What is the press in Europe saying about the Palin fiasco?

How busy are the toilets at the Minneapolis airport this week with all these toe-tapping Closet Cases in town?

i heard yesterday on NPR, several European news sources were interested that a woman was nominated for VP but thought that Americans focus too much on the fact her 17 year old daughter is preggers... so far, the response to her was superficial and annoying, just like here.

bet there won't be one word about the economy in McCain's speech tonight.

B-b-but didn't Miss Rudy say the Rethugs "gave" us the "right to work" (without the right of fair pay mentioned, of course).
Souls lost in the renewed slave trade will not be surpried to learn they too have this lauaghable "right".

If there was an open mic around when Noonan and Murphy discussed soaring unemployment I'll bet you'd hear a different story than the one GOP flacks put out for public consumption. They are delighted that so many of us are out of work because this means lower wages and salaries and bigger profits for people who own beer distributorships and candy bar manufacturers.

this is a little O/T, but I was flipping through the channels this morning, and came upon a little forum that Chris Cuomo was having with some teens about the teen pregnancy issue. The girls went first, then the boys, and then both groups. The question about who shares responsibility, and how much got an interesting response from one of the young ladies. She thinks that if a teenage girl becomes pregnant, the father should have imput on all issues including abortion. Doesn't she get it? Cuomo should have stopped her right there and explained to her that abortion is not an option under McCain/Palin. Not a chance of that, though.

OT...Stephanie Miller show live from the RNC just went dead in the water after a few technical problems...sabotaged? Have a rerun from London on at the moment....

Yeah, I caught it on the way to work, When their mikes were working, the cast didn't know it. Sounds like something that happened over at MSNBC a few days ago. The only difference was that no one claimed that it was over for Obama. The repugs probably thought they could catct Stephanie or Jim or Chris saying a derogatory remark about a Democrat. Bummer! We're very comfortable with our ticket, thank you.

Things are not yet bad enough to dislodge the incumbents.
Remind me again . . . how did the sensible Germans get rid of Hitler?

    Stocks sink on recession fears
Wall Street retreats, with the Dow falling over 300 points, as mixed retail sales, weak job market news and a slide in oil prices add to fears about a global slowdown.

And yet, not a word on our "robust" economy...

This is the real news, and even then you can bet the number is faked down. Meanwhile the GOP parades some trashy slut to try and make the demented McCain look somehow electable, all the while ignoring this reality. Your country is even more fucked now than it was at the 2004 election. Don't see you ever getting it back fixed.
