AMERICAblog: John McCain did "all he can do" but still can't stop NC GOP Chair Linda Davies from running its racist ad

McLame is a pussy and obviously incompetent . We are all in great danger if this lunatic gets elected.
  • Viceroy · 1 year ago
How is reproducing the words of a racist, and then pointing out that that racist is associated with political candiate(s) "racist?" Utter nonsense, sounds like Newspeak as in "War is Peace". Rev. Wright is killing Obama. He may not be enough to keep him from the nomination, but the election is unquestionably in doubt. This morning the news reported that Wright has accepted "protection" from the Nation of Islam. Get the association? Obama = Wright = the Nation of Islam. Also this nonsense about it all being an attack on the black church won't fly: 1) it is only about the black church if the black church claims Wright and sanctions his racism, lunacy, and antiAmerican statements, 2) Doubtlessly most Americans will feel that if it is about the black church, then the black church needs to change, and the black church and Obama are out of touch with the mainstream. This is not going away. The man needs to shut up.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Viceroy, you're either a Clintonista or a Chimpylover. Either way, you're an idiot.

I heard Wright yesterday and he is right. America DOES have serious problems and it was his job as a pastor to address these problems.

YOU need to shut up, you racist Repuke.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I said last week when a similar post was made that McCain has a win-win on this . He publicly denounces the ad but does nothing to stop it. Why should he, the ad damages his probable opponent.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
The Sean Bell verdict created a new legal standard for police shootings. The cops can shoot you 50 times if they THINK you might have a gun. Not actually have a gun that they can see. They just have to think you have a gun.

Thought crime is now punishable by death in New York.
  • vegasbaby · 1 year ago
McSame is just using the age old trick: good cop/bad cop....just because he says he's done all that he can do, doesn't mean he has....

why would anyone take any republican's comments seriously????

all they do is lie. Rove taught McSame very well. Bash Obama on his strength.....connecting with common folks...and instill fear in the electorate that Obama isn't really a christian....

this is all classic Rove....don't believe anything McCain says....HE"S A LIAR, FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!!
  • GrahamCrackerDC · 1 year ago
The ads are not racist. The ads would be there even if Obama was white and his white pastor screamed and yelled about blacks.

The only certified racist in this entire controversy is Reverend Wright.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Notice how the corporate media (which Wright bashed by that name in his speech to the NAACP) are refusing to cover McLame's spiritual advisor Hagee.

That fat fundy fascist believes we should hasten Armageddon. That's right, McLame's pal Hagee WANTS to start WW3 and nuke the world so we can all go to Jeeeezus.

That is a LOT more dangerous than anything Wright said. But McLame gets a pass on it.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Viceroy

Have you read the entire speeches where those selected sound bites occurred?
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
GrahamCracker, you really are a cracker. A stupid inbred white trash asshole.

There is no such thing as racism against white people. (I am white).

Whites are the majority race and have had institutionalized racism against everybody else for centuries.

There is no such thing as racism against white people. We are fair game after what we have done to everybody else.

Rev. Wright told the truth. You can't handle the truth. Dumbass redneck.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
That verdict in the Sean Bell case is a real stinker. The cops exercised their right in NY to have a judge's verdict instead of a jury. The judge in the case was a former cop. He ruled that cops can shoot you if they THINK you may have a weapon. Not actually have a weapon. This means it is open season on blacks, other minorities, and anybody else the cops don't like.

We are no longer a nation of laws. We have descended into fascism.

Racism is a belief system and ideology. It is not about power. Anyone who believes that race is a central theme of human history is a racist; anyone who holds that race defines human characer is racist regardless of who and what they are. This other idea is just a scam to empower hatefulness, and is in a sense the worse kind of racism, because it is racist and proud of it.

Is McCain in charge of the Republican Party? Is he their candidate for President? yes
Does McCain have the Stones to lead? apparently not.
At best he lacks the character to lead by pretending tat he does not have the Stones to stop this ad.
But do we really want to elect a President who the best we can say about him is that he pretends to lack Stones?

"Wright is weaving a theological argument about the cycle of human violence and the targeting of innocents. His text is Psalm 137,"

    ---
Viceroy... while for the most part I agree with that statement.
what if your view of someone's race leads you to favorable pre-judgements of their character based on positive stereotypes?

example, I tend to view most Japanese people as intelligent based on the fact that Japan has an incredible education system, and their culture drives young people to strive for excellence.

so... based on that, I'm assuming something about their character based on their race. Is that still racist?

then again... there's that Avenue Q song... "Everyone's a little bit racist", well written... and true.

While the Reichwing media spends time today picking apart Pastor Wright's brilliant speeches and interviews, the US becomes a nation that tortures and with a currency that's worthless. The high price of fuel is directly related to the fall of the US dollar.

    OT:

Clinton is airing this advertisement in Indiana, bemoaning the closure of a defense contractor Magnequench's manufacturing plant in Valparaiso (she is also echoing this line in her stump speeches). Looking at the camera, she tells us she's upset that the 200 jobs that were sent to China, and that "now America's defense relies on Chinese spare parts." And then comes the kicker: She tells viewers that "George Bush could have stopped it, but he didn't."

Clinton is certainly right that it is a tragedy that 200 American jobs were killed in a corporate deal that also exported sensitive military technology to China. But she forgets to mention that it wasn't George Bush who was in the key position to stop it - it was Bill Clinton.

The unspoken alternative is that perhaps McCain really hasn't done much of anything to stop this. If McCain has learned anything from Bush it is to say what most want to hear and then do the complete opposite. In other words, lie. A lot.

Oh, yea? Tell that to a white friend of mine who got an extremely high score on the test to be a police officer, and then was told that the department didn't need any more white police officers --

Tom3, you can apologize for your own racism if you want -- but don't pretend to apologize for me, or the white race. Unlike you, I am not ashamed to be white.

Actually, the unspoken alternative is that the Republican believe in individual rights. The GOP is not a dictatorship. Even if what NC GOP is doing is wrong, it's their right and McCain respects that.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    Tom3,

Why do you even bother? These trolls have nothing better to do than spew racist bullshit. RACISTS hate America. They would rather allow China to take over America, than vote for a black president. United we stand; divided we fall. China is waiting in the wings.....

  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Funny how the trolls and the MSM have nothing to say about McLame's spiritual advisor Hagee.

Hagee wants to start WW3 and blow up the world so we can all go to Jeezus. He has said this.

That's a LOT worse than anything Wright said. Hagee is a psycho and he advises McLame.
  • bulldog909 · 1 year ago
NO Tom, you are misinformed. Hagee does not advise McCain, he is not his pastor, he is just some kook who endorsed McCain. Wright is Obama's pastor, close friend, and 20 year associate who Obama donates thousands of dollars to each year. Can you see the difference?

If McCain can't stop the NC GOP from running an advertisement, how can we expect him to protect us from evil-doers like Al-Qaeda who would try to kill us? Seems to me that this is a disqualifier for the presidency.
  • prochoicelib · 1 year ago
But isn't all the McCain doing is what Mike Huckabee did? Calling attention to an ad he can't run by denouncing it? Huckabee did one step further by having a news conference and running the ad.
  • blksista · 1 year ago
McSame said on The Today Show last week that he would strongarm Daves if Obama would apologize to all those good white people
who love god and their guns for those 'bitter' remarks.

Right. She's doing the job for him. But then again, isn't this state the land of Jesse Helms?

    That sh*t dies hard.
  • GrahamCrackerDC · 1 year ago
"Rev. Wright told the truth. You can't handle the truth. Dumbass redneck."

    I didn't say America wasn't racist -- I said that ad wasn't racist.

America is racist. That's why I am supporting Hillary Clinton. If Obama gets the nomination, he'll lose big-time because racists (Dems and Independents) will flock to McCain by the millions.

    Only Hillary has a chance.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have always appealed to the fringe racists. Don't forget, when they were in Arkansas, they made a lot of backroom deals. Do you really think they could rise to power that fast without help from the KKK? I will never vote for a Clintonista as long as I live.

"Seems like McCain is actually either a pushover -- or maybe he's intimidated by this woman:"

I disagree. McCain is (with media complicty) managing to have his cake and eat it too. As the Philly Inq's Dick Polman said,

"When it comes time to dish the dirt, he keeps his hands clean as he tut-tuts about the incivility of our politics. He looks good doing it – the Washington press generally loves it when he’s in pious mode on the high road – and, meanwhile, he gets to reap the rewards of the dirt being dished. "

There's more from Polman and my own limerick "Ode To Pious McCain" here.

Dwight Eisenhower knew George C. Marshall, his mentor, the man who saved Europe from starving, wasn't a communist sympathizer. So when Joe McCarthy said he was, Ike did the only thing he could-- he kept quiet.

  • bulldog909 · 1 year ago
OK ignorant masses, let me make this clear to you: McCain does not control the local party in any state. By law, he is prohibited from coordinating their activities, so stop blaming him. Second, stop calling everything racist just because you don't like it. There is nothing racist about attacking Obama for the words of his close advisor and friend of 20 years. Third, stop trying to equate Hagee to Wright. Hagee is not McCain's pastor, he does not have a long record of close ties to him, he is just someone who decided to support McCain in this election. The difference is Wright is supported by Obama, financially, and for 20 years they had a close relationship. Is that simple enough for you to understand?
