You stole my thunder. But along the same lines, I would add that saying she is inexperienced also is wrong. No amount of experience will give her the skills she needs to a leader of more than the minor state of Alaska if that..

Hockey mom: A grown-up woman who gets up at 4 a.m. to go to the hockey rink, drink coffee, and yell "fuck you" at the 16-year-old kid refereeing her 9-year-old's hockey game.

Not a girl, as she's over 18. Besides, she stole Todd's equipment a long time ago. Any day now, she'll be announcing that all her kids were immaculate conceptions, too.

i know I must be a dumb ass but I am still trying to get a sense of what they saw in Palin besides being a moderately attractive female. The more I read about her becoming Governor which is not a great achievement look at Arnold in California or Chimpy as governor of Texas they are largely symbolic roles. The real action is in the State Senators who set policy, pass bills and really run the state. For the GOP to now talk her up as the new head of the party is the talk of insanity, but you know I love it because it signals that they have no direction, no sense of what this country is about and more than anything shows they are completely in denial about what the average American is looking for. Sarah has had her 15 miniutes, doesn't like it when she has to stretch for an answer, can't memorize all the talking points, wears her religion like a crown and actually believes she has something special to offer. 3 out of 10 Americans will buy that shit but for the rest I want someone a lot smarter than me making decisions and guiding the country.

From Wiki:
The Governor of Alaska is the head of the executive branch of Alaska's government and the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces. The governor has a duty to enforce state laws, and the power to either approve or veto bills passed by the Alaska Legislature,[1] to convene the legislature, and to grant pardons, except in cases of impeachment.[2]
Sounds to me like Palin may have already overstepped those bounds, too. And we know about the finding that she broke Alaska's ethics laws.

I think it was twofold:
She is a fundie, and they thought they needed the base, they just didn't realize how base a part of the base Lipstick was.
McCain chose her as a FU to the RNC for saying no to LIEberman. And he chose with his piggy dick.

There's nothing the matter with you, it's just hard to understand how McCain and others could be so stupid. Last week's New Yorker has an interesting piece on how Palin was selected. For one thing, McCain talked to her for less than three hours. I would disagree with you re California governor's position. Unlike the TX gov, it is a position of leadership if anyone wants to try. Arnold's problem is that Republicans in the legislature hate him and Democrats don't trust him. So, nothing is being accomplished while the state goes down the tubes.

"She knows the $150,000- wardrobe story damaged her," the insider said.
Wow, Rethug "insiders" are as vacuous as their supporters. Imagine, that an expensive wardrobe would be the one damaging thing for Palin, but not knowing what the duties of the VP are, one of many important questions she either didn't answer or answered wrong, wouldn't be?
OMG! This is what Palin and McCain have been calling frugal? Their frugal is my extravagant.

So I wonder if the incident on the SNL set regarding her wardrobe was not about her wearing her $150k clothes, but rather her trying to run from them.

OT:
Lieberman starts kissing ass.
Joe Lieberman adopted the role of Republican attack dog early on, but as the election draws near, he's hoping the political world has a very short memory.
Lieberman, a self-proclaimed "independent Democrat" who was chosen by McCain to make the case against Obama at the Republican National Convention in early September, said his comments have been within bounds.
"When I go out, I say, 'I have a lot of respect for Sen. Obama. He's bright. He's eloquent.'"
My hunch is, Lieberman sees the direction of the political winds, and hopes to convince Democrats that while he's been a McCain sycophant, he's always been "respectful" towards Obama.
After McCain and Palin, Joe needs to be marginalized, a footnoted Benedict Arnold.

Lieberman has shown he has no loyalty and has shown NO ONE can trust him.
You know that old saw about how those who were once loyal to the king then switched sides to help the usurper were the first ones to die when the usuper took the throne? It's because they knew those who switch sides are not to be trusted ever again.
History lesson we need to remember.

The question isn't who's jacket it is, Governor, its WHO PAID FOR IT? Either the citizens of Alaska paid for it, or the citizens of the United States.... GUARANTEED! You sure as hell didn't pay for it, Governor.
By the way, how about the Bu$h Administration trying to start World War III real quick before the election out of desperation? Attacking within Syria's border? Uhhhh, who ordered this and why now?

Let's not forget how Cromwell's Purtains overthrew monarchy.
This is just a guess but my guess is that not much of anybody on the McCain staff or in the general range of the media has enough contact , social or business, with fundamentalists and pentacostals to realize how profoundly outspoken and sometimes confrontational they can be. Miss Sarah fits the profile almost perfectly. Gufaw your heart out but she's the real item.
She doesn't do the hee-haw laugh much but I bet it's in her vocabulary along with all the other folksy asides and fillers and prevarications that she uses, you know? She's not all that far off profile from fundamentaliist and pentacostal neighbors of mine who see her as one of theirs without much of an adjustment. She fits right into that socio-religious group and could easily be one of my Florida Cracker neighbors.
I think neither McCain nor his staff nor many of the commentators have enough direct experience of "those people" to recognize her as an authetic example of that social class. She might not be back but I'm willing to bet that someone very much like her is going to surface. We haven't seen the end of this bottom-feeding snippit of authentic Americana social upheavel. Alas!

She is a TALIBANGELICAL infiltrator and when she says her job is to get into the Senate and make policy changes along with Amendments to the Constitution don't think she is kidding for ONE MOMENT!
She is the real deal, a witch hunter of the first order, snake handler and VERY, VERY dangerous to civil rights for those who do not believe the way she does. In other words, if you don't believe you can Divine the Will and Mind of God, like her, you better watch out because the Talibangelicals do and they WILL come for you if they get in power!

Hey I pointed out that I'm a better capitalist than the McCain campaign. I would sell those clothes on e-bay because they would probably make more money for charity having those clothes bid on than just handing them to charity.
Because you know there is some right wing "hockey" mom who just love those clothes, or some guy who'd just like to have them to help him "sparkle." Oh and someone pointed out to me on another blog, he knows some drag queens who'd like to have that stuff.
