AMERICAblog: “John McCain is a campaign finance criminal who is flouting the very regulations he championed.”

    I signed. I love complaints.

Given the great respect for the law demonstrated by Republicans these past 8 years, and the absolutely stellar record of congressional Democrats in performing their oversight duty, I'd say this effort to hold McCain accountable is going just about as far as one could reasonably expect to throw an M1 Abrams tank while nursing a torn rotator cuff. Notwithstanding, the only alternative is to do nothing at all (i.e. the typical Democratic reponse). Therefore, there's nothing to lose by pointing out McCain's blatant hypocrisy even if the media gives you that deer in the headlights look. This project has the added benefit of being something that Obama and Clinton supporters can both agree on.

The law applies to all candidates in the Presidential Race. You don't have the option to opt in or out as you feel like it. This is just another example of why Americans feel betrayed and ashamed of their representatives. I don't have the option of blowing .20 on a breathalyzer instead of the legal .08. This is not different. The law is there, one which McCain helped put in place, for a reason to stop people from breaking the campaign finance laws.

Now just where in the world would you get such a ridiculous notion?

John Insane doesn't just break laws, his campaign is totally unConstitutional. John McCain is not a natural born citizen of the USA as required by Article II of the US Constitution to be eligible for president. If the rules don't apply to McCain now, just wait if the old geezer gets access to presidential remote. Bomb, Bomb, Bomb...Iran.

Is this how McCain solves a problem? Isn't there one Republican lawyer willing to help him out and come up with some legal solutions?

He's giving the law abiding American public the finger (perhaps this appeals to his base).

    I signed it.

Maybe some day someone from the GOP will be held accountable for their crimes.

The quote of the day on McCain comes from Jeff Huber over at Pen and Sword:

"It must be a kick in the head to base your claim to the presidency on your savvy in foreign affairs only to have it get out that Joe Lieberman knows more about them than you do. I bet it’s a lot like how I feel when my dog corrects my grammar in front of people. "

The Democrats should have been all over this as soon as it became known. Once again the party leaders were caught (sleeping, on vacation, apathetic) pick one of the above.

If we had any leadership in the Democratic party a lot of this sh*t would be headed off before any damage could happen. When are we going to get the leadership we deserve? I am talking about Dean, Reid, Pelosi. This is disgusting and uncalled for. Obama and Clinton are left to fight this campaign out with no leadership. Days and weeks go by without a peep from the top three. Where are they? Why don't they step in before it is too late?

Ed n Sted; I must have lost my mind to think that the law applies to anyone in Washington. I just don't know what the hell i was thinking.

The problem with complaining to the FEC is they are short the required members to form a quorum. Since old Hans Von Spakofsky (sp) nomination was panned, Bush didn't bother to nominate anyone else for the Commission.

    The Kremlin would be proud!

Absolutely typical of your average repulsican ala the goper mantra: Do as I say not as I do.

Old mccain's illegal behavior needs to be exposed and then let the people decide: Do you wish someone who respects the laws of this land or do you want someone who think's they are above the law, like Monkey King Bush and his regime.

Be aware, godless heathens, that John McCain has been endorsed by The Almighty. And He knows (actually, come to think of it . . . since He's omniscient . . . I should say "He has always known") who signs what. KnowwhutAhmean ?
