glad that we, in the 21st Century, have left behind all of those archaic, uninformed and bigoted views of religion and race (not to mention sexual orientation)! What a joy and comfort it is to know that each of us, though different from the majority, has all of the rights, and freedoms, the majority enjoys!

When I was in college, a girl I knew began dating a Jewish guy from Long
Island. She was from Alabama. Well it got serious. They decided to announce
their engagement. So they flew down from New England to Alabama to spend a
weekend with her folks. Well it came time to inform her family that he was
Jewish. Her father said...and I ain't bullshittin' ya...
"Well...Jewish, Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Disciples of Christ...we all
    love Jesus."

They wound up eloping about a year later because when her parents finally
learned that Jews do not believe in Jesus, they disowned her. The guy was a
totally secular Jew...well maybe once a year on Yom Kippur..but they raised
their kids with no faith in that home. I think they would put up a Christmas
tree but that was the extent of any religion. I have not talked to them in
years but it was a very happy home...she got rid of her drawl and they lived
    in Manhattan happily ever after.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
You can bet that those Army guys voted for George W. Bush twice! If they are bigoted, anti-semites then they are REPUBLICANS!
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
Being Jewish, this makes me sick.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
The abject ignorance down here is beyond belief sometimes. A native cowboy
friend of mine, who is Ivy educated and now lives in NYC, told me about how
one night, at his grandmother's house, on Easter Sunday night, he was about
8, "The Ten Commandments" was on TV. I think ABC still runs that every year
on that night. Anyway he yelled from the living room, "Grandma, wass
Passover?" She yelled back from the kitchen..."I dunno child...has somethin'
to do with Easter...now finish up your ham sandwich."

If she can get them all riled up maybe we can simply put them in cargo ships to Iraq. They can then live out their wildest dreams fighting for Amurica to defend us from the hoards of Muslims who want to live here.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Oh I think Caribou Barbie is going to be a tiny footnote in American
history. On November 5th, she can move back to Wassila and spend her days
going through their public library and burn some books.

    It's a good morning.

I was looking at the Newspaper Front Pages over at newseum.org, and nearly all the swing state papers I looked at had "Palin abused power" on their front pages (usually below the fold).

Here's the lift papers in case anybody wants to look them up for themselves.

    http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/main.asp

    LOL.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    ouch - that hurts! LOL
  • maggiePA08 · 1 year ago
That was the front page headline in my local paper, the Bucks County (PA) Intelligencer, this morning! Good times!

John McCain tries to make his Talibangelical hate followers HATE Obama and yell death threats, then he tries to back then down?

Isn't that like the arsonist who sets a fire then goes back and helps firefighters fight the fire to be complimented as a citizen hero?
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
if McStain is not already toast--sticking with your fire metaphor---he knows he will be charcoal if ANYTHING bad happens as a result what he and Hitler-in-heels have stirred up.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Hitler-in-Heels!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody fucking brilliant....I'll use it.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
unfortunately, i cannot claim credit. Someone used it on TV yesterday, probably on MSNBC, wnich is all I can really stand to watch. It is really scary, though, because right after the debate I kept having the word "Hitler' cross my mind about Palin, probably after her last remarks about the creative possibilities for the VP role. I had calmed down a little, and figured it was my subconscious linking "Mooselini" and the fascists. But then came this week, and I was chilled to the bone by her behavior and those spooky crowds.
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
He was enjoying it all until his fellow Congresscritters started getting angry. Yeah, that's real change, he won't even be able to work with anyone after all this, win or lose.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Since all the newspapers are telling us Sarah Palin isn't afraid to abuse her power, I think this animated cartoon is HIGHLY appropriate:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/opinions/c...

Just what we need. Another Vice President who isn't afraid to abuse her power.
  • Laura-In-CC (fka Doodlebug) · 1 year ago
But if the president isn't able to "properly" fulfill his/her duties (i.e., incompetence or senility) a vice president just has gotta have the powers to control 2 branches of government and then control the 3d by the appointment/nomination process. Why can't you see how very logical this is?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i think the word to describe McCain is psychotic
  • Wisconsin Liberal · 1 year ago
    My word is unstable
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
McCain's campaign is pathetic. I almost feel sorry for the guy. If he wasn't such a jerk, that is. He tried to run as the real McCain, couldn't get the nutjob base with that stratergery so he sold his soul to the nutjob neocons. He failed to recognize that the climate from the last eight years has finally changed and now he's put himself into an unwinnable box. He should have come over to our side in 04 when he had the chance. But then again, he just thinks they are going to steal it for him anyway, so none of this matters. He just has to hang out for another 20 or so days.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Ummm, I think what you're seeing IS the REAL McCain... he's just had an adoring media following since he was released from "prison" that has been willing to cover up / excuse / or just plain sweep under the rug ANYTHING that didn't fit the narrative of "John McCain - THE ONLY American HERO"

His base, the media, hasn't been able to do that since the rise of the internet and those "irresponsible, angry, leftist bloggers" started poking around where they weren't wanted.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
The media has covered for the right wing for years and years. The covered for Foley, Delay, Craig, Vitter, the intern scandal during Bush I. they know where their bread is buttered but now it all stops. In 26 days they will turn their attention to Obama full time. They will print every sleazy accusation the right throws up there.
McCain has never been a maverick, he has been a royal prick. He is angry, without ethics and without any moral ground to stand on.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    So much for executive experience.

    Time: Palin Administration "shockingly amateurish."

    http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,859...
  • Hawk · 1 year ago
I have to say, I think John McCain is realizing just how far from his ideals he has allowed the Rove side of the campaign to go.

I believe he is genuine when he said "you don;t have to be scared of an Obama Presidency, he is a respected family man". He does not want his supporters being hoodwinked to irrational fears and it's hitting him right now today I am sure.

Question is, what will he do about it?
  • Hawk · 1 year ago
This is a Campaign that has gone out of his control.
  • Nylund · 1 year ago
I really don't like this constant use of the word erratic. It sounds as if he changes courses all the time. Personally, I think he's been consistently bad and makes poorly thought out decisions, but I don't know if erratic is the word I'd use.
