Thank God McCain isn't 80.

They are having elections in Israel, perhaps Lieberman would like to be a member of the Knesset...his statesmanship is surely valued in that country.

Lieberman's a democrat. He's saying what anyone would expect him to say. He will probably be in charge of organizing the Senate in January. Nobody in their right mind would cross "old Joe" at this point in time. The biggest nasty coming down the pipe today is that the congressional democrats want to either roll your 401K into Social Security or take half of it when you die. They are scaring the pants off people who don't even have 401K's. How stupid is it to telegraph this stuff before the election?

Lieberman is not a Democrat. He is an Independent.

I believe that Lieberman is still a registered Democrat. However he should be kicked out of the Senate Democratic party Caucus and lose his chair and hopefully his seniority in the gov't affairs commitee.
He is going to impede any vote on Iraq or his new country he wants to destroy, Iran.

Lieberman may refer to himself as an "Independent Democrat," but he left the Democratic Party in 2006 and won reelection as an Independent.
Otherwise, I completely agree with you about him.

I know what happened in 2006. Given my friend in Branford was inundated with robo calls for the Democratic primary and the general election.
I believe he never change his party affiliation, whether he was running as an "Independent Democrat" or not. I still think he is registered as Democratic Party member.
"While he calls himself an "independent Democrat" in the Senate, he remains a registered Democrat and has said he has no plans to change his party affiliation."

Thanks, okojo. I didn't know that he could run as an Independent and still be a Democrat.
One more reason for me to want him out of our government.

Head in the toilet time for HoJo and they'd better do it. First they mewl about keeping his sorry ass so they can get to 50. And then they start crab walking because he gets us to 60. Or 61. F**k it. Whatever. More and better Dems doesn't include that twerp and how often is there going to be 59 or 60 Dems acting in harmonious unison allowing HoJo to be the kingmaker over and over.
He told us whose side he was on. Big time. He cut himself loose. Let him float away.

here's another not-so-ringing endorsement... Kathleen Parker figures out McCain = dick for brains...which explains his choice of Palin...haaaaaaaaahahahaha!
WOW! This is a great story! Rush has mentioned Mr. Fried many times on his show over the years. I LOVE IT!!

Now I think this is a big endorsement, compare to Powell, or Adelman or even Weld. The guy was on an adviser for the McCain Campaign! compare to the other Republicans who were cast out of the tent for a couple years. (For Weld, well Conservatives hated him for getting Meese to resign back in the 1980s)
Now if the Obama campaign can get someone like Martin Feldstein to defect, then McCain will just go back to Sedona..

Note to Senate Democrats....
Dump Lieberman out of caucus or at least eradicate his seniority.
It doesn't matter if you have 58-59 majority and not the magic 60 majority, Lieberman needs to go.

If Obama wins, I hope Blogo appoints Rahm Emmanuel to replace him.
He's not the most progressive guy in the Illinois delegation, but he'd take Lieberputz out in a second.
Harry Reid's too fucking nice.

Emmanuel may be a top candidate, because whoever gets the seat has to raise a boatload of money in two years to fight off a challenge for the 2010 election

Oh, geez. I detest Lieberman, but you're really spinning things with this post, John.
Obviously, Lieberman's not commenting on Palin's readiness, but on his wish to see John McCain live out his term.
This kind of distortion really does not help our side.

Remember, McCain called Palin better qualified than poor old Joe... As Julius Caesar said when he was stabbed to death: "Et tu, Brute?" Poooor Joe, shunned or betrayed by Democrats, Republicans and McCain alike. See this great cartoon at the Word Face-Off blog!
